It is very informative. Really demonstrating how subtle the use of the rod should be. I used this in a Lakeland tarn. Straight into deep water. Too deep to effectively use lures on a retrieve. The techniques on here really helped increase the catch rate on a cooler day.
This is the best drop shot video I've seen. I realised what I was doing wrong on my first attempt (..... everything) and today did much better, connecting with a few perch. It's a really fun method that I can enjoy throughout the winter. Thankyou!
Amazing video, I've just got into ultralight fishing and this is the best video I've found so far, if I catch a fishing down my local canal next time it will be all thanks to you!
Thanks for a great video, I'm completely convinced.... now I just have to wait a few months for the ice to break here in Canada. I hope we will see more of these excellent videos.
I never tried wacky rigging a soft plastic like that for a drop shot, wonder if that'll work for bass, great video! Makes me want to get out and perch fish, not having to buy live bait which is so messy is a huge plus!
I thought there was no fishing allowed within 25 meters of locks - or does it not apply to “roving” lure fisherman. Only ask because I’m thinking of having a go when on a narrow boat hol later in the year
You don't need a rod and reel to do this style of close quarter fishing, you can do it simply with a 6 - 7 foot fixed line pole or whip with a pole's length of fluorocarbon on and some micro jigs/plastics, it's called dibbling job done. No expensive rod or reel, no braid, just a whip/pole with a length of fluorocarbon and a box of micro jigs/plastics.
those Ecogear pocket packs are great .I caught 7 pounds pollock on the tiny darter yellow color on 1 gr size 12 jighead.I I didnt get much fish with dropshot but im going to try again with much smaller movements and much closer to the bottom.Maybe the best video on dropshot.
it would be fun to measure the dinks, and everything else; compete with your buddies, i've got one friend that outfishes me regularly. i'm in Northern Michigan, USA. thanks for the good content.
Our favourite method is with an improved Albright. It's quite tricky to tie at first but with practise it becomes quite easy. It is very small and very strong.

I’m a sea fisherman. I like hunting fish for food. Great video of a technique that I previously didn’t understand. Another thing I don’t understand, is why bother catching these tiny fish that you can’t eat, in the first place? It’s not much sport, pulling up a goldfish.
Andrew L yeah you could, although that line is prob a bit thick for tiny spinning/drop shot rods, probably best with 10lb braid and say 8lb fluoro, you could still land a big pike on that.
If he is in a match and he catches 11 10cm fish, in an hour. It’s worth more that if someone catches a 1 meter pike. That’s what he is explaining Peter. This guy does plenty of videos where he is catching big fish if that’s what you want Peter. Ok Peter?
This IS the best drop shot video on TH-cam.

I watched this video years ago and just rewatched and it's still the best drop shot video around.

Hell of a lure for dropshot: The lunker city hellgie. You'll catch absolutely everything on that.
Hello everyone is using two hooks and lures attached to the same main line legal in the UK ?
I have seen in the byelaws the we can have up to three
I looked away for a second, and I swear I thought I heard Karl Pilkington explaining drop-shotting to me. Brilliant.

I was thinking the same, whip with small jigs & away you go fishing to hand. A simple way to get the same results and buzz
Tight gits haha
well described
2 of my favourite places to go drop shotting there steve on the stainy and the junky :)

Interesting video and simple look at the gear. One question though, how do you join your braid to the fluorocarbon please?

Can i use 20lb braid and 15lb flurocarbon mate

His unhooking mat I think
Top advice.

The Wykewell bridge 😊
Nice 1 Steve
Reel brand(size,model)?
Megabass :)
Gaus 20x
Does this work with trout too? Great videos. Subbed
I've been wondering about that too and I reckon that it will! These lures weigh next to nothing. No reason why they wouldn't work on a fly rod too
Hi Steve, or anybody, could they tell me specifically which brand of japanese rod and reel he is using?
Reel is a Megabass gaus 20x
Nice video!
You need 20 ..1pound fish to make a 20 pound equivalent not a Metre of 10cm fish ,so thats 10 to a metre and they average 3 ounces.
can't find the hooks anywhere!
+Tom Britton try harris sports mail, angling direct, fosters of birmingham, agm fishing and art of fishing
👋👋👋
A quid for every time he says no jigging
gd vid
can you dropshot with prawns ?😂

Really enjoyed this video until the Rolex was flashed around.

Nice Rolex
That's me put off drop shotting for life then !
Are you single?
tlny fish.how boring>
you don't get it really do you?
@@cadencefishinguk no.not at all.
Explain please.
@@peterwalker5433 it's about accumulation of length. Could be a metre long pike, 50 can perch or 10 CMS perch. It's the accumulated length which wins.
