Ban the public from inside the gates. They show little or no respect to our serving soldiers. Their behaviour would not be tolerated in their home countries so why here? Horseguards is not a petting zoo.

Who are the guards guarding,,? I think more to the point is why are the horses and guards exploited for tourism. This is nothing more than a tourist spot. Tourism is big business in London and the royals and all of the pomp and ceremony draw tourism.

No other nation would let tourist onto military installations, let alone treat the soldiers disrespectfully. I think they need to post signs about the yard horses and troopers being soldiers doing a job not for tourists entertainment.

To be fair this is really the only place that allows you to touch the horses in the military. Most other places would have foot guards and believe me you do not want to touch them!
I do also think an entry fee and a simple walk through, no stopping no photos. Buy a postcard or simply take a photo as you pass no posing and taking ages and be quiet.

Well done! This hasn’t been a fun for this Guard or his horse, too many idiots thinking they’re there to be ridiculed and disrespected for entertainment! These guards should not have to tolerate this whatsoever. Its stressful for the horses as well. At one time this didn't happen. Now we have entitled, disrespectful selfish idiots who think they can do as they like. Sorry, but its time to stop the public from going near them or inside the gates at all. These guards are on active duty. Its a sad state of affairs , but its needed Im afraid. Yes it brings in the tourists but its just going to far now. 😮

Someone said what job ate the soldiers do sitting on horse orse standing in various spots. They are guarding the kings building. They srand or sit upon a horse for an hour. The guards standing need to move about hence them doing just that. The horse men can't, they have to sit for that hour managing their horse all the while some horses get stressed with the amount of people. How would they like it if people started to pat stroke pull onthe reins etc not nice for the horse or the guardsman trying to control him. Tourists should respect them also the signs tget are put up. Alot think its a joke well its not and shame on those who behave so badly especially the foreign tourists. That would never be tolorated in their country.
