I'm always a bit horrified thinking about those thousands of grimy hands pawing the face of the beautiful horses. It is past time for the White Line perimeter around each of these KG's to be enforced. Enough!
The girl taking pictures over and over of her selfies petting the horse over and over gets annoying, the mans doing his Job be respectful dont crowd the horse or stand there for 5 minutes petting him over and over . But we all know how far respect goes these days people should not be allowed to touch the horse period. There are stalls with a chain you can not pass you can take a picture behind the chain, and you still have morons trying to step over the chain to take a picture. What dont you understand about stay behind the chain.
That’s getting ridiculous. Stop letting people even near the kings guards and horses. Either a break away chain or line painted on the sidewalk not allowing people to touch them. In this day and age, it’s time to be proactive in protecting them 😮

The same guy tried to grab the reins a couple of seconds earlier and got them pulled out of his hand...he looked shocked that the guard and horse actually moved! Then he decided to go in and do the fake kick. Had he done real one and connected, he would have been arrested. Horses legs are very susceptible to injury.
Sadly oriental people do not have great compassion for animals as shown here! The Trooper would take immediate action if he had of connected with the horse.

The horse and guards are immaculate , and so well trained. But I do wish it wasn't allowed to touch these beautiful creatures. Some of the public are morons and show no respect for those on duty. There have been people arrested for punching attacking a working police horse or dog , I suspect the law would be the same for a working military horse . I think he would have fallen over if he'd tried again though !

A horse, no matter how well trained, will always feel uncomfortable when being trapped like that. The only reason these horses don't freak out all the time is the incredible bond they have with the guards, and probably the best desensitizing training in the world.
The horses and their riders are usually very accepting of the children. So many adults however are just plain rude, presumptuous and overbearing. We can see that these mounted troops deserve better. I'm all for that 6foot rule. . . .

The guards ARE soldiers and carry swords, and are guarding a barracks which is full of more soldiers. There are also multiple armed police officers present at all times. The people in danger are the idiot tourists, who are apparently unaware of the fact that a) the horses are cavalry horses and will happily kick, bite and rear if they perceive they or their rider is being threatened, b) if you do not get out of way when told, the guards can and will take physical action and c) if one of the horse charges the crowd, people will die.

It's almost like these people have never heard of, much less seen, a horse before. I don't get the compulsion to touch the horse. I get the idea of a picture with the horse and guard behind you as a memory you were there. But, you don't have to be on top of them to accomplish that. I respect those that got no closer than the edges of the doorway. That should be a minimum, if not more.

I doubt if the King is even aware of anything like this. He is not involved in the day-to-day running of the military. He is commander-in-chief but the British Army is run by the Ministry of Defence. This is a Government responsibility. Write to the Secretary of State for Defence!

A well trained dog would not put up with random strangers continually in their faces...one after another. You're saying this guard has zero tolerance for stupid tourists... he didn't seem to mind the selfish woman with her bike.! He should have made his horse go forward and knock her bike down, she would have perhaps got the message..

The king is responsible for the way the people treat the gusrds and horses, he can put a stop to the disrespectful treatment the tourists do but apparently the $$$ money they get from tourism is more important
I've been saying this all along,the king could stop all this mauling of his horses if he chooses to.
I doubt if the King is even aware of anything like this. He is not involved in the day-to-day running of the military. He is commander-in-chief but the British Army is run by the Ministry of Defence. This is a Government responsibility. Write to the Secretary of State for Defence!

That horse obviously enjoys being petted and likes his job. When he doesn't want to work, he lets everyone know. There are videos showing when he gets fed up with people.

This particular Fell horse loves attention. I especially notice how gentle he is with children, so to see this man feign kicking the horse because he was ignorant is disheartening to say the least

These horses have got to be the most well behaved animals on earth. Imagine standing there in one spot for who knows how long, with strange people coming up and touching your face. Good Lord!!!

Awww. I feel for the poor guardsman on the horse trying to keep it calm. What with so many strangers coming up and not knowing what some twit will do. Poor horse too. They should have an ordered line that people could take pictures instead of having them bombard the poor guy and horse from all sides. Just saying

at other places, they have guides who,well guide the visitors in how to act, provide info on history and traditions, and would inform them [in their native language ]about the KINGS GUARD

A well trained dog would not put up with random strangers continually in their faces...one after another. Sometimes 3 to 4 simultaneously touch their faces, noses ...wrapping their arms around their head. These are real soldiers doing their duty. Make it a crime to touch either horse or guard & put up SIGNS in MULTIPLE LANGUAGES LANGUAGES so there is ZERO EXCUSES. Delineate an area around them where people have to stay back. Make arrests

@@deannyeltatzie7759 I think its a bit of both, a saddle can be a bit uncomfortable after a while, You can end up walking like John Wayne after a bit.....

@@deannyeltatzie7759 Yes, just to make the saddle more comfortable for the rider, and also gives grip, you don’t slide about. Keeps you cooler in summer and warmer in winter 😊 Doesn’t do anything for the horse, would have to be underneath the saddle for that.
