- Another provincial Routemaster vid now, this time Routemasters at work in Hull for East Yorkshire. They worked routes 56 & 56A from Paragon Station to Longhill Asda via the Holderness Road. Lovely film thanks. The old station was a lot better than the new one and I miss the old buses. Thanks again.
My pleasure.....
Used to get that bus good old days
Safety aside, the livery suited them. I liked the bright cream wheels and the unit with the single piece rims with the two large holes like the SMS class used to have.
A bit dark but yes, not a bad livery....
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus And it was the livery used by East Yorkshire before they became part of the National Bus Company.
@@johnabbott9526 Quite a few privitised ex NBC companies reverted to old, historic liveries as i recall. Then they were brought out by the big boys and corporate liveries once again became the norm!
Brings back memories, mostly cold and miserable ones, of the old Hull bus station. Googling the reg numbers you can see them in LT red at Trafalgar Square, Turnpike Lane and New Cross!!
Yes, they are indeed ex London Transport ones.....
Thanks for posting. A lot of what's shown in this video no longer exists anymore so it was awesome to see it again if you have anymore footage of Hull in the 80s and 90s I would love to see it 👍
Thank you....No, at the time i was only after the Routemasters. Now, of course, i wish i had filmed everything i saw......
My hometown
They look so smart!!
I don't think they had been running that long so were still pretty fresh.
Lovely footage!
Thank you. I got hassled by plod in the Holderness Road, i was outside a cop shop and they were obviously bored (and generally nosey but then again i suppose that's part of being a copper) so one came out to see what i was up to! To be fair he buggered off again back into the warm quite happily having ascertained i just a looney!
As long as you didn't get too much hassle, @@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus! Happy New Year - looking forward to viewing more videos from your archives.
@@zebedep Thank you, Happy New Year to you to! Don't worry, plenty more from the acrhives to come yet.....
Colour suits them
Yes, i was quite taken with the livery when i filmed them.....
56 or 57 what I get
