Sydney and Brisbane have both played in a heap of Grand Finals. Sydney's first was in 96 and the lions first in 2001. How on earth is a Sydney VS Brisbane Grand Final unthinkable. This story is too silly for words.

You guys have to understand it's about the two rugby league powerhouse states playing each other on the biggest stage in AFL. It's not about how did these teams make the GF, The Project are simply emphasising the fact that they are BOTH Rugby League Cities & this match up has NEVER happened before in the big dance.
& Eddie must have been told to spin that line about Sydney possibly winning the AFL & Melbourne NRL cos that's old news. Already happened 12 years ago in 2012 when Melbourne were NRL Champions & Sydney were the AFL Premiers.

Well, the AFL did state in the 90s they would do "whatever was required" to ensure success for the Brisbane and Sydney teams. Next minute there were Cost Of Living Allowances for these two teams when in reality it cost more to live in Perth at the time. The AFL long ago sold their sporting integrity in order to expand the market in the east - but very few people know or care to hold them accountable. At the end of the day it is a business.
