I recommend letting the chickens out every now and then with your supervision! They can eat the grass, bugs, etc, and provides enrichment. Chickens have a roosting sense, so they know where their home is if you're worried about them escaping. They will follow you for food if you need to lead them back. I have like 20+ chickens, and they free roam, but I let them do so because I live on a homestead. You could also just move the chicken coop if possible so they get fresh grass, bugs, etc. They can get deformities if just fed chicken food, so veggies and worms will work if you can't take 'em out!
This is the first video I've seen from you (you got yourself a new subscriber), and I have to say that - even though this video is from a year ago - it's nice to see someone with fewer pets here on pet tube (we currently have a dog, two cats, and I'm picking my Leopard Geckos up from my mom's house - I left them temporarily when I moved out - this weekend hopefully)! It's just nice to see someone with fewer animals rather than the whole like...All my Pets (150+ Animals?!?!?!) videos. It's great to see you back up and doing vids again. You are the person that inspired me to "adopt"/buy a hatchling red eared slider. I'm working on setting up a 40 gallon tank for the male hatchling that I'm going to be getting from TortoiseTown.com soon. So far I have a lot of decorations (mostly fake plants to start with) but eventually I plan on trying to incorporate some live plants. I'm also going to be doing a 10 gallon filterless shrimp tank which is going to be my live plant breeder tank- can't wait to start growing some duckweed as a small starter plant for the turtle tank. Originally I was going to name the turtle Daemonicus because of the red markings, but I've been leaning more towards Dante (from The Count of Monte Cristo)- or I might just wait to see what the turtle suggests for itself. Again, thanks for your inspiration and it's awesome to see you back. You're vids are a big part of my turtle education as well as Kamp Keenan and a few other turtle enthusiasts doing vids.

Well it's possibly stunted, or it could have been sick when you got it. How small of a tank do you have, and what size is your turtle? Also do you have a basking area set up?
@@TheTurtleGirl what size tank would you recommend for terrapin ? Should I just go all out and get the biggest size I can when turtle reaches adulthood
Hi! i really really need advice from you, im buying a turtle soon but my parents asked me to do a lot of research to make sure its safe so pls give me some tips
She has lots of videos on turtle tips, so I recommened scrolling through the vids on her channel. Some tips I have: If you have a smaller budget, don't get a bigger growing turtle (such as slider turtles, painted turtles, etc.). I would recommend a musk turtle. With them, you only need a 40 gallon tank when they're adults. You need to feed your turtle aquatic turtle pellets- they're sold at most pet stores. Make sure to get the ones that match the size equivalent of your turtle. For a baby, feed them every day, for a juvenile, feed them every other day, and for an adult, feed them 2-3 times a week. Make sure you have a proper filter in the tank, if you go with a 40 gallon I recommend a 60-90 gallon filter. Also you need to make sure you have a proper heater, which you can find on Amazon or a pet store. You will also need to buy a basking area (Also found on Amazon or at pet stores). You need to buy a lamp and get a UVB bulb and a Heat bulb (The heat bulb needs to be a specical heat bulb that you can find at pet stores. It needs to have UVA in it.) These are the basics to turtle care. Just remember, if you're on a budget, NEVER get a red eared slider or another kind of bigger turtle. They may be cheaper to purchase, but they need bigger tanks, and other things that are harder to supply on a budget. If you get one and can't supply those things, your turtle will either become malnourished/stunted or it could even die. Here is a good turtle website you can buy from. myturtlestore.com/baby-eastern-musk-turtles/ If you have any other questions just hit me up!
I took my turtle to bask outside then looked away for one second and he was gone... he has been missing for 1 week and 4 days. I've been searching and our backyard is pretty big and full with junk I'm starting to think that he's gone what should I do?
Live fish with bones are fine (Fish have bones anyways...) but don't feed them goldfish. Also, you can't just feed them fish. Feed them pet store turtle pellets, if it's a baby feed them every day, for juvenile feed them every other day, and for an adult feed them 2-3 times a week. The turtle girl has more vids on these topics, but just remember, fish are NOT a staple food.

Super adorable pets. Caring for them is just fulfilling and somehow stress relieving. We have 27 dogs (11 are less that 3 months old pups), 2 cats, 2 ball pythons, 7 leopard geckos, 2 softshell turtle, 2 red ear slider, 1 crocodile skink, 1 sailfin dragon, 1 bearded dragon and 1 pacman frog (plus their feeders as well, dubias, superworms, mealworms and mice). Most of the animals are rescued. Oh and I have 3 human kids. LOL. full time job from 7AM-9PM Mondays - Fridays and Overtime on Saturdays. I don't know how to start a day in my life vid on my channel. LOL
Could you maybe do a video about starting a planted tank? I want to get an axolotl but I wanted a planted tank although I don’t have the nitrogen cycle started yet and oh boy I’ve been trying for months to get it going but I couldn’t start it up and I just recently put plants in and they’re not doing so well even though I bought fertilizer for them and it’s just a whole stressful situation 😂😂
haha there is definitely a lot of information to take in Emma! If you watch a couple videos about how to cycle an aquarium, the same principles apply. GirlTalksFish and Aquarium Co-op have some great videos on the subject. Best of luck!
Turtle girl if you can answer this please do! I’ve just bought my new baby turtle, and when I put her in the tank the boy toddler turtle started mating with her... is this normal? Please tell me. And I’m scared if the baby turtle dies..... please!
Uhm.. I've never heard of baby turtles doing a mating dance.. So most likely it's signs of aggression. Do some research, and if you can't come to a conclusion, just separate them. Also it's most likely they're both boys, because it's relatively hard to tell when they're young, which could be causing aggression.
Like you said mochi is probably the runt, your doing everything right maybe it was just something In development who knows? Your doing great! ⭐️ my parents barely allow my 3 tanks I can’t imagine how your parents are! Lol
If you want to start keeping reptiles parents definitely create a problem most of the time lol. But once you convince them and they start liking your critters more they become more lenient usually thankfully.
Oh I have my bearded dragons Henny she’s 16 and my Spike he’s 4 and my rescue leopard gecko Bruno and my three red eared sliders and three common baby snapping turtles Theodore ,Timmy and Tutti

LOL
That's incredible! Definitely will keep you busy haha!
That’s crazy! 😀
That are lovely
thanks Naomi!
Is that a diamondback terrapin?
I want to have a RED like 4” big , but how t have it? I have no idea pls. Anyone could tell me? Thanks!
I'm not sure I understand? RES usually get quite large. Males typically stay smaller and will be approx 6 inches.
@@TheTurtleGirl ah ok! Thank you
where do you get your driftwood from?
Some of it is collected, some of it is from the pet store :)
Gerald! I love platys
Can you tell me the species of the first turtle you showed?🙂❤️
I am going to get a leopard gecko soon
U do u spray a the humid hide thingies???
I do spray my humid hides!
love the vid 🥺
thanks for watching!
Also it's most likely they're both boys, because it's relatively hard to tell when they're young, which could be causing aggression.
you must be super busy alot of work btw Hooku is super cute
Hi Sol xx how are u and the animals 🥰
doing well, thanks Ava :)
@@TheTurtleGirl good 😌

WHat do you do with the eggs??

wait so its okay to feed your turtle 3 times a week??
I have 24 chickens and 2 ducks a turtle and a dog and cat
Like you said mochi is probably the runt, your doing everything right maybe it was just something In development who knows? Your doing great! ⭐️ my parents barely allow my 3 tanks I can’t imagine how your parents are! Lol
haha it definitely took a lot of convincing.
If you want to start keeping reptiles parents definitely create a problem most of the time lol. But once you convince them and they start liking your critters more they become more lenient usually thankfully.
I have 2 pets but now it’s nearly gonna be 3! It’s a cat bunny and a axololt
wow that's awesome!
Oh I have my bearded dragons Henny she’s 16 and my Spike he’s 4 and my rescue leopard gecko Bruno and my three red eared sliders and three common baby snapping turtles Theodore ,Timmy and Tutti
