Mads...no reason to apologize for the work you have done and still do to get the boat sorted. What you are showing (and living) is the honest truth of what one of these projects involves, and they involve monotony, misery, and bone tired days and nights. The TV shows that squeeze these car and boat "restorations" into 45 minutes of cool and shiny stuff are doing a disservice to the people out there who don't know what they don't know. Keep up the good work, sir. Those who have felt the itch of fiberglass and have busted knuckles on rusty, greasy old parts...and who always have cuts on their hands...we salute you...

I know this is an old Video, but I just watched it. I want to say what a great achievement this represented, getting all the structural members reinforced. Great work !

Nothing wrong with repetitive glass work videos. Glass work is a huge part of boat maintenance, and pretty scary. I learn from your videos.

Making headway isn't always easy when your making plans for the future an adventure in itself. All the good stuff in the future will be as exciting as the past, look forward to it Mads, keep smiling and think positive, sanding and glassing is never going to end, just in smaller portions. All's good !!

Seriously, you should stop referring to Athena as a Warrior 38 at this point. With an extensive rebuild as this, this is clearly a Mads 38.

Looking forward as you and all your followers are to finally see the start of building on top of the sole.

Brother!...when you pulled up that cabin sole and started poking around and said you were gonna rip everything out, I was legit mad. AT YOU! Bahahaha. I had to stop myself from commenting bc I didn’t want to be negative. I was just like, “oh my god! He’s being ridiculous! He’s done all that work inside already! Why?!” But I kept it to myself (until now, but this will end good I promise! Haha) and I’m glad I did because now I’m super happy/excited with you that you are done with those structural repairs! It’s weird watching you. I have all these emotions like I’m invested and as if this is MY boat or something! It’s clearly not. It’s just a weird byproduct of watching someone for so long on TH-cam. Anyway, congrats Mads.

Mads, you and Andy (@BoatworksToday) are both excellent content producers. I have not been surprised that the two of you have been in touch over the years. His professional knowledge and experience, plus your DIY hands-on examples and overcoming of obstacles, make for great complimentary content. Keep up the great work on Athena, and great content production! We want to see her set sail only when everything is "Spiffy" and ready to get underway!
And don't worry about the repetitive content; some projects, or portions of projects, take time to complete, but as your videos have shown, there is always progress. That's important!
Well done, Mads! Looking forward to great future content!

Good call stocking up on wool clothing! I work outside in northern Sweden and as you can imagine, clothes are absolutely vital for keeping comfortable in our -30 degree winters. I've taken to wearing merino wool socks year round (in differing thickness), and when winter hits my first or second layer is all wool, and this habit keeps me warm and dry better than anything else I've tried. Even in summer, I find my feet are much drier with wool socks on them.

I am currently at a similar stage to you just put in new floor beams, new chain plate web and just thinking about the floor. I ,luckily don’t have any existing structures to work around. Just about to start grinding the floor beams and the hull to paint it., so I bought myself a blue tooth headset. I am with you being able to listen to music takes some of the boredom out of the job and I can hear it above the grinder.

If you have the time to mod something like that, putting a bigger tube on the shroud helps with dust management. Shorter hose to the vacuum helps too. I 3D printed mine with the same nose ID has the hose and it never lets dust out.

    Sir!
    Love your channel!
As a professional/instructor in the field of cinema and production, a little helpful hint with your wireless mic.
Your connection going into the wireless transmitter (TX), on the mic cable, has frayed and is shorting out (when moved). Or, it’s the end near the mic (just below the mic) that has decided too many pulls, tucks and pulls have occurred.
And I am sure, with you being the perfectionist that you are, that you: 1) Know it already, and 2) It is driving you crazy because you only find out in the edit bay (this is why I monitor my audio at all times, something that would be very tough for you to do).
It doesn’t sound like the TX has been dropped too many times… if it’s the TX, you will hear a hissing and drop. Anyway, I am not sure what type wireless you use, but the issue is always a hassle for pros, too. A little heat shrink on both ends (doubled up won’t hurt, either) will hasten the demise, if you’re up to doing it. The thin mic cables will thank you!
Thanks again for the channel and all the hard work!
    Rob

Mads, for this type of lamination (so many layers) you should consider to cut each layer with 20mm gap from the previous. So the last layer is the biggest. This way you will distribute the load, avoiding cutting zones.
