Thausands thanks to you lovely teacher Tanya for your clear explanations about "spaced repititians". Now I do understand better about it. See nexr monday.❤🇺🇸
Hello!!! Ms. Tania is a good idea when you taught us with your blackboard, I think you should explain with a big blackboard because you explain very well and I would like to be in your videos alive. I'm learning English also, I'm sorry if I have a wrong. Congratulations for your beautiful job !!!
Maria Jose, thank you so much for your comment. I love using the black board. I wish I had a larger one. I miss having a classroom with a black board or white board!
Tanya! Since you didn’t save the chat and there’s no way to grab the captions, I’m gonna have to do a little detective work on your video. Just a heads-up, I’m seriously short on time and have to juggle like a million things at once. Task: We’ve got four idioms: hint, kick in, cut off, and get a gist. Let’s craft some hilarious stories with them, repeating each one twice, and then a third time. Solution: (Here are three short, silly stories using all four idioms, each repeated): Story 1: The Breakfast Disaster “My brain just wouldn’t kick in this morning. Coffee was my only hint of hope. I practically cut off a finger making toast because I couldn’t get a gist of the directions! The resulting breakfast was a total train wreck! My brain wouldn’t kick in, wouldn’t kick in, wouldn’t kick in!” Story 2: The Furniture Fiasco “My friend tried assembling this IKEA chair; the instructions gave a hint that it was a challenge, but his brain just wouldn’t kick in. He nearly cut off his thumb with a screwdriver! I was like, ‘Dude, just get a gist of it, throw the pieces together!’ The result? A wonky, Frankenstein creation. He just couldn’t get a gist of it, couldn’t get a gist of it, couldn’t get a gist of it!” Story 3: The Camping Catastrophe “We went camping, and my friend brought this ridiculously complicated tent. The instructions gave a huge hint it was a nightmare, and his brain wouldn’t kick in! He ended up cutting off essential parts of the tent with his pocketknife. The assembly became a complete disaster! I said ‘Let’s just get a gist of it!’ We ended up sleeping under the stars. He definitely couldn’t get a gist of camping. He couldn’t get a gist of camping. He couldn’t get a gist of camping!” P.S. Task completed! Tanya, tell me I’m awesome as a reward for all this sleep deprivation I had to endure! 😉
Is not far I have already investigated on the internet and are 9 hours of the distance only that right now there is much problems with the security on the roads my mother wants to come here but she can't for the violence, but I hope that it will be more calm and you and my mother will be able to visit this beautiful place. Well in reality near by here there are so beautiful waterfalls the water is so fantastic.

You know, when someone says, ‘I need coffee to get my brain going in the morning,’ it’s almost like admitting to a caffeine dependency, isn’t it? The word ‘need’ is pretty telling, and the idea that their brain needs a ‘kick in’ suggests it doesn’t naturally power up on its own without that morning brew.”
@regnumV yes, that could be true, but in the USA it is used so commonly that we don't think of it as admitting to an addiction. It is a cultural thing.
@@EnglishCoach3Ts Dear Tanya, I’ve been incredibly fortunate in my life, particularly with my mother, who was a truly remarkable physician. She herself never drank coffee, and consequently, neither was it something she encouraged for me. On a related note, if we were to use the verb “lace” with the noun “coffee,” would it be appropriate to assume we were referencing cognac or another type of liquor? Having once held a managerial position, I had the opportunity to observe firsthand the habits of many young women in my office. I know quite well the ritual of coffee consumption during work hours, and I can affirm that it often borders on a serious dependency. As we say in Russia: “Salvation of the drowning is the business of the drowning themselves,” or roughly translated “Help yourself, nobody else will.”
It sounds like you had a wonderful mother. This is so wonderful. I think the consumption of coffee in the USA is out of control. I like coffee but only drink it occasionally. I am careful not to drink too much.
Tanya, what’s going on in your country? All the bloggers seem to be making the same video. Even my friend, a blogger, just dropped that very same video this morning. th-cam.com/video/iNnGN0q0u1M/w-d-xo.html

I need to drink some coffee to make my brain kick in in the morning

Great example! Very common use of this phrase!
