It's become a tradition for me to sit down and play the latest kurko Christmas special on Christmas day. It instantly transports me to Christmas 1998 playing banjo-kazooie for the first time and all the joy that accompanied it.

While the concept of saving Christmas is a bit cliché, it is still a wholesome and fun hack all the same! I like the idea of how some of Banjo's pals are chipping in to spread some holiday cheer!
Now, I've seen some of the concepts you have reused from the Grinch parody hack and they look more refined than they were in this one. The Grunty stealth mission comes to mind, especially the custom HUD element! Also, I never knew the pyramid race could be repurposed on the same scale seen in the treasure chest house! It's incredible!
By the way, are those explosive Christmas presents okay? They look rather sad...
Thanks for the good feedback! This project has been reused by the Rom of The Gruntch, which is why I could reuse many of the code things that were already made.
I suppose one of those houses must be the squirrels' family house.

I liked this hack, but felt that it was kinda difficult keeping track of which house was which, aside from a few of them i spent a looong amount of time walking around the town in circles entering every house to remember which one i need to go to. Also, that room with the button that raises all the platforms for a short time, the timer felt broken as it would start while the long cutscene played and then they would disappear seconds before the timer actually ended
I take note for future projects. As for the stopwatch, it works like this in the original BK, so I couldn't modify it

I love Santa village with our duo heroes saving Christmas 🎄🎁 from that wicked witch and her Army.
I found a really interesting glitch during my first playthrough of this. I jumped onto the big snowman building and accidentally fell through its head since there's no collision for it and I ended up on the warp pad of Mumbo's Mountain. Aside from some "off" elements (like Conga floating in mid-air and some Christmas textures), a lot of the level with its collectibles is still intact to play through. It just feels like an uncanny version of it.
At first I thought the teleport to Mumbo's Mountain might have been intended as an easter egg or something, so I was playing through it and even had Mumbo turn me into the termite. I tried going inside the anthill at the top of the map, but it teleported me back to this rom hack's map. At this point, I was stuck as the termite and had no way of turning back into Banjo, so I was softlocked and had to restart lol.
I went back to Mumbo's Mountain later and also found out that if you step off of the warp pad and back on it, it'll take you to an oversized version of Loggo's room in the Gruntch hack interestingly enough. You can't exit through the window like in that game tho, so you have to leave the room through the door, which will take you back to the beginning of this hack's map.
Just wanted to share this in case anyone wanted to try it for themselves. It was a wild ride lol.

I just finished it up. Thank you and everyone else who worked on this. Your holiday hacks are always a delight. I especially love all the easter eggs for fans of Nintendo, Rare, and the N64 in general. It was very cool to see new NPCs and I was impressed by the stealth mechanic on the HUD. Keep up the great work!

Spent an hour tracking back everything in your video to make sure I wasn't going insane. At somepoint a christmas token disapeared for me, saying I require 1 more but it is not able to be found anywhere. I believe the point it went missing is likel when I gave each coin to the Santa painting, one by one. I can provide a save file if you like.

Spectacular work as usual. Nice gameplay additions such as 'X' marks the spot hints in images, the sound meter tied to motion speed mechanic - great extensions of engine! Also, great work at including custom images and references of other franchises. Thanks for including community and also novel ideas such as QR code. Nice Christmas gift!

Which app do you use to make these banjo kazooie games?
I don't use an app, I use a tool called Banjosbackpack. Alongside with other programs like Photoshop and Blender for texturing and modelling, and Project 64 for testing

Because I putted 7 penguins in the game instead 6, so i had to remove one for the release version, but the video was already recorded

Yes, and the Halloween one that was released earlier this year (forgot the name, was it burly bog brewery?) does the same thing when you push A after the intro. I think it has to do with the level intro with the puzzle peices that come in; that's when it crashes. @@Kurko_Games
