- The journey to a prestigious b-schools can often be taxing, challenging, and time-taking. Many students take up a job when they do not get into the institute of their choice at their first shot.
Today, we present to you the interview experience of a candidate who took the road less travelled. Nikhil Kumar Upadhyaya took a gap year after his engineering to prepare for competitive examinations in order to get into a prestigious b-school. He ended up scoring a 99.06 percentile on the XAT and securing an admit despite a 64.1% during his engineering.
In this video re-enactment, we take you inside the XLRI Jamshedpur interview room and give you a glimpse of how Nikhil tackled the questions during his interview and built a strong case for himself.

If you get 99 percentile then you would definitely get a call for interview from XLRI Jamshedpur and Delhi.
Your Gap year only matters in the interview. You can just tell them what you were doing at that time .
If you want to convert the call and get the admission then you need to do your best in the interview.

How much gap years is required?
XLRI (Xavier School of Management) does not have any specific requirement for a gap year, and it does not affect your eligibility for admission.

I got 70% in graduation... 88% in 10th and 94% in 12th... Can I get call from IIM A,B,C and how much cat score should I get???
Gen Category call from IIM B is tough even 99.5 plus percentile ....but IIM C will give you the call at 99.5 & fifty-fifty chances from IIM A call ....note if Engineer chance are so low but If non Eng than at 98 percentile you will get a call from IIM C even from IIM B ....IIM A call mostly Bhagwan Bharosey ...
