Love these videos. As a former believer who came up in the 80's/90's I love hearing from all these guys. People like Jim and Roger and Jimmy are still superstars to me. Thanks for doing this!
Good job Jim. You stood your ground. I don't force what I believe on anybody, I will be judge on my life not anybody's. But I also won't allow anybody's opinion be forced on me. You live your life as you please to live. I love JESUS and I choose to follow him.
Greater interaction. No judgment or condescending attitudes. I loved how it was pointed out that there were many many religions before Christianity that had similar death and resurrection stories virgin births, etc. What's wrong with adding more information to the information you already have? Absolutely nothing. Knowledge is power. Who knows? Maybe Jim will change his views on certain things if he looks into history and biology and many of the other things he has probably neglected since becoming a believer. It changed my views after decades because I ignored anything that contradicted my faith or made me question anything. It's very freeing to allow information in and to make informed decisions.
Dude, please do an interview with Allan Aguirre. It would be crazy entertaining. I am a huge Scaterd Few fan. So much that my oldest son’s middle name is Aguirre. I don’t agree with a lot of stuff Allan says these days but still love him as an artist. Chaffin is the man. Keep doing what you’re doing sir!
n terms of belief in general, admittedly there are things I believe in without any firsthand knowledge. I personally have never seen an actual strand of DNA, but I believe they are real. I believe the earth revolves around the sun, even though it looks to be the opposite. I take these things on trust for the simple reason that I recognize the authority of the people that say they do and their track record for being right about so many other things that have been proven. In regards to faith in a God, a rational mind has always whispered in my ear that none exists. However, all I have to do is listen to some of the great minds out there who have dedicated their lives to following wherever the “scientific method” takes them to confirm what I pretty much always suspected. I’m referring to all those people with no horse in the race whose income is not directly tied to whether or not there is a god and whose only pursuit is the verifiable scientific truth. These are the thousands of physicists, biologists, archeologists, geologists, geneticists, astronomers, chemists, anthropologists, paleontologists and so many others dedicated to the scientific disciplines. Practically all of these elite scientists have spoken as one and have overwhelming affirmed that there is no evidence to believe that the stories in the Bible, Torah or the Quran amounts to anything more than bronze age mythology. Contrast that with the people that speak for god and who do you think I will give more credibility and credence to; the person that has read hundreds of books in their lifetime in their respected field or the one whose entire knowledge and understanding comes from just one poorly written 1700 year old book that they feel compelled to cherry pick their way through?
Comparing science and religion on an equal plane is ridiculous. Lol. Science is repeatable and verifiable through testing and peer review. Religion is anecdotal and can be whatever someone makes up in their head.
Is “biker James” the guy that started the band Modus Operandi? James Rasmussen. I think he was affiliated with a Church called “New Wine” in the Anaheim area.
@@patnobody I’m not sure. Assuming it’s the same guy… Maybe New Order was his first church and New Wine was the one he was affiliated with when he formed his band Modus Operandi. I actually lived just a few minutes down the street from the school in Garden Grove where his New Order church was located. Too bad I discovered The Crucified after that concert they did there. If I was older and knew about that show, I would have attended.
I am a believer in God AND Science, you can ask God for help BUT you cant just sit there and expect to be healed without looking for help. You pray to find the right person to help you out and God will guide you to find that help even if science is behind that help. I cannot stand people who say that they are praying for help yet just sit there and do nothing. Anyways Science can save someone's life, it can do a lot for our future but apparently Christians dismiss it as "the work of Satan" I mean....please! These "Christian" people expect the power of prayer to do 100% of the work 😂
Simon is so condescending I’m not sure he realizes it or not. He’s also such a contradiction with some of his arguments he’s hard to listen to honestly.

Great interview! Love Jim Chaffin! Amazing drummer and person!
I saw The Crucified in Fort Worth with Mortal, and I think that Greg played an Applehead set. Amazing show.
Thanks Simon for doing these interviews even though you no longer believe. You can really relate to these guys because you had a similar background.

Simon- good, fun debate starter.....It takes as much faith to believe in science as it does religion-Prove me wrong:)

Simon,
I love your Headbanger’s Ball story! 🤣
That pastor was a joke.
yes he was
Love me some Jim Chaffin.
Some good time travel here \m/
Jim didn’t mention that he’s playing drums for Jimmy P. Brown on his “Novella” solo project. Larry Farkas is involved as well.

"church of the new order" I think, wasn't it?

Tooth & Nail was Christian-lite (basically secular).
