  • The ruins of the town were abandoned long ago. Last people who lived here left centuries ago. The castle on the top of the hill was slowly crumbling away, its walls slowly forgetting its glory days.

    Yet again I bring you one of my usual fantasy ambiances very much inspired by fantasy books, dnd, and countless games.
    I hope it will serve as background for reading, writing, relaxing, or your dnd campaign.

    Martia: I create ambiences with original music. My favorite genre is fantasy, but I sometimes venture into sci-fi, horror, history, or plain (but beautiful) natural settings.
    I am heavily inspired by books, as I am a total bookworm, by PC games and DnD which my husband loves and talks about. I love long cross-country hikes, that feel like a huge adventure and you can see it in the number of traveling ambiences I produce 😀
    You are at the right place if you are looking for one of these: ambient music for reading, ambient music for work, ambient music for sleep, ambient music for studying, ambient music for relaxation and ambient music for RPG, background music for studying, background music for reading, background music for working, background music for writing, or background music for DnD.

    Writer's inspiration struck from this, and I thought I'd share.
    None are alive who can tell the true tale of old Blackrock town. But we spirits who linger here shall warn you of the all-consuming poison of vengeance. In ages past, old Blackrock town housed many souls who lived, loved, laughed, worked, and played beneath the sun. The walls of Blackrock town were impregnable, the forbidding keep in the center of town warding off all would-be assailants. Our lord was kind and just, and his people were happy. Once. But the fall of Blackrock would not come from foreign invaders, but, as often is the case, from within.
    None know who struck the first blow or why, but soon, a wave of violence held the good townsfolk in its grip. Some say it was Keldrin, a loner who raved at his neighbors for any slight, real or imagined, and vowed to get even with them someday. Others say it was the lord's youngest son, Malvor, who sought an easy means to supplant his elder siblings and place himself in a position to inherit his lord father's fortune and influence. Regardless of who struck the match, the flames of violence and revenge burned in the town from the summoning of a vile demon. The fiend did not slaughter all in Blackrock, for such was not its way. Rather, it incited disagreements over petty affairs, sowed paranoia and lies in the hearts and minds of the people, and incited every act of violence that followed. Every act of bloody reprisal demanded the retribution of the blade, which itself demanded a violent response. On and on the vendettas raged, sparing none, or so many think. In the end, I too succumbed to the blade of another, but not before sending my children to a village three days' journey east with a warning: "Evil haunts the stones of Blackrock."
    Now that you've heard our story, I beg of you, traveler. Pray for our souls, for those who succumbed to violence have been enthralled by the demon. Because I acted to preserve the lives of my children, I may serve as a warning to all who approached the cursed keep. May its malice be ended one day.

    I don't know what it is exactly but there is such a unique quality in your ambiences. It feels like I don't hear sounds but emotions. Whenever I listen to one of your ambiences, including this one, I feel a sense of longing that leaves me bittersweet; and I love it. After not quite being able to find what I'm looking for, I find myself coming back to your videos like a safe haven.

      Thank you so much for this comment ❤️ I was always sensitive to emotions in sounds and am so happy you find them in my work.

    A place like this seems like a location that would have the dead rise once the moon is full, and a man wielding a chained whip would have to make his way through them. :P Joking aside though, while this is pretty creepy, it's still very calming in this light.

      From my own library? It must be the Dark forest still... It was the first piece I was truly proud of even before it blew up. I also like all my desert ambiences and most of the fantasy playlist. I guess simply because I really like those settings in books and movies 😊. What is yours?

    A mountain town. I'm guessing the people left here because it's hard to grow crops on a mountain. Mountain living is beautiful in just about every other way... but it's not great for agriculture.

    • @MartiasMuses
      @MartiasMuses  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe it used to be a town on the route through the mountains, serving as shelter for the travelers and then the route changed and people left... You see that a lot when you walk ancient trails
