Can you export QuickBooks data into Quicken for example chart of accounts, vendor list, customer names, etc.

Yes, but it's very manual via excel import and exports. And there isn't really a "Vendor vs Customer" list in Quicken so you need to manipulate that even further so it may not be worth it.

@@qcoach Thank you! After adding accounts, vendors, and names once, it may still be worth using Quicken for simple business accounting. I started using Quickbooks when it came out in 1992. However, as a customer, I get the impression that the company is now run by crooks who believe in fleecing customers as much as possible with minimum service. I would hate supporting those crooks running Quickbooks.

Awesome video! I have been a quicken home and business user since 1998 for our personal and sole proprietor ship for our farm and ranch operation. I have recently been using QuickBooks for a part time job as secretary/bookkeeper for a very small irrigation district and I was considering the switch for our family business. This info convinced me to STAY with quicken for our personal and family business. Thank you so much!

Thank you! I'm in a small local govt office and inherited quicken. I thought switching to quickbooks would make this easier. I love how you explained that it isn't easier, just different.

I have a new client that uses Quicken for personal finances. I'll advise them to stay with it! Thank you.

Thank you for this. I"m starting a small business and was trying to figure out what to use. A couple of people suggested Quicken and after your video, Quickbooks would be a better choice for my needs!!!

Stephen, just watched this and wondered if you might have an answer for my particular situation. New computer with windows 11. Was using Quicken 2015 on the old computer (which still works) and want to switch to my Windows 11 and more powerful computer. Household use only. Quicken is no longer available, and while the old program seems to want to run, it requires the installation key, which I do not have and is no longer available from Intuit. They no longer even have a record of my account. Can I use quickbooks? And is there an alternative to Quicken that you know of.

The video answers the Q vs QB question...you may but it depends. There are dozens of Quicken competitors including Quicken's own Simplify...but in my opinion none have the depth and power of Quicken.

Hi Stephen. Thank you for your video, although, I still can't decide which one to choose. I have a C-Corp. I do Invoicing at SquareUp. I am selling services at 99% cases and 1% of goods. I like the tracking of my all credit cards and accounts, that I can easily sort or filter them by the keyword. ( Which is not probably possible at QB ). I am using Quicken for sorting all expenses. I mark them business or personal and then I export them to Excel for my Bookkeeper, who fills taxes for me. Do you think I should switch to QB to have it more professional? My bookkeeper told me, that when she will finish the books online in QB, there is no chance to change anything after. That's why she is using QB offline. The other CPA told me, to switch to QB. ;)
What do you think, please? Thanks!

I agree with your accountants. For a C-Corp businesses you should go with Quickbooks or QB Online.

Kurt - There are is one Plug in that I am aware of but it is quite advanced and expensive and is geared at high net worth individuals and not for retail users.
