I've had this monitor for over a year now, and I'm delighted with it. I'm not a gamer, so it's used for general office work, photo editing and watching videos. It's audio, like most monitors', is tinny, so the C34J79X is connected to a pair of excellent Audioengine A2+ speakers. Thanks for a good review.
does it collect much dust?
What is the best setup for gaming? I have a ps5 and im playing on that screen
Do you know if this screen has a USB upstream port? I'm trying to connect a Nexigo camera to use with my screen. thank you.
VA?
But why It does not have a remote control?
Nice review :)
Have a question on that
Is it possible to use a USB-C to ethernet adapter on the second thunderbolt port to passtrough this to the macbook which is connected on the 85w thunderbolt port?
Hi! i have two thunderbolt ports on my macbook. I use one for a USB dock which has a Ethernet port in it .
The other thunderbolt on the macbook is used straight to the monitor. Nothing else is connected to the macbook and it charges and stays charged from the monitor.
I can confirm that you can.
Hello, Thank you for the video keep goin ❤
I hv a question, i have macbook pro 14 and the same monitor, i confused that the type C charge 85 watt and the macbook charger is just 67 watt, is this wil damage my mac because last macbook pro 15 2018 was damaged
It shouldn‘t. It will just charge it a bit faster than the MacBook charger.
Is the text clarify look nice ?
Have you had issues with your USB and thunderbolt displays? I reached out to Samsung and they suggested installing firmware (that isn't available for mac?)
Sadly, it has bad colors, the QLED colors look like a normal led display, kinda sad when you think about how good QLED tvs are. it don’t have true black, it is slow to adjust the brightness to match the content on the screen. The VA panel it uses has a extremely small view angle
Hey mate
Awesome review! I’m looking to purchase this screen during the black friday sales.
May i ask what Tripod Stand and ring light setup you have on your desk?
Hi, thanks for watching! The screen has been good. The ring light and tripod are just from K-mart here in Australia
@@YeetCrew Fantastic! thanks for letting me know!
Thanks for this, just a question on the display options, are there scaling options like there are the the mac's built-in? i.e. bigger/smaller font/text. How small is the text icons menu bars etc.? I have seen reviews that say it is too small for long work days...
Hmm.. good question.. it is a tad on the small side when you have a folder with pictures and videos etc.. but you can change the folder layout. That’s the only thing that maybe I don’t like, as I do a bit of editing with our traveling TH-cam channel.
i just got this monitor for my m2 macbook's extend display, the font is blurry, my eyes couldn't handle it, about to do a return, anyone has this issue and know how to fix it?
Its because macs now dont support sub pixel rendering which is required to for font to look sharp on lower res (lol 2k is now low res for apple) fonts on non 4k screens. This change came with os about the time when m1 came out. Tbh it is why i left the mac os system and came back to windows. Native scaling is small and if you change it to 1080 its just not acceptable… apple wants you to use 4k screens or their expensive screens. Apple makes perfect laptops but the screen and connectivity is a mess compared to windows. Windows on the other hand is noisy battery life is bad but you get ports and better window management. My opinion. If i am going to stare to the screen all day i am willing to sacrifice mac os not to loose my mind over pixel issues in 2023
@@RudolfBrudersChannel thanks a lot!
Thank you so much you help me
Great review :) just a quick question - are You using it with the M1 Macbook Pro?
Thanks. Yes we sure are
@@YeetCrew good to know ;) I'm looking for a monitor for my M1 Macbook Air, and I eventually decided, that I appreciate workspace more than resolution. Can a Macbook work in a clamshell mode while being powered by just this monitor, or do I have to plug it in the power supply?
Mine runs on just the USB-C from the screen. No other power needed. I have mine open to make use of dual screens, but is also fine closed
@@YeetCrew That's Amazing!!! Need to move my three letters to make money and buy this beauty! :D
I love this display, I just wish macOS felt more native with 2k displays. The text is painful at times, and the color reproduction is great * most* of the time, but could be much better.
So I've had this monitor for 2 years now and hated this, the text was way too small! However in the past month I found an app which is free called BetterDisplay. It's fixed this and I can choose any resolution and it'll be HiDPI which fixes everything! A little playing around with the app but now i've got it perfect.
