    Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Great footage of the Crakes and wow so many shorebirds. Great stuff guys.

      Thank you! 😀 The Crakes were such a highlight!! We hung around for some time to let them know we were not a threat.... and then they popped out for a good stroll along the vegetation. Didn't hurt that the light was just perfect on them too!! 😊

    Pity the boat trip turned out to be a wash out! But you managed to get some great footage of some amazing bird life. How cute is that Wallaby. We visited Port Fairy in 2019 and also visited Koroit and Tower Hill. Great to see the Emu and spot an Echidna. Egrets, Swamp Hens, Ducks, Pelicans, Plovers, Wattle Birds, Honey Eaters. love coming along on your journey to see what you find next. Thank you for sharing your passions with us. Yes you succeeded! ♥♥🙏🏼👍🏼🤠

      Thanks so much! ❤ Yes it was a bit of a disappointment about the pelagic but we saw some amazing things... and it just means we have to go back! 😃 We've seen your video to Port Fairy! 😀 Really good. The architecture there is lovely. So many beautiful old buildings

    The Australian tourist board, or the Ozzy nature conservancy, or whatever they're called, should be supporting you two. What wonderful introductions to the land and wildlife of your grand country. And they just keep getting better.

      Thanks so much Fritz ❤ We're always learning and trying new things to improve our videos (including how to talk to the camera) so thanks for the compliments of improvement! This was a fun one and we saw loads so it was great to make it into a video & highlight all the amazing stuff we saw 😀

    Hello. I am a new friend here from Singapore. There are so many bird species that you two can record in PORT FAIRY. I really enjoyed watching this bird observation video. Happy birding and have a nice day.👍🔔

      Thank you so much! 😀 I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! We'll be heading back to Port Fairy again sometime soon so I hope we get to see even more birds.

    I visited Port Fairy a few years ago and had a great time - wonderful to see your video, which brought back some great memories. Gripped by the crake footage. The disappointment of cancellations is very much part of the pelagic experience!

      Thanks for watching! 😀 Yes, those pelagics are unpredictable! But... good news is that we get to go back again when Nimal can get on the next available pelagic.... or not.... who knows?! 🤣 The Crakes were such a great surprise!!

    The views you captures are absolutely stunning. I am a fanatic with the camera as well. I appreciate the beauty you have captured. I film all the footage for my videos too:

    Great Stuff again, with so many sea birds. Always a pleasure to watch how you make your videos, and the accompanying music. I always look forward to your videos, as I can learn not only about the birds, but how you make your videos with Filmora, which you referred me to. (Still learning that)
    PS: I have dropped the Sam Sabastian name which was a pseudonym.

      @naturephotographychallenge  ปีที่แล้ว

      Aha!! I wondered where Sam went?! 🤣 How are you going with Filmora?? I still really like it. I keep learning new things. That pan & zoom thing for the photos is a new thing I learned & I like it as it adds a bit of animation to a still photo (makes up for shaky video particularly when it was so windy on this trip!!!).

      @@naturephotographychallenge I am enjoying Filmora 12. Easy to work through, and does just about everything I want. It is also being regularly upgraded with new bits and pieces regularly. I still have a great deal to learn, but it is enjoyable. You can view one of my first efforts here. th-cam.com/video/JX7Hho4voRA/w-d-xo.html

    Once you’ve been on a pelagic you will want more. And most of us have had a cancelled weekend in Port Fairy. It’s definitely worth it on sea or land.

    • @naturephotographychallenge
      @naturephotographychallenge  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can imagine they get cancelled every now & then which is expected. 😀 Nimal is on a waiting list at the moment but I'm sure he'll get a spot on the boat in the next few months. And even more of a bonus over the winter months.... whales!! 😃 Now that would be super cool!!

    • @spottypiglet

      @@spottypiglet oh!! I hope it doesn't take Nimal that many times to finally get out there! I guess we just keep waiting and hoping it goes ahead.

    Another great video. Do you plan on potentially finding the Orange-bellied Parrot at the Western treatment plant this year? I know that you've been before. Keep up the good work, this channel surely deserves more attention.

    • @naturephotographychallenge

      Thanks 😀 The OBP would be one of those birds that would be amazing to see & photograph... however, probably not as they are endangered and we would respectfully stay away if they were reported at the WTP. Melbourne Water will shut down the zones where the OBP have been seen which is a very good thing.

      @@naturephotographychallenge Yes, that is definitely a good thing, with there being less than 30 wild individuals.

    Better luck next time for the boat trip.
    How do you scout locations? Do you have a guide? Thanks

    • @naturephotographychallenge
      @naturephotographychallenge  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We always visit the Information Centre & pick up brochures on local reserves & bird watching spots. Port Fairy had some great brochures! Nimal also keeps a check on ebird to see what birds have been seen around an area so he already had some ideas of places to go when we got there. 😀
