I'm pretty much speechless... Mr Potter was having an extremely "on" night it seems. And that basically means wholely and completely transcendent. Maybe the most technical facility of any saxophone player I've ever heard.

His technical capability has never been what impressed me, it's how he uses it musically. When most people are asked what piece comes to mind from Chris Potter, its the transition of his solo into the bridge on Train from Follow The Red Line. Any number of Coltrane Clones can run the changes, but Chris has such fresh musical ideas regardless of the time and all the facility in the world to pull off those ideas.

I'll never understand how people can have conversations when people like this are playing.

Music is about entertaining somehow, so talking audience mean confortable audience, wich mean that you're band is playing well. So it's cool.

I adore Chris' everything especially when he goes Eastern/Oriental and Spiritual - as I wish to say.

I love the sound adopted by Chris - spiritual and haunting.
That Goblins and Gypsies are flouncing in the Celestial can be sensed on account of the hymnodic mood created by Christopher.
Chris's "summa-cum-laude" performance can hardly be overemphasized; it defies all superlatives, so to speak.
Wish to see him in friendly duel with James Carter.
    Won't that be something - - - "Hugest"?

Potter is Potter, he's as godly as always, but that drummer combined with that guitarist sure made this tasty!
