    Great tut. You can also use the flood fill to random grayscale to randomize the rock height, with some of the rocks pushed further down into the ground.

    ya im not understanding my graph is set to 16 bit but should i be in paralax occlusion or displace tessalation because im still not getting depth/volume

      The more bits, the more resources the texture consumes

    I've tried this 3 times with no luck on the height!

    Jeremy its me again lol...sorry if being boring but....after i changed from 8 to 16bit I got fine results, however that pattern is still below visible range until I try to color it....than it emerges again...tiniy zebra patterns all over surface of rocks...so is this approach even connectable with coloring? Or perhaps I should just put one color on it, and then use noises and apply them as mask in order to get diverse colors?

      You’re not boring at all no worries! You’ll have to change either the whole graph to 16 bit or the nodes that are causing the issue. I’d say pick the approach that makes the most sense to you when it comes to coloring. The mask idea sounds like a good path.

    Hy Jeremy....not sure what happened I did comment already but guess I didnt publish it lol....anyway, I m having problem at the moment when we connect nodes to output...to make them visible in 3d view...and at that point i get weird result....so shape of rocks is good, I suppose you cranked scale on height up to 5 or even more to get such displacement going on, but other than that all good...however on surfaces of rocks I m getting some weird dense stripes pattern....do you have any idea why? Your rock surface is clean and neat and i have like dense zebra skin pattern except its in repetitive pattern....not sure what am I doing wrong...

      You might have the bit depth set to 8 instead of 16 for the graph. Try changing the graph’s bit depth. Or you could try changing the normal node’s bit depth.

    I do repeat every step, but it doesn't work.Just flat grayscale terraces without height.

      Some troubles with AO, don't know how to solve

      @JeremySeiner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm. Just out of curiosity are you using parallax occlusion or tessellation in the 3D view?

      @@JeremySeiner thanks,i found how to turn on parallax occlusion mapping,and i got volume, but it doesen't solve problem with strange terrased AO. The steps are disappeared after i was connected height blend in both layers of the last blend node.Thanks so much of fast feedback!Your tutorials are best.
