- Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy is a seasonal Halloween overlay of Space Mountain at Disneyland. It first premiered at Disneyland on September 25, 2009, as part of the Halloween season at the parks. It makes use of effects previously used for the Rockin' Space Mountain overlay in 2007.

Inside the Space Port, the planet screen at the front of the station has been changed to reflect the overlay, as well. While viewing the planet, a green "storm" appears over the planet, causing interruptions to the video feed. Static appears, then a blue screen, reminiscent of the Windows Blue Screen of Death, saying "SIGNAL LOST," "SEARCHING..." and "SIGNAL ESTABLISHED".

the best ride in disneyland period! ever since i was a kid in the 80's i loved this ride and still to this day is my favorite and i enjoy taking my kids on it now.
My first time on Space Mountain was a few months ago when it was Ghost Galaxy, and I had my eyes closed for the whole time but the music definitely made it more scary. I've heard the normal music and that's a completely different mood, can't wait to try it again when it's not Ghost Galaxy.
Well, now I freakin love this!!!! Not scary fro me anymore, so now I'll go look up that E-T Alien Encounter.

I added this video to my 'Disneyland Anaheim Resort', my 'Space Mountain', and my 'Disney Magic During the Holiday Season' playlists. I may be overreacting when I say this, but I really *DO* loathe what they did to the Space Mountain ride at the original Disneyland Resort here in California. in fact, I greatly despise what they did to the entirety of the beauty that was once Tomorrowland. Star Wars Land is such an abomination. Hyperspace Mountain is an atrocity. I miss the old Tomorrowland and the original Space Mountain. I never once got to ride on the Ghost Galaxy version of that pristine ride. I never got to see Space Mountain during the holiday season. Ghost Galaxy still counts as Space Mountain during the holiday season because whether we get it off from school and/or work or not, Halloween still counts as a holiday. I don't care that we still never really get the daylight hours off on October 31st. it's a holiday, simple as that.
Love space mountain but that freaked me out!! :|
