      @@silviucat If the battery has a good warranty, you shouldn't have to replace many cells. If at some point one cell was to go bad and you replace it with a new one while the other 15 have aged might cause other problems.

    That’s a really sweet battery build! So much tjme and thought was put into those internals! Thanks for sharing!
    In regard to the heating pads, you mention that the BMS will try to keep the battery at a warmer temp, but everything shut down when you had a low temp alarm. So does that mean that if you truly have a low temp situation that you need to use an external source to warm up the batteries in order to charge? It’s nice that the BMS tries to keep things warm, but if it’s unable to, you can’t use the heating pads to warm up the batteries before charging can commence? Am I just missing something?

    • @Roll2Videos
      @Roll2Videos  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I spoke with Pytes and was told it disconnected and alarmed because the sensors were more than 15°C temperature difference which identified a fault, not a low temperature event. The heating comes on at 5°C while charging.

    • @AdamDeLay07
      @AdamDeLay07 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Roll2Videos gotcha. So in theory, the heater should be able to keep up. The only reason it faulted was due to your “deep freeze” test. Thanks!

    Thanks for the video. Nice intro video on this battery, but would have liked a more detailed review.
    I like the terminal covers and the SOC indicator.
    I don't like that it is not serviceable - welded cells.
    Could you please show the PC software and its setup options in future videos. I have not seen this BMS yet. Could you show how the battery balances, I assume it has only weak passive balancing. I would like to see how the battery communicates with other batteries and if it has the possibility in the PC software to display data from multiple batteries in one window.
    The most interesting feature is the Wifi connectivity, which many batteries don't have and which I would also like to see detailed in other videos how it works and what the Wifi app looks like and what all it allows.
    Can this battery also connect to Home Assistant?

    • @Roll2Videos

      Great comment! I don't think I will be getting a second battery, unfortunately.
      I will make a follow-up video in the future testing some items you've listed. The wifi stick is in the mail, I do believe it will connect with solar assistant. 👍😁

      @tiborchren 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Roll2Videos You have a different Pytes battery that you have shown in the past, their BMS are not compatible?
      The question on Home assistant was meant to suggest that the Pytes guys or another BMS manufacturer would read the comment and see this as an opportunity to add this feature to their future BMS. Only the JK-JBD-BMS interface board has plug-and-play Home assistant connectivity, at least as far as I know.
      Wi-fi connectivity should be standard on all BMSs today, along with active balancing and excellent Wi-fi, Bluetooth and PC apps.

      @@Roll2Videos You say "I don't think I will be getting a second battery, unfortunately" - is that a price thing? Or due to compatibility with your existing system? Something else?

      @@andrewdunham8973 Sorry should have been more clear on that. Companies send me these products to review. I don't think Pytes is willing to send me a second one for review. I could buy a second one but why would I when other companies are waiting to send me theirs for a reduced price to make videos? This battery will no doubt work with multiple Pytes batteries and my system as a whole (future to come).
      Thank you for the question. 😁

    I live in Puerto Rico and some solar companies tend to sell used batteries as new. Unsatisfied clients return their equipment, and the solar companies keep passing them to a new buyer and retaining the new equipment for them or another client. How can I know if my Pytes battery is really a new one or not? The Meritsun batteries have a running cycle and that was how I noticed the battery I bought was an old one.

      @@Roll2Videos I wanted to learn. So I started out with a 12 volt system also. But the thing I'm most interested in if a 48v inverter victron ideally would be quieter. Than their 24v multiplus inverter. My theory was because it doesn't get as hot fans wouldn't work as hard

    So at/below 5°C heaters turn on to keep the battery at good temperature (i guess +5°C) for charging/discharging. how much watt per hour is this feature using? Does it use the energy from the battery itself until it is empty in case there is noch charging on a very bad day? When it is empty, does it pull the energy from grid until it has enough energy to maintain the heating without grid energy and it is able to cold start? All this questions come down to: is this heating feature economical or does it pull a lot of energy during winter time? thanks a lot, nice video
