    This was a game changer for me. Appreciate your knowledge!
    The one thing I had to figure out for me was when I selected the interfaces, as you outlined at 4:35, I needed to expand these folders. I have an 8 channel and 2 channel interface. I needed to make sure all of the interfaces " audio in" were set correctly. Reason why, is for when I set up the corresponding inputs with track numbers, as outlined at 5:00, I'm able to have the needed options to do so. Before I changed this setting I didn't see the available inputs to set up. After making the adjustment, everything was easy.

    Latency is a HUGE problem on Windows for this method. The Mac drift correction built in makes it a much better option for doing this sort of thing. I use the Mac aggregate device method as an inears setup and the latency is virtually non-existent. If you're a windows user, to be on the safe side, get an interface with the right number of channels

    Is it also possible to have multiple outputs? so you can route a certain mixer track to one output and have it only play on that output? I am trying to use a talk box without using a synth by putting a vst in a mixer track, and routing it to only 1 output and into the talkbox to generate sound using a simple midi controller. that way I can hear the other music on the normal output and record the talkbox with only the synths sound entering the talkbox.

      You should be, at least in Windows 10. I constantly run both Cubase and Maschine at the same time with two different audio interfaces. The trick, at least in my scenario is, that the two interfaces are different, i.e. they use different drivers. But... I can't confirm every software allows you to do this, but at least those two allow, as I can freely choose which audio interface I use in said software packages.

Haven't checked the latency yet. The problem is when recording with headphones. Can only hear the interface channels that the head phones are hooked to. • @szeredaiakos

    If you are using optical, you can pass the optical signal directly into the sound solution of your PC, provided it has input for it. Which you probably want to use. The preamps of motherboards are usually bad but DAC and ADC solutions of motherboards are significantly higher performance than the interface counterparts. 192k 32bit float has been on those chips for the past decade.
    Obviously, ASIO is a must. Also, some external interfaces come with their own ASIO drivers which do provide a little bit less latency than the open source drivers. A 64 sample buffer should be manageable my most modern hardware, if you want that really immediate response.

    ASIO4ALL is known not to work with all interfaces. A lot of them having not all channels showing up or only inputs or even not at all. Furthermore it is buggy. It also may cause your interface to behave strange. This is my experience with it.

    Great video! One question tho: if I wanted to reamp with this method, would there be any problem (such as latency issue or quality loss etc)? I'm havin an issue of lacking outputs rather than inputs.
    Cheers✌

    • @Scorge120
      @Scorge120  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interesting. There isn't any quality loss with this setup, or at least it wouldn't be any different than using just one interface with more outputs in terms of sound fidelity. Latency will definitely be an issue because you're using ASIO4ALL drivers instead of the drivers that come with your interface, and ASIO4ALL is very latency.
      What I would do is run a short transient (like a pure sine wave) and use that notch in each re-amped track to re-align everything. By aligning tracks that way you can get things perfectly in sync as far as phase is concerned.

      I'm not quiet sure if I understood that correctly since I am not a experienced producer but basically; do a latency check and adjust the DIs accordingly. Right?

      @@frankylitoy2796 I can't quite figure out how to do this. Could you please give a quick tutorial on how I could do this in the DAW of your choice? Maybe I could figure out how to apply that to my usecase (or I might start using the same DAW as you to achieve this)

      Animiles In order for you to use other media player/social media playing audio that's using one of your audio interface's main OUTS while using your DAW. In your case TH-cam which uses the default or selected audio output setup on your desktop. Just make sure one of your Audio Interface's main OUTS selected on ASIO4ALL are unchecked, and not being unused on your DAW's Bus OUTS.

    I'm on Mac, one problem im having with the aggregate device thing. each interface only has one audio jack input so when im wanting to record out of my spare interface, the recording of the vocal comes though however the audio for the backing track or instrumental comes out of my main interface only. Any idea how to fix that so I can hear the backing track in both my interfaces
