- Yes guys. Im back in a Ferrari! This time its a 2010 Ferrari California, but don't worry its not perfect. Its a project car. This all started out because my Bentley was providing itself to be unreliable, and I decided I needed something more reliable. Like a Ferrari.
I know this makes no sense. But then its cars. Who said it needs to make sense!

You are perfectly on point when you say that people looking down at the California saying that it is not a proper Ferrari have no idea what they are talking about. It was developed when Scuderia Ferrari was in its prime and a lot of F1 technology was used in its development, the great Michael Schumacher himself took part of its development performing the test drives and giving his advices. It's one of the few Ferrari that you can drive daily, it is very reliable overall compared to many other models, it drives great, it has a timeless Pininfarina design that gets better and better over the years, one of the last NA V8 with its iconic sound. Only who drives it everyday knows.
I agree , I got out of a 2021 Vett HTC , they are great cars and certainly a value but not even close to Ferrari Cali T ( in my case ) quality , comfort although handling and speed is about the same to me . I can’t understand the depreciation of these and how people seem to put 2000 miles on them and then get out . Is it the repair costs and frequency of repairs ? I haven’t experienced that so far albeit I have a warranty . I think they are beautiful looking and a blast to drive
How are you handling servicing and repairs. Do you have any independent contacts . I like these but servicing and parts costs do worry. How do Ferrari owner cope .
This will be controversial, but I reckon the Gen 1 California is one of the best Ferraris you can buy. Im going to make a video to explain why.
I agree with everything you said. Spot on.
Agree. I love driving mine. So far I have driven thousands of KM. I just did a 2k kms round trip and next month will be driving to Dubai and back. I'll be filming it all for future videos.
Personally I will be buying all the parts myself and having my mechanics do everything at my instruction. I also have my Ferrari mechanic in London on speed dial!
Can't believe you bought it without testing the roof mechanism!! Hoping no issues with that for you. 🤞 California's are great looking Ferrari's and a good starting point with the brand (can be cost effective - if you get a good one). These should be used/driven daily and enjoyed. Thanks for video. 👍
Yes I know I really should have checked it. But I was keen to get the car because of the price. I'll let you into a secret I did have a problem with the roof, but I managed to get it resolved. I'll be doing a video on the whole saga.
I have been really really looking into one of these lately. I put 34K miles on my Porsche in 1 1/2 years. I drive 20K+ a year. There was one in San diego in this condition for 59K USA. I had a 355 that was a pos. this car will be much much better
Nice going, thanks for the video.
Congrats! Looks good for the age and mileage. Enjoy.
Cheers man!
Perfect :) Always remember to keep a small issue unresolved, that does the trick with Italian cars. As they always need to have drama, these cars have a soul haha.
Very true! When i travel back to London all my cars there have no issues. Its seems extremely strange to say the least!
Congrats .... enjoy it in good health.
Many thanks! Enjoying it!
Im buying a california 2011 with 93000km is that alot? Im planning on daily driving it
Hello brother
It appears that you’re in Saudi as well
I’m currently looking at a 2013 Ferrari California with 40,000 Km
The seller says that he changed its color with no accidents whatsoever
And that it needs gearbox sensors only
He is asking for 185,000 SAR
Would you say that’s a good price?
And how much would the sensors cost?
I’d really appreciate any notes or tips or things to look for or consider
Thank you
1:15 honestly, for that reason alone I hope you can win a bugatti or a koenigsegg
Why does the dash look almost like it's melted around the left screen lol
Yup it has probably due to the heat in Saudi. Its the same finish that usually causes the sticky buttons. Im not too fussed about it to be honest. Got bigger issues to resolve!
I'd love to one day own a Ferrari. The California is nice but, I really do like the V12 and adult-friendly rear seats of the FF. I love the F458 Italia but, it's way out of my price range. The FF, F430, Portofino, and California, or even the GTC4Lusso or 488 Pista could be in my price range if I am frugal enough with my money.
All of those are great choices, and 458 is probably one of the best ever. Naturally aspirated V8, and looks fab. I think an FF will be on the cards at some point, or a Lusso. More usable for sure. But for now im really enjoying this California. About to go on a 3k road trip next weekend.
@@supercartribe How comfortable are the seats in the Ferrari California.
But why not a California T?
how much did u pay for it?
I will share all purchase and maintenance costs in a future video. Stay tuned!
Crikey, you bought a dog! I trust it was 30-40% off the price of the next car that you could have bought?
I'm not keen on matte wraps but it really does look good for that car. Makes it look almost like a Bat Mobile!
Yes price was very good and will do a costing video of how much it cost me.
Unfortunately for me I dont like the Matt Black, and the guy before me didnt wrap it. He painted it!
@@supercartribe ouch!
The fact Jay Leno will not buy one says it all.
Not really. This is a great car in its own right. Especially as a daily driver. For him probably he wants something more special.
I hope u got good price looks a pig mate. Totally abused. It’s not an F1 gearbox btw, the F1 was automated manual single clutch, the Cali was first Ferrari to have dual clutch (DCT).
Price was good and now i've been daily driving it for a number of months. Absolutely loving it!
Thanks on the DCT info too. I didnt realise it was a completely different type. Gearbox is great BTW especially with the dual clutch. Amazing.
@@supercartribe cool glad your enjoying it. I have a tdf blue 2011 cali. The dct is what makes them so quick for their not massive 460hp and for what is a heavy car.
All these you tube stuff never reveal the honest amount of purchase price which is what most viewers really care about. Blah blah blah useless real world info.
