    Wow, this should've been the standard configuration. If someone wants to conserve energy, they should actively choose that option instead of having a compromised viewing experience right from the start.

    • @bobthemagicmoose
      @bobthemagicmoose ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I bet the regulations and reporting standards are based on the default modes and they want to satisfy them while also giving you the option to change it. Washers etc I think are the same.

    • @עולםתיקון
      @עולםתיקון ปีที่แล้ว +2

      But how often do average consumers actually discover and utilize that option?
      Unless they delve into the fine print and discover this workaround, they're essentially paying more for less.

    This is not just a Samsung thing. Every TV is sold in Energy saving mode on auto here in the UK and EU to consumers by every brand. LG, Sony and other brand ES mode is also hidden within the settings. Most people who are in the comments section are mostly rep from different brands so beware if you’re a consumer looking at these comments. There are only a handful of enthusiasts in these TV reviewer community who can afford t own all of these TVs. rest of them are brand rep working hard to sell their own for commission or can’t sell one (S*NY)😅

      @@campersruincod6134 that's why I said we need better regulations s because they aren't there yet. The setting shouldn't be removed but it shouldn't be hidden. Majority of users don't touch the advanced settings any way.
      As for other problems, brands will lie about their energy use with these settings. No one uses them and they destroy the high numbers they also cité, but they are there to make regulators believe the TV is more power effecient than it actually is

    • @campersruincod6134

    • @wile123456
      @wile123456 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@campersruincod6134 yes it's too much to ask. Products have to be designed for the lowest common denominator. Filmmaker mode doesn't need to exist but tis great that it does because now instead of only 1% of users who knew the proper settings, it's now far more people who can watch movies in accurate colour and brightness.
      Products being well designed benefits everyone. Destroy the idiotic smugness in you and pride you feel about being smarter than other consumers, it's about power dynamics and consumers need all the protection they can always

    • @KentPhillips
      @KentPhillips ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wile123456 I think you are misunderstanding something. Regulations are the reason why these systems were implemented on TVs by default to begin with. Its all in order to meet energy requirements set by governments across the world. Take motorcycles for example. Back in the day there weren't limits on how fast Japanese manufacturers could make their bikes. Then the Japanese government said "that's too dangerous" so manufactures were required to put speed limiters to 189 mph/304kph. So if you want to get the most out of modern bikes, for the track for example, you have to install a new exhaust and tune/ unlock the ECU/Computer on said bike.

    To be honest, all these SmartTV OS's are total crap. You have to tweak a thousand settings, in every single picture mode just tl get a neutral image. Also, for example an an LG TV, you have to go to the advanced settings to reduce brightness and to activate blue light filter, which i use every evening before going to bed. On the next day, you have to tweak those settings again. An an Smartphone this is just a few tips, or you can set a time zone when blue light filter is on. Is just total crap. You cant even display the time on webOS unless you wait for the standby screen or go into the time zone settings.
    Why the hell cant an company like Apple bring a TV with an intuitive software, with only a few settings that you really need and deliver it with a neutral picture out of the box. Maybe the other manufacturers like LG, Sony, Samsung, Philips and Panasonic would hope on the train, then...
