I think for me, I would paint vase, then place flowers. Only because I am the worlds biggest klutz! Turned out very pretty. That’s because you have a steady hand.
I have watched you over & over on how beautiful you mod podge these items. I try over & over trying to make things as beautiful as you do. It NEVER works for me. Lol So, THANK YOU for sharing. I enjoy watching you make beautiful things. 😊❤✌
First I want to say thank you I'm happy you like my work... maybe we can figure out where you're going wrong? I'm sorry that happens, just know that I don't always get it right the first, second, third or even fourth time 😂 It takes a lot of patience and time to learn. I still mess up so please don't get discouraged. 🤗
Love this! ♥ I find vases at my local Goodwill for next to nothing! Definitely going to try this technique. It's beautiful! I always look for the pretty paper napkins on the marked down shelf! Thanks for showing us how it's done!
Hey Gayle! Thank you... to think I almost left it without any. When I first made it I didn't plan the white outlines but once I saw how it looked with just the roses and yellow paint, I knew it needed something to make it pop! 🤗
Hello, there is a reason I took the steps I did in the video. Trust me when I tell you I don't like to complicate my projects any more than they need to be. If you paint the vase the color you want before placing the paper napkin designs, the paint will show through them. When decoupaging with paper napkins, a white base is usually needed. There are exceptions to the rule, but for the most part that's standard practice.
As I was crafting I was going to leave it at just the roses and the yellow paint but I knew it needed something to make it pop. Detail is very important when creating a piece. Thank you, God bless! 💗🤗
I have an updated video where I figured out a way to paint the vase first and then decoupage the roses over it. It's way easier then having to paint around it. Here is the link incase you're interested. th-cam.com/video/dozoxvBOPfM/w-d-xo.html
Thank you!... and it's not hard, just time-consuming waiting for things to dry before doing the next... plus the cutting of every single rose. For the outlining, if you're not good at painting, you can use a white paint marker, white nail polish (the one that has the thin brush to design with) white liquid eyeliner or a white marker if you can find one. The only thing that has a learning curve is the decoupaging. For beginners, I always suggest buying cheap paper napkins (dollar store) to practice with before trying a project like this. 🤗
Connie Towler it's easy an if you mess up wash it off. I did one bottle 4xs. Before I was happy. Being acrylic paint all boo boo's wash right off. And half the fun is gluing yourself to the table.
If you want to make this project simpler, here are some tips. 1.) Don't use color, just the white base. It gets tricky when adding the color. 2.) If you use color, paint the vase fully with the desired color first instead of following this video and use my updated paper napkin appliques to decoupage over the color. That would be the easiest way. Here is my paper napkin applique video. th-cam.com/video/TtmV3AFkI7c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hu4TOE9t_l2pr14Q I hope this helps. God bless🙏🏼🤗
Wow! That is so beautiful! When you were painting the yellow I couldn’t figure why you hadn’t decoupaged over yellow paint. When you began the detail paining though I actually said “Oooooh, now I get it” out loud. The finished vase is STUNNING!
Very Beautiful. Thanks for sharing yet another wonderful video.. Good luck to you my Dear and you have made me so PROUD of you. May God always bless you and guide you through. I have always enjoy watching your videos... xoxoxo...
You are the best at this!! I have so many vases I can do this to. I've tried a few times and it's not turned out good, but you give me hope to try it again 🤗🤗
Thank you! That is so nice of you but I can assure you that I'm not 😂 okay maybe in the designs 😅but decoupaging does not come easily to me either. I'm so happy you're not giving up though because it really does have a learning curve. I'm sure you'll get it soon. Happy crafting! 🙏💖🤗
WOW that's soooop beautiful, l have to try it. Was looking for some blue and white vases on line their a lil pricey, I will be trying this. Thanks for sharing :) :) :) new subbie.
Ok people.. I've am trying to do this and it is not as easy as it looks.. BUT I'm not stopping because I love this. I'll never be able to do this lines nor will I be able to paint around those flowers but I'll figure it out.. 😉
Decoupaging is a technique you have to practice. There is a definite learning curve. If you are having trouble using the paint you can use paint markers or nail design white nail polish, the one that has the very thin brush... you can also use white liquid eyeliner or a white marker if you can find one. Glad to hear you're not giving up! Make it work for you honey lol
Becky Lynn after everything is dry (deco base coat) you can use painters tape(it's blue) to paint your lines and then once dry take it off and it won't leave any marks
I just found your channel and I liked it, I especially like this yellow with blue flowers vase. You just got a new subscribed! Thank you for sharing =)
I didn't for two reasons. The first is because I didn't want the yellow showing through the white parts of the roses. I wanted that to stay white so it would pop when I added the white outline. The second is, if your base color is too dark, not saying this yellow is, but if it is, when you glue down the napkin it will look awful. The napkin is very thin and that's why most people use white as a base but that's not always the case. There are exceptions to the rule, it is crafting after all 😂
Hello love your work. I have a question I am making 2 wine bottle lamps and I have put a stickers design around the bottle they are peel and stick how can I keep from lifting up? ty
I believe I bought them online years ago. I don't remember the store. I might have put it in the description box. Have you checked the what I used list?
I should have addressed that in the video, my apologies. No, when you decoupage a paper napkin, it has to be with white underneath or a very light color... or the napkin design won't look right. Plus, it's always best to prime your pieces before adding the color. It just looks better. I know it's a lot of work but it's so worth it when you finally finish. 🤗
I'm afraid I just checked where I got them and they no longer sell them. If you Google "blue roses paper napkins" some should show up. You might be able to find some on Etsy, eBay or Amazon. Thank you and I hope you find some. 🙏💖🤗
Hello, 👋 you can if you seal it with a clear spray waterproof sealer. You can also use epoxy resin. If you don’t know how to resin a vase, there are lots of channels that explain the process. Mix Media Girl and CraftKlatch are two channels that use resin on vases. Hope that was helpful! 🙏🏽🤗
@@DIYNoNeedToCry Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I love the way you did this vase and I will humbly attempt it… I am a little nervous about using resin at this point….so I will go with the water based sealer spray Thanks again 🙏🙏

DIYNoNeedToCry. Can i ask you why you didn't paint it all yellow? Would the yellow have shown through the napkin?
Yes, it would. 🤗

i prefer the vase without the yellow paint.😊👍👍👍
💕🤗
Perfect
TY! 🤗
Very nice.
Thank you! 😊🤗
Beautiful! Curious as to why you didn’t paint the vase before decoupaging the flowers?
Hello Carol, because the napkin design won't look right with yellow under it. It has to be with white or a very light color and thanks! 🤗
Love!

Love watching your videos..Have a good day..Lori

Hi Tina, thank you! You can glue them down with mod podge or any crafting glue you have... maybe a glue stick?... might even be neater. 🤗
We’re did you found your napkins, vey pretty congratulations 👏👏😍👌

Can you put water and real flowers in this vase???
Considering the paint and mod podge
