yes the space black is very bad for fingerprints. I have 2 machines from the M3 generation in space black and both have wear marks on them one of which goes down to the silver bare metal from an Apple Watch band. I would go silver.
I own the Macbook Pro 16 inch M1 and the Macbook Air 13 inch M2, have now sold the Air and have recently owned the Macbook Pro 14 inch M4 Pro in silver with the nano texture display and I love it. For me the best upgrade
I knew it with 32GB Unified memory and the Adobe suite. you are using it to increase your memory pressure......for mine, I have a 16-inch M2 max with 64GB RAM, and it's so good with no memory pressure.
I'm not sure as you why you're fully speced out laptop couldn't handle all these design programs at the same time. They're not even davinci resolve or Blender, and I don't think indesign and photoshop should freeze. My windows laptop with 1660ti graphics card can handle design softwares and browsers really well. It's possible you may have gotten a faulty product. I'm also surprised that the battery hour didn't last as long as expected. Other reviewers had glorifying review on battery life.
Yeah it was really frustrating to go through that, I went to the Genius bar and they said everything including battery is working normally. Expectations vs real world use cases I guess…
Faulty?? Are you kidding? No, shes running processor intensive applications its going to run the battery down fast. The 24 hour battery life test is based off running 1080p video and one browser tab. 10 years ago running what she is running would only give her 2 hours of battery life. 8 hours is amazing for what she is running You cant run processor at 100% and expect the max battery life.
It seems like the Mac facing some software-related issues, csz the current M4 chips have compatibility issues with some softwares. I'm currently using the M3 Pro and still think it's a powerhouse. I mainly use IntelliJ, MongoDB, AWS, Postman, Docker, and a ton of other applications like browser tabs and various other apps. Despite all this, it continues to perform quickly as usual. While the M4 is a solid option, I don't feel the need to upgrade at this time. I've heard that the M4 Max drains its battery more quickly after it reaches 60-70%, especially with extensive tasks like Photoshop and video editing.
I run a lot of investment tracking XLS . One was giving constant rainbow spin were others ran smoothly. Iam not a teckie but found out some formulas could be the culprit. Completely redone Same XLS with same parameter fixed the problem . Don't ask the exact fault trigger. Just bought a M4Pro which Apple is not very keen in working with XLS a Microsoft product . Exporting The Dow market data with my new M4Pro, you get a .CSV file that Apple SCOFS at. After hours of searching found a work around Apple's NUMBERS Apps (which opens the exported data. I cannot apply my macros to the NUMBERS type file download

They sent it to me in space gray accidentally when I ordered silver just last week but actually I ended up keeping it because I thought it looks more sleek :3
@@jdsd_ no. another model with different specs. i was meaning about the colour. it looks much more sleek now and i used to love the silver so i didn't return. if i was to pick between black and silver for the M4 since no other colours available, i would go for silver too

Your bottleneck was the unified memory / ram but I think you knew that as shown. The adobe apps are terribly optimized still somehow and eat memory like no other. Cheers for your new machine and the amazing silver.

The Apple Store was right for once, your issue was likely software related. You may not even require a pro for your workflow.

I think it's an OS problem-they always make sure that the Adobe software doesn't run well

SSD speed is still sluggish and they did not use Wifi-7 as well. Those are the drawbacks.
i bought macbook pro space black, not many finger print like macbook air, not bothering me, and i agree with the nano texutre is worth it :)
