Joplin fits very well on harpsichord- you should do Eugenia next, I had a chance to play on a replica a while back and it sounded nice, as much of it as I was able to play
I'm now working a bit on Eugenia, at least on the first part for now. I was able to do quarter-comma meantone and Rameau's TO; for the moment being, 34-edo seems much more problematic... but let's see if I'm able to get it working 😉
Here's a fragment from Eugenia, tuned into 31-edo and into Rameau's Tempérament Ordinaire: th-cam.com/video/yOvPKbXALvc/w-d-xo.html 🙂For the moment being, 34-edo seems rather intractable instead 🤔
Hello, it's not A = 432... C was set to 260Hz, corresponding to A = 441.75 Hz (please don't forget that 17-edo minor third is flat (282.353 cents) This piece is in Ab, which happens to be tuned at 407.15 Hz. Please don't forget either that chromatic semitone is sharp in 17edo (141.176 cents).
Maple Leaf Rag really exemplifies 34edo's 5-limit consonance! Please post more 34edo arrangements :)
I was going to say the same thing . . . .
Nice arrangement and nice sound!
It works surprisingly well, almost as if 34EDO was designed for this.
Sounds really good! Thank you :)
Could you do this same type of "syntonic comma adjusted" arrangement for this piece in 46edo?
This would be interesting to hear…
It would be definitely interesting... I can't do it immediately, though 🙂
This has been done: th-cam.com/video/GXIoWsvFMzI/w-d-xo.html

so with the excellent 5 limit of 34, its more like a well tuned piano? the opposite of a detuned one?? ANTI HONKY PIANO TONK??
@@redopal9796 YES!
An anti-honky Harpsi-Tonk 😉- an almost-well tempered one, of course 🙂
Gorgeous ❤
