This is priceless music but ain’t anybody gonna give a shout-out to Roger’s jacket? My dad knew him in high school back in Oklahoma; he had stories. Used to be a place in Erick called Cal’s Cafe where, according to a sign on one of the booths, Roger used to sit and write songs after school.
He sure was , Buddy will own the bench mark forever. Talent, tone , and above all he had taste. There are great steel players , then there is Buddy Emmons.
Buddy playing here with the Buckaroos? Doyle Holley liked to do a walk-down thing which you hear here in the intro, getting from the V to the I, as well as other times over that progression. What an entertaining cut!
Buddy plays both necks on this one, C6 and E9. intro and solo are C6 and the fills while Roger sings are E9. but there is some question as to whether Buddy is actually playing live here
Great seeing Buddy playing a Sho Bud Steel...
Great pedal steel guitarist! Great singer!
Love your wonderful leather coat….. SIR
Buddy Emmons is the reason I started playing Pedal Steel Guitar.

A great, amazing steel picker
Two brilliant artists!
Sad Roger died way too young. One great singer, and song writer, and funny!

Steel players notice he's playing C6th and never uses any pedals. May have been using a track like they did on lots of Hee Haw shows
