In this clip, Jon B talked about making the track "Are You Still Down" featuring Tupac. He detailed their studio session and the good vibes that were exchanged on musical and purely human levels. Jon B said he was taken aback when he learned that Pac really dug his music. He also recounted how the label didn't want to put out their collaboration due to having such disparate images. However, Pac's untimely death just two weeks after their studio session changed that. - บันเทิง
Jon B originally said that he didn’t want to release the song, because Tupac had just died and he didn’t want to make it seem like he was clout chasing off of his death. But Tupac’s mother Afeni told Jon, that Tupac played that song for her and He was very proud of it. So she gave him her blessing to release. That’s what He would have truly wanted ❤️
Yep, I heard him say that on "UnSung".
Why change his story for vlad??🤔
Just a Good song. 2pac & r&b is 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
The right way to go about it , that’s mad respect gettin the blessing from Afeni
That was beutifull
Jon B was a hidden gem of our time back then.
💯
He is a I'll dude
Johnny J too. RIP
First legit interview im honestly interested about..
He really was
Wow Pac was really a student of the game, him having Jon B's album in his car basically studying him to understand his style and adapt to it. That's amazing! Tells you Pac had a true passion for music.
Imiko yes sir
What?! I can’t believe you said that.Wow,You didn’t know Pac at all huh?
Right! But,He knows his place though with many of the old school artist I’ve noticed. They were in places he wasn’t in and can’t even talk about.lol
Well said champ
Pac only did what real musicians do when they collab. Study each other's style to see how they can compliment each other.
Jon B still looks trim, vibrant, and healthy. God bless you player. God bless your path.
Unfinished Business dont hate. Make sure you get a nice weave this summer to have long hair like white and Spanish women 😂
@Unfinished Business most blacks @44 don't look 10 years younger, just like any race.
Pac and Jon B was a cold ass combo...that song STILL bumps RIGHT NOW.
@Lord Frieza Christ corny.. whats with you weirdos obsessively hating this cat?
@Lord Frieza Christ You really gotta be the lamest dude on youtube...you really need some therapy bruh
@Lord Frieza Christ hating because you cant be anything like him so you project your gayness onto others.
Absolutely 👍
fadethechannel ... #Yep
R U Still Down is one of those collabs that was a sneaky hit. If you didn't know who Jon B was before that song, you became an instant fan after you heard it. That song is still perfect to this day.
Robin Thicke jacked his style
Christopher Jackson lmao yup I was at one of his shows once and he straight up said “ayo FUCK Robin Thicke” on the mic like a G!! Hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣 I love him!!
But Robin Thicke will never be as soulful as Jon B
@@cristamcafeeyoung4515Major. He got me into r&b when all I listened to was Dogg Pound and Wu Tang. No hate to Thicke tho, Luv U Girl is still my shit.
Robin Thicke also copied his mannerisms lol
Robin sounds nothing like Jon. Robin was heavily influenced by Marvin Gaye. You never heard Jon sing in falsetto.
Jon B underrated big time. “They don’t Know” Classic track as well
Yes it is
Kevin Burke how is it underrated when it reached number 7 and still gets heavy rotation
VofNovember good point it was a hit. I just feel Jon is underrated.
Facts
Kevin Burke he’s not underrated. He gets enough shine.
This dude was blessed for sure. He got the last real life pac verse before he died. Mann that’s a fire ass memory
Factssssss..
That was a true studio collab. Not email verse shit they do now a days

yey. not them posthumous "colaborations"

RIP Johnny J. One of Hip Hops most important producers but never gets the recognition he deserves.

Lucid did Johnny J pass away?.
@@melissaonorati2243 yeah he passed away a long time ago like around 2008 i think
He really was a great producer. He didnt need to kill himself. If 2pac was alive, i dont think he would have done it.
Dude... I freaking love Jon B. "Cool Relax" is one of the best R & B albums of the 90's.
💯💯💯💯
Facts! Jon is one of the best 90’s R&B singers and deserves his flowers!
Jon B pairing up with 2Pac was a unique match. Thank GOD that collaboration happened!! ✌🏽🎙😻
Demetria Calvin I concur. Crazy how both artists got classics that are still played heavily these days.

Jon B and Johnny J(RIP)were next level!
@Slab Rider A lot of people will disagree..But I think Johnny was better with Pac then Dre and Daz! Hurts to know police covered Johnny's death with suicide!
💯💯
This really warmed my soul ❤️
Let me take the time out to say Rest In Peace to Tupac and Johnny j. Johnny was definitely His main producer. He produced most of those tracks on All eyez on me, which is still a classic album to this date.
Shenyae T Daz did all the bangers though
David Conov Johnny did most of them and that’s a fact
@@MinnesotaEverythingno he did Johnny J did more songs than Daz did on All Eyez on Me.
Jon B is and Always will be So Dope !!
This man hasn't made a bad song. So underrated! 💗 me some Jon B

I think this is the first interview where Vlad doesn't talk over his guest's story, thank you Vlad. Do this more often.
Only because he’s the same color as Vlad
I noticed that as well. If you pay attention you see that Jon b doesnt give him the chance, he keeps on talking, even when Vlad interrupts.
He has the complexion for the protection

I love Jon B. So underrated. Tupac being the legend that he made such an amazingly beautiful song with Jon. That’s honestly one of my favorite songs of all time.
He is handsome!!
Kind of crazy that this guy is in his mid 40's. He looks 29 at the oldest. Between him looking young and his music, I'm not totally convinced he isn't black.

I don’t blame ya. Black people want everyone to be black. Lol I’m only 1-3 percent black but I’m still seen as biracial or mixed. White people will never be that way.

I was listening to Cool, Relax earlier today. That whole album is fire.

Jon B was promoting Are you still down on a LA radio station was the reason I bought Cool Relax became one of my favorite RB albums of all time
Nice album
He has a colabo with nas also
Finer things
2pac was the only rapper I can think of that could legitimately get on a real r&b song & still make it work without it sounding too street with cussing & vulgar rhymes but not loose the street edge at the same time. The reason being was he was a poetic writer from the heart.
Redman was the same thing back in the 90s when he did songs with Aaron Hall & Jodeci.
2019 & he’s still lookin good!! 😊✅
I'm 30 year old, I was in the 2 grade when I heard of Jon b. He look good for his age, no hard drugs or nothing
