    Very nice edited.
    The area where your ship was docked is called Aker Brygge (brygge = harbour). The old buildings at 5:45 you saw was part of the original ship yard back in the days. Today this whole area is filled with shopping centras and restaurants - and an expencive part of an expencive nation. The hotel you are filming at 8:30 is Grand Hotel where the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize usually are staying.
    To the right where you are walking at 8:43 is the parliament (Stortinget).

    Cool video! New subscriber here! As a Norwegian, I can confirm Norwegians drink beer. A lot of beer actually! Some nice breweries here as well, like Nøgne Ø which is brewed in my hometown!

    I have been to Norway a few times but always via cruise ship, I know you don’t see the country in as much detail but at least you can eat, drink and sleep on the ship, which saves you so much money. If you go back you must go to Vigeland Park, the have many many human sculptures, it’s truly stunning

      Vigeland Park sounds amazing; thanks for the tip!

      Ah, the beer! 🍺😆 We actually saved our taste test for Norwegian beer until the next port, Kristiansand. But you’re right-the town was stunning and spotless! Thanks for watching!

    Beautiful city! Surprised at how small the town is and so few people. Loved your videos and hope you are settling back to land life. 😊

      It’s our capital city, tho small compared to other big European cities, not a town. Few people? Lol are you sure? It’s always packed. It’s a hub for not only the locals, but tourists and business men. I live here and I don’t agree that there are few people unless Easter, winter break and Xmas as that’s when people will either be at their cabins or back in their hometowns with their families.

      @@kilipaki87oritahitimy apologies but compared to some of the cities in our country, USA, there are fewer people. 😊

      Oslo is not even in the top 20 cities of Europe as far as beeing expensive is concerned. You make it sound like Portland or wherever you are from is cheap.. I have been to the US many times and many things are cheaper over here. In New York I found a small beer for $18’ and that is without tips. But, touristy areas are always more expensive no matter where you go.
      The city limits are practically in the «middle of the city», so the built up area is over 1 million, and the metro area is close to 1.8 million. Oh, and Oslo is a city, not a town. All the white houses you saw on the south coast are white. It is an old tradition dating back a long time. :-)
      Oslo is normally a very bustling city, but sometimes quiet like many other cities. Norway is NOT in the European Union, but som places accept € and even US$. I heard you mentioned something in Kristiansand about the currency, so I thought I should mention it.
      Some things are expensive here of course, but at least we don’t have to worry about hospital bills, university fees/tuition and much more. It is all free, and 5 weeks of paid holidays/vacations. If I want to go eg. shopping, London, Paris, Berlin is just a couple of hours away, but these days Oslo has a lot of exclusive shops (Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton just to mention a few). and it is tax-free for tourists. Anyway, you are a nice couple, and I do enjoy your videos. :-)
      Fun fact: We have the second longest coastline in the world. It isn’t the same weather conditions everywhere, like in the US. The south west is normally snow free in the winter. You wouldn’t compare Miami to Anchorage or Portland, right? Even if it is in the same country.. :-)

    Some information, the population of Oslo is not 500k, but 1,1 million. It is expensive for foreigners because average Norwegians most probably earn more than the average Joe in your country.

      @bztravel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the update! We’ll make sure to keep that in mind-1.1 million, got it! And yep, the price tag definitely caught our attention; it’s all relative, isn’t it?

    As from England, we are definitely in the potato/beer part of Europe. I love that description of Europe. How would you describe Bulgaria, wine and tomatoes or beer and potatoes, (what about the vodka countries)

    • @bztravel
      @bztravel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very good wine and the best tomatoes! But we love beer too. In Bulgaria they eat bread with the potatoes.

    BZ: "..Oslo has 500000 inhabitants...". Also BZ: "....Oslo has 700000 inhabitants...." (which is correct).
    BZ: "....we're heading north...". Also BZ: "...next is Kristiansand..." (which is about as far south you can get in Norway ....far south of Oslo)....

    • @bztravel
      @bztravel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You caught us! 🤦‍♂️ Norway had us all turned around! We were so eager to explore, things got a little mixed up on the fly-unscripted adventures can be like that sometimes. Kristiansand definitely threw us off with its spot way down south, especially when we had our minds set on those northern fjords! Appreciate you sticking with us through the mishaps. Next time, we’ll try to keep our compass straight (but no promises 😉). Thanks for watching and keeping us on track!

      @bztravel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well we didn't have a chance to try the beer in Oslo. Our next port, Kristiansand we had beer with our fish. It was perfect!

    How lucky were you with the weather?! Amazing day which makes everything look beautiful. I thought Oslo looked beautiful but a bit too sterile for me. I remain bemused by the EV cult - mostly it seems like outsourcing pollution to China. I'm looking forward to seeing the fjords with you. Thank you as always for taking the time and trouble to vlog and share your amazing adventure with us.

      Oslo surprised us with its sleek, contemporary buildings and upscale vibe. Can’t wait to take you along to the fjords next!

    The food is still way to expensive in Norway.....And that canal is so the men can piss in public into the canal......

    • @kilipaki87oritahiti
      @kilipaki87oritahiti 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s even expensive for us locals, but depends on your currency and where you go. You can eat and buy groceries cheap if you know where to look. Which most foreigners don’t, who are prone to tourist traps: like museums and expensive cafes. And god forbid our kiosks like 7/11, Narvesen and Deli Diluca are not regarded as grocery stores or where you buy food. Tho I see foreigners go to these and then complain how expensive it is, dhu. We have various food stores/chains that offer discounts on fruits and vegetables like the store Kiwi, and Rema 1000, and Bunnpris are the more cheaper ones. The really cheap ones are the immigrant shops.

    • @kilipaki87oritahiti
      @kilipaki87oritahiti 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And you’re wrong about the canal as well.
