Sharing TH-cam videos about Norway and Scandinavia. Episodes about history, food, travel, language, sailing and more.
I will be in Norway for the season. Can’t wait 🥰 and to share this journey with my community 😊
Enjoy Norway! Thanks for sharing :)
Fun video! Thanks for sharing. I did the Norway in a Nutshell trip in a day about 30 years ago. Because it was mid-May, there was still plenty of daylight by the time I got to Bergen. Despite the season, I saw some snowy scenery from one of the trains. I think it was around Myrdal but I could be mistaken; it was a long time ago! Anyway, I very highly recommend Norway in a Nutshell.
I just did this tour March 1,2024. It was so beautiful with the snow.
Glad to hear that! The snow makes it very special for sure
I'm German and I took a train from Steinkjer to Trondheim in July. It was so awesome, especially compared to the experience of travelling by train in Germany. The vending machines in the train were such a pleasant surprise. It was clean, a smooth ride - and of course you get the incredible views! :)
Nice! I've been on the Nordlands Line a few times, always very enjoyable. I thought you had good trains in Germany though... at least that's what I seem to remember from my train trips in Europe 20 years ago :)
@ A LOT has changed since then. The train company used to be owned by the state, now it's private. To put it very shortly, they cut costs by removing rails for example which plays a big role in the fact that nowadays, 70% of long distance trains are delayed, because trains have to constantly wait to overtake. On top of this, the Deutsche Bahn is making 1,2 billion Euros loss each year, while the top managers pay themselves millions in bonuses.
Interesting to know. Same story with privatization in Norway unfortunately... @@LukasKlein
Great video Pål ! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching 🙏
Thank you for these beautiful videos of Norway :)
You are welcome 🙏
thank you for this awesome video!
You Are welcome! Bare hyggelig :)
This sounds like an amazing trip. I need to do this.
It’s highly recommended!
Can’t wait to do this
What's not to love (except of the high prices 😏) Norwegian nature is so powerful!🌱
Hei hei. The concise commentary & the maps were super helpful. Tusen takk.
Hei hei! Thank you! Glad you like it
I have watched your video twice now, I really appreciate your insights. They are extremely helpful. The "DIY" information is a very nice touch.. Thank you
Tusen takk, thank you! I really appreciate your nice feedback :)
Awesome video man. I'm thinking about doing this in March. Originally was just gonna go to Oslo but this looks too good to miss!!
Thank you! Yes def worth doing this trip if you got the time for it
Thank you Pal! ⭐️ Great to see you back. We have just finished booking a similar trip but in reverse over 4 days. Just have to wait for July and 3 very excited Aussies.
That's wonderful! Thanks for watching the episode, and enjoy Norway
Welcome back dear, I always miss your videos!
Tusen takk! Thank you 😊
Man, I really enjoy your videos! Every time they‘re made to perfection - and with so much love. Feels like a small vacation and makes me want to go back to Norway asap. Bra jobba, Pål. :-)
Hei Henry, that's really nice to hear, tusen takk! I love taking people along on my journeys in Norway. I hope you'll make it back here again soon.
Excellent, this was so educational and not as confusing as the result google search provided. We're planning a trip to Norway in June this year so thanks for the video, now we know exactly what to do.
Really glad to hear that! I tried to convey how to do this journey in an easy manner as possible. Enjoy Norway :D
Another fantastic video, Pål. I am frequently asked about Norway in a Nutshell at the office but have yet to do it myself...this is a great resource!
Thanks Ben! I get a lot of questions about NIN myself, so I thought this video should be helpful :)
Happy to see you back. Still looking forward to experience the fjord cruise with the family.
Thank you! I’m sure some day we will :)
I just got back from Bergen about a month ago and did the Sognefjord in a nutshell and just loved it. The beauty is stunning. The Winter views look great in your video so I'll have to make my way back to Norway someday.
Glad you enjoyed it! Winter is also a special time of the year
I did this trip in July but I stayed in Flam overnight...it was just an amazing experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat!
Cool! Good idea to do an overnight and spend more time in the fjord country 👍👍👍
How was the weather in July?
@@prajwal90 very nice, warm and sunny!
Hi did you do any excursions in your second day (check out day)?? I was thinking to do overnight in Flam and do a excursion the next day before going to Bergen. Appreciate any recommendations😀!
@@jambok7917 yes, we did a zipline/bike tour which is taking the Myrdal train to a stop (which I do not remember the name now :) ) and then the zipline and once you are done you get a bike and bike back to Flam...it is not a very long trail but very pretty and well worth it especially if there is a nice weather
What a beautiful video, i really love it. Thank you
Thank you! Nice to hear :)
I did the exact journey back in 2022. I can't recommend it enough, beautiful scenery all the way and the fjord ferry was EPIC. I found your video light and super helpful. Thanks a lot!
"I found your video light and super helpful." That's a GREAT compliment, thank you, tusen takk!
Thank you Pål! What a gorgeous video! My boyfriend and I got inspired by watching your road trip from Oslo to Bergen and we did the same trip this summer. What a beautiful route! We fell in love with Norway😊 Keep posting more videos like this! 🤩
Thank you, glad you liked it! I'm so happy to hear that I could inspire you to do that road trip :D
This was the best video I've seen on this journey
Thank you! Tusen takk :)
Loved it. ❤😊
Thanks! ❤️
Thank you, Pal. A lot of good, sensible information, simply put, like how you say one can choose to see Norwegian scenery in either green or white depending on the season. That made up my mind for me!
Thanks for your nice comment!
Wonderful trip, thank you so much! Greetings from Paris!
Hi Michel, thanks for watching! ❤️
@ My pleasure! Big fan of your channel!
I appreciate that :) @@teddyofparis
I have to say, I’m really enjoying seeing you back at it Pål. And your production once again set the bar quite high. Damn this was so much great information in such a great package. Well done mate. 👏🏻 Some of the b-roll in this video was truly epic. I really need to get out and travel even more with alternative methods 🇳🇴☕
Tusen takk Thomas! Maybe you did it already but I guess you could bring the bike on the Kaupanger to Gudvangen ferry 🇳🇴🤩
Tusen Takk Pål!!
Bare hyggelig :)
Thank you! You living in a beautiful country!
Thank you 🙏
I sure wish we could do this trip. Unfortunately we are seniors with health issues. Sure glad we saw Norway and met Pål a few years ago. Great video!!!
Hi Louise! I'm glad I met you as well. Thanks for watching the video :)
Great video! I loved the humor in this one, too!
Having been to these places in the late summer, I can now see how different they look in the winter. Norway is beautiful in any season! ❤
Thank you! Yes every season has its charm :) are you still coming to Oslo this December?
@ I don’t think we’ll make it there this year. In the end, we decided that even though we’d love to see Norway in the winter, we also really live the long days (and warmth) of late summer and fall. Who knows, though… maybe some time. ❤️
Ok! Well I hope to see you over here again some day :) @@SacramentoLisa
@ Hoping to come next year sometime! 🙂
Thanks for the description. I've travelled on the railways numerous times but not done the ferry yet. In winter the days are short. When I was in Norway in summer 2023 I enjoyed the long days!
You are welcome! I hope you get to experience the ferry some day :D
@ 2023 I left out the west (Bergen) to go directly north, via Bodø, Lofoten, Tromsø, Alta, Nordkapp, Hammerfest, Narvik ... and back south via Stockholm. That took me several weeks and I only stayed one or two nights at each place. I'm sure coming again sometime later!
Excelente!!! Para una nueva visita a Noruega 🇳🇴
Muchas gracias! :D
Welcome back Pål! I miss you and your videos!
Tusen takk, thank you! That is nice to hear :) I have another one from Bergen ready which I will post soon
Tusen Takk! I have good friends in both Oslo and Bergen. I look forward to it. I hope that you and your family and kids are doing alright! @
@@Aidan_Au Great! All are doing well thanks :)
Hei, Hei! Wow, 10,000 souvenir shops in Flam?! 🤣🤣🤣 As usual, your humor is spot on. Tusen takk for the massive effort of making the Norway in a Nutshell video. I can't imagine traveling through your beautiful countryside any other way. You continue to inspire all of us who dream of visiting one day! 😍😍😍
10.000 at least! ;) Thanks for watching and for your nice comment :D
We are doing this exact trip in December. This helps a lot since it seems overwhelming on paper. It’s good to know connecting from train to ferry to bus etc.. won’t be so stressful as the stops are close to each other.
Great! People have many concerns about this trip, and I really wanted to take the stress out of it by making this episode. Don’t stress, just sit back and relax :)
Loved this video. This “daytour” was included in trip this summer. We took the bus on the leg instead of the train. Brings back happy memories to watch this.
Tusen takk Linda! It’s a must do I think , and glad you got to experience it :)
Hi , we’re flying to Oslo in March and this trip looks amazing. Would love to cruise the fjords . We’re 4 nights in Norway so we could really do this . Thank you , very useful and informative video 👍
Hi there! Yes with 4 nights you got time for sure :) Thank you
I am using all your videos to plan my trip to Norway! Just wanted to say Thank you! Also, when was this video recorded? Because my elderly mother really wants to see snow (she’s from Latin America and has never seen snow) on our trip and this video seems to have taken place at the perfect time for her.
Hi there! Thanks for watching my videos. This video was recorded in late February. I hope you'll have a nice journey to Norway
@ awesome! Thank you do much for replying! :)
I just discovered your chanel and man.. I want to visit norway so much now :')
Great :) 😊
Nice trip 😊
I'm doing this trip in a couple of weeks but staying in Flåm for 2 nights. I was really looking forward to it before but now really cant wait.
Glad to hear that! Enjoy :)
I going the other way. Bergen to Oslo early May. Nice video..
Great! Enjoy the ride
We r planning a trip from India. Ur video has been helpful Tq.
Glad to hear that :) welcome to Norway!
Whenever I suggest videos on traveling in Norway, I always suggest Pål's channel.
That's super nice of you Einar! Tusen takk :D
What a beautiful journey! Something which would be better is to take the ferry from Flåm to Bergen so you can see the Sognefjord as well!
I think what is better depends on your own wishes and preferences. If seeing the UNESCO Nærøyfjord then it’s Persson better to do that journey. But if not seeing the Nærøyfjord is important to you, then perhaps the better option is Flåm to Bergen ferry
We will be doing NIAN in Jan 2024 with an overnight in Flam. So excited.
Great! Good idea to do an overnight to enjoy the fjord landscape even more 👍
During winter, the boattrip on Nærøyfjord can sometimes not be possible due to ice. But there are alternatives like a shorter boat trip and roadtransport so the NIN journey can be completed. Just something to take into account when traveling during wintertime.
Yes thanks for that info! But as far as I know it does not happen very often? Especially not with the mild winters we're having these days
@ Not often, but at least the last two winter seasons. This year it was a period in late winter, were the ice was too thick. The carbon hull of the vessels doesn't like it :)
I believe the solution was a boat trip to the point the ice starts and then back to Undredal for bus transport. The ice critical point is in Nærøyfjord in the Bakka area as it is quite narrow there.
I see! Thanks for that info :) I was there in late February and there was a thing layer of ice on the fjord, so I guess I was lucky@@vnasjt
@ It has become reality these days as there is now ice on the fjord and they have set up bus from Undredal to Gudvangen to continue the NIN loop.
Hei hei! Thanks a lot for checking out this episode. I hope it can help and inspire :) I'd love to hear from you, so please leave a comment!
Here is an article I wrote on how do book this itinerary yourself (and might save a few USD): norwaywithpal.com/norway-travel-blog/norway-in-a-nutshell-save-money-tour/
I really enjoyed this and your other videos! My parents and I are considering the route from Bergen to Oslo in August. I am curious on your thoughts on the ferry from Bergen to Flam. I understand it's not a cruise, but are the sights as or more interesting? Or is the train, bus, cruise better?
The train bus cruise is more scenic, since you'll go through the Nærøyfjord. But the Bergen to Flåm can also be nice, and easier to just stay on one ferry not having to do any transfers @@user-lq1gh8ke9r
Thank you@
Stellar video! I love the twisted bridge. I am going there this summer by myself. Do you know how accommodating are they for seniors with disabilities.
Hei hei! Thanks for watching the video. In Norway, in general at tourist sights there is good accessibility for those with disabilities.
@ Thanks!
wow... very informative and perfect video ...... point A,B,C.... How to cover the places
Thank you!
Ohh que sorpresa
me enamoro tu musica. no paro de oirla
Hey Pål. Love you channel and your videos are so helpful and informative. It's really evident all the hard work and planning you put in your work. Keep up the great work! Quick question. We're planning on doing this trip next week. Just thinking about the Leg 2: The fjord cruise from Flåm to Gudvangen where the last cruise leaves at 15:00. Considering the short days in winter and that it would get dark quite early, do you think we would still be able to see and experience the sights if we make this 15:00 cruise for 2 hours? Or would it get dark and we might not see everything and enjoy it as much? Would it be better to stay in Flam for a night and then do the cruise the following day? Many thanks and keep up the great work!
Hi there! Thanks for watching, and glad you enjoy my videos :)
Sorry for my late reply here… you will see some but it will be dark ish… ideally this time of the year I’d split it into two days and spend a night in Flåm or Aurland and take an earlier ferry the next day.
@ Thanks a lot!
Thanks for a very informative video and stunning scenery. Most of all, it's so nice to hear the Norwegian names pronounced correctly. Just wondering why Bergen was discriminated to "Bøørgen"? 😊
Hi glad you liked the episode! I think I mix place names up all the time if you watch my other episodes as well. I speak so much english on a daily basis that my brain just works that way now
Thank you so much for this video, planning our trip now!
Question please - is there reserved seating on Flamsbana? I can’t seem to book it ahead on Vy but was wondering if there is another place I can reserve seating. Thanks in advance!
You are welcome! There are no reserved seats on the Flåm Railway. I recommend sitting on the left hand side :)
Really informative, thanks. Could you please suggest some good midnight sun cruise / boat rides in Tromso in July as I am planning to visit in 24, thanks
Thanks for watching! You can find many different cruises at GetYourGuide: gyg.me/9A8eWktA
Hi again! Your content has helped me so much 🙏🏾 and I have a couple of questions that perhaps you can help me with:
Is the noon (12pm) train from Oslo to Myrdal/Flam (arriving at Flam at ~6pm) as scenic and beautiful as the 8am one, in the month of July? The 8am one is already sold out the day that I'm traveling to Flam, and I'm between the ~6am and the ~12pm one...I don't want to wake up too early to catch the 6am one. Also, I have no rush because I'm doing the second leg (Flam to Bergen) 2 days later.
One more thing - the seats right next to the WC (Toilets), are they terrible? Will they block the view on the way to Myrdal? The only seats available on the 8am train are next to WC, thus asking.
Thanks in advance!
Hi there!
There is so much daylights in July that it does not make much difference if you leave at 6 or 12.
Seats next to the toilets are fine. As long as there is a window you'll have a nice view. You can also walk around and sit in the café. Enjoy!
Nice video!
I did the same trip!
Thanks! Great you got to do this nice journey
this video is awesome!!!
May i ask which month is it? is it good time to visit in the beginning of February ?
Hi Pal,
Your videos are beautiful.
How to book Fjords cruise from flam? Should we book it in advance (in online)or after reaching there ?
I am planning to visit in May month :)
Thank you :)
I would book it now, since it can sell out. There are two companies:
www.norwaysbest.com/no/ting-a-gjore/fjorder/fjord-cruise-naeroyfjord/
And
en.lustrabaatane.no/
We are planning this trip for October. This really helps. And it looks absolutely beautiful. We will certainly not do it in a day, more likely a week. I think I can plan it myself instead of using a tour company. Do you agree?
Nice! Yes I'm sure you can plan it yourself. Feel free to check out these two resources:

Hey there 👋🏽, thank you for this wonderful video.
So we are planning to do a 10 day trip in may landing in oslo.
Would oslo/bergen/alesund/geiranger/trondheim/bodo/lofoten/tromso/svalbard be possible to cover ?? Or are we just fooling ourselves...and should cut down on places.
As we would be first timers in norway what are the must do's :)
Also, would you recommend renting a car.. or travel via trains, ferries. 🙏
Hi there! Yes that sounds like way too much to cover in 10 days, unless you want to constantly be inside your car ;)
As it seems you want to see many things I would recommend renting a car if it is within your budget. That said, Norway is very accessible with public transportation, but you won't be able to cover the same amount of places compared to having a rental.
@ Thank you so much :)
Also, would be greatful if you could advice as to what parts should we cover if we do a road trip by renting a car from oslo ! typically for 10nights.
Should we head to the west or head up north.. paleeeze help🙌🏻😊😇
Thank you pal for so informative video I am planning to be exactly same trip on May. As I am traveling with little kids planning to complete it in three days how do you recommend to split the trip examples best place to say overnight in between the trip . Could please help 😊
Hi there, glad you enjoy the video. Flåm has a lot of activities and things to do, so you might want to stay there. You could also set apart some time for visiting the Viking Village in Gudvangen. Enjoy!
Aloha Pål! Would you recommend a reverse trip from Bergen to Oslo using the same itinerary? Planing a summer trip to Norway) Thank you!
Aloha! Yes for sure 👍 the views are just as beautiful 🤩
@ Thank you!!!🙏
Hi, my friends and I will do this Norway in a nutshell routes by ourselves in this upcoming May. Quite excited to do that. And then we will take a train from Bergen back to Oslo on the next day. I have a question about seats in Pluss class. Can the table be foldable or moveable? Does person on the aisle need to stand up for person on the window side to step out?
Hi there! Yep the table can be pushed up, so there is enough space to bypass the person on the aisle even though sitting down. Not a lot of space, but sufficient I’d say
@ thank you so much as I have been trying to find the answer for this about a week. Even AI chat couldn’t give me the answer 😀.
You are welcome! I find AI to be quite unreliable on many travel questions that I ask it... @@cottonlog
Thank you for this detailed video. I have a question, we plan to go from Oslo to Bergen and then proceed to Copenhagen from there, which means we will have all our luggage with us (probably 25kgs of travel bags). Are these bags allowed on the small Flam Railway?
Hi there! Thanks for watching. Yes your luggage is allowed on the Flåm train
@ thank you for your response
Thank you Paul. would you recommend to stay in Flam. We are planning to come in summer with kids.
You are welcome! Thanks for watching 🙏 Yes Flåm is a nice place to stay with kids as there are plenty of activities. If you want a more charming fjord village then stay in Aurlandsvangen
Thank you, would you say it’s better to do Bergen to Olso early August to avoid the crowds?
Thank you so much for this informative video. I am planning to do NiN but in reverse way; Bergen to Oslo. But I heard the fjords cruise is not available from Gudvangen to Flam due to ice. Is it true?
No that is true. You can cruise from Gudvangen to Flåm. Enjoy!
Hi Pal, just wonder the trip you took from Oslo to Bergen, does it go the way in reverse? I mean from Bergen to Oslo.😊
Hi Bryan, yes it does!
So I’m planning on going to Oslo and Bergen in a month. Do they have express trains between the two cities other than the one you took? Also the fjord tours from Bergen do they go to the same Fjords you showed or a different one?
Hi there, no the Bergen Line is the only train between Oslo and Bergen. There is a mountain in between, so tricky to build express trains.
Not sure which fjord tour you've seen. Some go to Mostraumen, some to the Hardangerfjord, and some to the Sognefjord (where I went)
I was wondering if I should do the Flam - Myrdal - Flam day trip. I now think it is worth it.
If I have about a week to explore Oslo, Bergen and Flam, how would you divide it?
Yep I think so 👍
Hi, thanks for your video, very useful alternative modes to get to Bergen.
May I know if the cruise and bus have storage space to hold our luggages? I'll be flying into Oslo from an International airport to get to Bergen, and like to take your recommended train, cruise, and bus to Bergen. So, I will have a mid-size luggage with me. Any advice? thanks
Hi there, the journey is designed for travelers with luggage, so you will find storage space for it. Enjoy!
@ great. thanks
You are welcome!@@cruisebreeze
man I would love to experience this, but I will be in Norway only in December. do you think its worth it?
I also have planned to go in December but as I watched a video today - 13:27 … I don’t know
Yes, but I would spread it out over two days. So go to Flåm on day 1, stay one night in Flåm, and then do the fjord cruise in the morning (or noon) on day 2 :)
You could do it, but I would spread it out over two days. So go to Flåm on day 1, stay one night in Flåm, and then do the fjord cruise in the morning (or noon) on day 2 :)
Amazing video! I wanted to ask how much it costed, all the tickets for adult?🤗
Thanks! I believe I payed about 2000 NOK total
Is it possible to do this trip with an interrail pass for one country in your opinion? Super nice video
You can do the Oslo - Bergen journey with an interrail pass, but as far as I know not the Flåm Rail.
What train site did you use to book the train? We are going the opposite way Flam - Myrdal - Oslo but don't want to book through a sketchy site lol
I used www.vy.no/en
Good luck 👍
Do the trains from Oslo to Bergen, and vice versa including The ferry runs all 7 days a week? any days they are closed?
Yep 7 days a week
Question, how soon can you book your fjord cruise and VY and flambana train if I know my itinerary this early July?
Usually tickets are available 3 months before
Thank you so much. My husband and I rea looking to visit Norway this coming June/July. Do you also do tour on the side? It would be great to meet you when we are in town. We would love to buy you dinner for showing us around!@
I plan to do it on my own independently. Do I need to buy train, bus , ferry tickets ahead of time or we can buy as I get there, we plan to travel in middle of October 2024, thank you
Hi there, the train tickets oslo flåm and the fjord cruise can sell out, although that happens mostly in the summer season. But if you want to be 100% sure to get tickets you should book ahead
Hello , I am glad to find your video, Could I ask you if I follow your foot step from Oslo to Bergen by this train ride, how can I come back fro Bergen to Oslo ? By direct train?
Thanks for watching! Yep direct train or flight back to Oslo
@ Thank you. How about payment is Norway, do we need to exchange cash, or Apple pay or credit card are good enough. Meanwhile, I have booked this nutshell trip to Bergen, do they stop any where for lunch, ( suas as do we have time for lunch in a nice place) or we should pack some food from Oslo. Thanks.
You can use card and apple pay everywhere. You can pack food, but there is food available on the train and the fjord cruise ferry. You'll have some time in Flåm as well to eat something quick. Enjoy!@@tinghsuanlee
So can you do this at your own leisure or do you have to stick to a schedule you're given??
If you buy all the legs individually you can do it at your own leisure. But I recommend booking well in advance, especially in the summer season as it can fill up
If I book a tour that arrive Myrdal 11:15 and then depart Myrdal 12:06, is there anythings to do or is it to long wait?
There is is nothing to do but use the restrooms and breathe fresh mountain air. The wait is OK 👌
Dumb question: if I want to travel back from Bergen to Oslo, you would recommend the exact same route? Or is it possible by plane?
Yes if you have the time and wants to see the fjords + mountains then do this journey in reverse. There are also flights if you only want to see the airports ;)
💕💕💕
I'm planning on buying separate tickets myself but can't find where to buy single ticket for the Flåm-Gudvangen ferry. Do you know where to buy tickets in advance?
Hi there you can buy tickets here: www.norwaysbest.com/things-to-do/fjords/fjord-cruise-naeroyfjord/?_gl=1*1ab9a8z*_up*MQ..&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2uiwBhCXARIsACMvIU1Vb51JxtTnL83rswqOlcNL7XR8d_0q1QN-aNEfN0JWDx6cigCMVd4aAvHmEALw_wcB

Hi Pal, which side is better to sit on? For oslo-bergen
Hi Joe, both are good, but left hand side might be a bit better when you get up into the mountains
@ Ty very much
Just wondering can this trip be done in the opposite direction from Bergen to Oslo?
Yes it can!
if you go in the summer is it a lot of people on the train?
Yes the train(s) can sell out in the summer. On the Bergen Line it rarely feels crowded though, but the Flåm line can feel a bit jam packed on certain days
thx
@
From Oslo to Bergen what is the best side of the train to seat on? Thanks
Left side might be slightly better I think 👍
Appreciate if you could make a video of Sognefjord in a Nutshell
Yea that would be great, good idea! But I struggle finding time for it. Producing this episode took me about a week in total with planning, filming and editing... and if I'm lucky TH-cam will pay me 20-30 USD for it before the year is over. 🤷♂
If i do Norway in a nutshell in one day on October, is it possible?
Yep 👍
Whoa how much did this all cost?
Edit: I checked the link, damn that is a lot but for views like this? Way more than worth it
I think it’s well worth it as well :) If you purchase the tickets well in advance you can save some money
@ Sounds great! I'm currently going to be saving money for the trip to Norway.
may i know which month/time of the year was this video taken please? are the fjords frozen?
Hi! This was late February. This time the fjord had a thin layer of ice. It's rare that they freeze so much that the ferry can't go.
@ Pål, I was thinking of doing this trip early February, so in only a couple of weeks. Do you think the sun will be setting too early to enjoy the boat trip? Thanks!
Hi there! It will be right on the edge of darkness, but with a good camera you should still get good photos, and with your eyes it should be an enjoyable cruise@@PapaHaynes
Thanks Pål, after some further thought I've decided to go end of February / March. That extra hour of daylight I think will be quite nice, and I save a little bit of money on flights too. Thanks!@
I think that is a good decision. This episode was filmed late February. Enjoy the tour!@@PapaHaynes
Do you know if the 950 bus would have a toilet on it?
Hi, it does not have a toilet on it. But you find a toilet in Gudvangen and Voss.
@ thanks! I actually am on the trip today and managed to sprint up the road when we docked at 16.55 to the E16 bus stop for the 1700 VY450 bus. The coach is basically empty, has a toilet, and gets me to Voss early enough so I can jump on the 18.11 train to Bergen instead of the 19.13. That’s the plan anyway, hopefully my bus arrives on time!
That's great! I wish VY would make the correspondence a bit easier, but glad you made it! @@PapaHaynes
When did you record this video?
Late February 2023

Can we do this trip in 3rd of March 2024?

Tren yolculuğunu severim..Harika bir doğa ..kuzey ışıklarını anlatan bir videonuz var mı?
Jeg har dessverre ingen Nordlys-video, men forhåpentligvis kan jeg reise nordover i vinter og lage en :)
@ Thanks..
