The chemistry between the Driver and Irene is remarkable, these few scenes have taken me somewhere down to the most peaceful dream. And I imagined the driver was me. Thank you "Drive" for helping me to sense some hope & peace. Correction: The driver was me.
I mean, this is the first time the driver actually got to loosen up and have fun with actual good people that he liked. So, yes. This is what genuine happiness feels like for him.
I recently started seeing a girl over the last couple of months and she ended up telling me recently that she has 2 sons that love race cars. I have 3 muscle cars that I like to drive and honestly this scene gives me the vibes I have been feeling lately. For once he really is literally me.
@@Kronos0999 I mean if she was interested in me before I knew about the kids why would it matter. I’m comfortable with money and don’t really mind cause I actually care about the girl.
@@exia01gt21 You don't get, bruh. Just because she didn't tell you about the kids doesn't mean she didn't know about them herself. And you're good on money, but now half your network, then subtract 10% of your current net worth every month. Are you still good for money? I dated a single mother and they are ready to get hardcore with you in 2 seconds but trust me that momussy isn't worth your purpose. Don't trust me, try scolding her child like their father would 5 times over a period of a week . You'll have your answer
Frankly I don't think that she's that beautiful I think just in this movie she's kind of the vision of the hope of love. So she's not exactly a knockout, but if you wanted someone to be your lover, she's stereotypically feminine.
So I have just watched the film for the first time and wanting to look this scene up - I think it is by far the most memorable and best in the whole movie
The director mastered the art of holding each other's gaze and enjoying what would be otherwise be an uncomfortable silence. Really helped build the film's quiet intensity that's unleashed in the violent sequences. Or something like that.
I felt the same, i had the once in the lifetime oportunity to experience the same. I was with my new sweetheart out to town, she said "let's drive a bit, to see the lights at night" and we had a lot of fun...i am hurting now.
Carrie Mulligan has a quiet, soft, beauty about her that transcends superficial standards of attraction. Don’t get me wrong, she certainly is beautiful, the feeling she projects is mesmerizing.
In the beginning it looks to be near MacArthur park somewhere in 6th street. Training day filmed a couple of scenes near there, notably the alley way scene. As for the ride where the music plays, that’s the LA River but idk where in the river though.
Now days, you'd get pulled over and have to deal with the cops for 45 minutes, then get three tickets, and kicked out of the ditch. Good ol' America, land of the free.
It’s only awkward in the sense that they both know they found true love, but they’re embarrassed that they have to do the small talk you do when you first meet somebody despite them non verbally communicating something much deeper than words. The awkwardness is compounded by the fact that they are both apprehensive about openly expressing their feelings for each other. Irene is conflicted by her loyalty to the man who fathered her child. The Driver is at odds with his want to care for and fix things (cars, a broken family) and his true nature as a criminal.
Oh boy, this looks like a wholesome, lighthearted movie that the whole family can enjoy! I can't wait to watch it!
😂😂
In a way it sorta is, it's balanced enough with the violence and action and doesn't have to be mindnumbingly retarded with the "wholesomeness"
