The current owner is a collector and we’ve had the pleasure of working with them on the sale of many cars. As you can see from the listing, he purchased this from BaT back in 2021. He is a driver and always likes to have his cars in great shape.
When he received this car at the end of 2021, he brought it to the Alfaman in Novato, CA. Knowledgeable Alfisti will tell you that Jim is one of the preeminent Alfa specialists in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Jim did a post-purchase inspection on the car and did a significant amount of work to bring it up to our client’s expectations. The $7375 invoice includes:
* Installed a new black canvas top
* Rebuilt the trailing arms
* Installed a new fuel sender
* Installed a sump guard
* Seam sealed the previously replaced floor pans
* A new windshield
* Adjusting valves, checking compression (tested very well)
* Various small work on the interior
In preparation for the sale, he went over the car again last month and did a full fluid change on everything, replaced the spark plugs and rebuilt the bushings on the rear sway bar.
This is a driver’s Alfa! With the rebuilt hot 2.0 engine, the oversize Magnaflow exhaust and Centerline performance springs and Bilstein shocks, this car really shifts it along. Note: the PO also changed out the SPICA to dual Webers.
The great thing about the S2 Alfa’s, is that they are fast enough (especially this one) to keep up with modern traffic, great driving experience while still maintaining simplicity in upkeep and that vintage feel.
