I so do not understand any of this. I mean, I get very little. I understand the notes and how to read them, the eighth, half, whole, A B C G.... and how to read most of the notes but when it comes down to actually utilizing what I have learned... NOPE! I do not know what it is I am not comprehending but there is something very vital (and likely fundamental) that I am just missing! Maybe I am psyching myself out by being nervous and apprehensive...????... I truly do not know. But, I want so much to be able to truly understand it fully because it's all just so beautiful and simply complicated. Delicate, yet strong! It's MUSIC! It's wonderful!! And, I want to understand!!
Don't overthink things. Let yourself go and just go along. Start with basic patterns - search for 'Ta Ti-Ti Shh' or 'To Ta Ta' or 'Ti-Ti Shh Ta' etc to ease into rhythm and rhythm patterns. Above all, enjoy music!
Thanks Rich , that was a Great lesson. As far as i have seen many music techears are boring and sleepy , but you seem to be diferent .Greatings from Brazil.
Ty so much Mr.Gordon for watching the video of hutching elementary video that we made lm in hutching elementary tysm! I was crying! When u watched or video I'm in 3rd in hutching elementary! We have r easy button
This is very helpful for kids. I am using this in my classroom lessons. Kid's are enjoying it. Thank you for doing it. Greetings Ferguson Intermediate school music department - New Zealand.
the measures in this video are 4 beats, yes. It depends on the time signature at the beginning of the music. Here is a video that explains time signatures and how some measures have a different number of beats: th-cam.com/video/1ilBWT9a-Oo/w-d-xo.html
@Nr. Gordon, I have struggled unsuccessfully to reconcile the count from the eighth rest note. Why is the quarter note immediately after the rest note not a 1?
I stumbled upon your video while looking for rhythm clapping exercises for an audition I have coming up. I'm in show choir, not band but this was super helpful. You're very cool, and if I was in band, I'd want to be in your band!
I badly needed this video for my video presentation about clapping the rhythm of the whole note, Half note, Quarter note, and Sixteenth note. Like dude I' haven't been in music class before so I don't have any idea what are those notes. Thanks for this.
Thank you. I need the clapping practice. Your right frontal lobe in your brain has a lot to do with rhythm and mine was badly damaged from a brain virus.. I am still trying to learn piano and play with better rhythm. Is there anyway to make that exercise repeatable?
Sir can you please do a fish version dedicated to my betta fish willow thank you so much if you accept this offer i love your channel you taught me is much just a idea tysm!
