This is what happens when you meet someone who not only knows what he is talking about, but can also convey to others is a very simple and intuitive way something that, taught incorrectly, can become a nightmare! I started learning keyboard this week and this video dropped my jaw to the ground! Awesome.

The background music is good because it actually teaches you how to maintain focus while an alternative rhythm is going on around you. You’ll almost never get a piece where everyone is playing the exact same rhythm for the whole piece. Even if you’re playing a solo, accompaniment will play a different rhythm. I know it’s hard but you’ll get it with practice! -I’m a musician who’s been playing for 20 years btw

I’m trying to learn rhythm using Rhythm Trainer iOS app. There are four type of exercises for each lesson. 3rd exercise is detection and which rhythm will be played and you have to carefully listen and remember it then tap that remembered rhythm when asked. I was struggling in this exercise very much because I didn’t know how to remember exactly. It became very much difficult because I had to count 1,2,3,4 also and I had to remember also what happened every second so mind was getting confused what and how to remember. This nomenclature of silent beats and half and full notes really helped me to get started. Thank you very much. It’s very helpful trick for the mind to remember rhythm while counting. ❤ Keep up the good work.

As a beginner piano player this is very helpful. Now to understand the timing of faster notes like eighths and sixteenths.
