I am a sixty seven year old classical flutist and this is my signiture, most requested piece, a piece that I played with Galway and 3000 other flutists at a flute convention in NYC, a piece that comforted mourners at funerals, honored brides and grooms at weddings, blessed many art openings and business openings, but blessed me most, but never as beautifully played as this wonderful rendition by Hauser. He is one blessed soul, one phenomenal musician.

I wonder what Bach was going through that time in his life to make this masterpiece. This just connotes sadness and despair to me yet it gives a sense of freedom. Beautifully rendered by Hauser!
I believe he created this song for a prince at the time. Truly a masterpiece.

I tried listening to many renditions with piano,violin etc but cello really brings that hauntingly beautiful sound that made you feel you are falling deep deep deeper into an endless pit not knowing when you'll land at it's bottom.this is the go to music if you feel the need to cry after a shitty day.

Am I the only one thinking the amount of beauty in this video is outrageous? Those sublime musicians seem as talented as they are handsome!
Bach was truly a musical genius of the 1st order. There's so much in this piece. I've always focused on the pleading, the yearning, the reaching out from one's very soul into the undefinable. It always drives me to tears from its purity, it's sublime tenderness, it's genuine humanity, it's profound beauty and it's deep meaning. I love how that first note simply hangs there, as if it's always existed and will always exist. This is simply a transcendent piece that cannot be thought of...only felt. It really is auditory emotion. This piece's ability to connect with humanity is incalculable.

Music should be included in the 7 miracles of the world, maybe even in the first place. The 7 notes, that a sharp mind and the 10 talented fingers helped by a musical instrument (cello for example) can combine so harmoniously, would deserve this classification. Some musical chords make you feel good, others make you dream... Classical music, as I discovered it with you, I can say that it heals ... I feel much better now! Thank you!
What seven miracles of the world
This piece uses 11 of the 12 notes (ignoring octaves). Don't know what Bach had against F-natural, could have squeezed in one somewhere. Other than that glaring omission, this is a wonderful piece of music :-)

This kingdom exists and Bach is responsible for taking us to this place where there is no pain and we can, at last, find tenderness to this life.

excellent video. There’s a relatively unknown classical guitarist named Fabio Lima and he play Air on the G String you won’t regret hearing him.

Is it just me or his cello is breathing? I'm no string player but there's inhale whenever he transition to new phrase, like when i play this piece with clarinet. He made the cello "breath" air.

Takes me back to my grammar school days. Our music teacher used to bring in records for us to listen to in class and this was one of her favourite pieces. I've always loved it.
I love how they looked at each other while playing. It's like they are have a conversation and I can feel the emotion and the vibe between the team.

When you put 90% of the sound into just a single instrument in a Bach piece, it loses all its baroque, polyphonic qualities, so this is pretty meh in my opinion.
The real marvel is how incredible his phrasing and expression is ...and how somehow , with all that swag, and without being distracted by all those gazes , the exceedingly beautiful music flows , and with poise and sensitivity.
