After decades of not having any taste for classical music one day as part of some feet on TH-cam I heard Schubert for the first time. I didn't know what the music was I just knew that there was an innocence to it that made me feel a lot of feelings. So, I've just begun my journey! I thought I'd like others, but alas, I found them loud, abrasive. And not warm at all. I hope when I listen to others by him, they will resonate with my soul like" Serenade"

While I am heartbroken, I am also very glad she got to leave us with such angelic and peaceful sounds, surrounded by her family after 97 years of war, traveling, being an incredible mother and grandmother. This is originally a love song, expressing someone who longes to be loved by the lady he adores, the song (Lied) is very moving indeed the lyrics make you cry, anyway that what it does to me. It was published a few month after Schudert, the composer, passed away, 31 years old after having lived a life of poverty, neglection, unappreciated, leaving us with his immortal music.

There is a book called “Serenade” written by famous Turkish writer Zülfü Livaneli. It was so touching story tells a kinda love story between Jewish women and German professor in WWII. I cried every page that I read. Before I read the book, I was listening this music without intense emotions but now everything is more meaningful thanks to book. SERENADE FÜR NADIA THANK YOU ZULFU LIVANELI FOR BEING A REASON OF MEETING THIS BEAUTIFUL SONG.
How wonderful Ben, to have connected your book and music, there is no greater joy. Try “ Cry to Heaven “ and listen to the soundtrack of Farinelli. The book is salty in parts but does take you to a part of history that is rarely talked about. Happy Christmas. X
Thanks Jenny for your advice. I will definitely read and listen. The history has always been one of my greatest interests. Happy Christmas to you too. 🎁 🎄
Livaneli' yi okuyorum heyecanla.

Working in long-term healthcare, I have had two residents who preferred classical music. I briefly understood the importance of it. Now both of these amazing women have since passed away.

You can hear the grass growing, the wind through the leaves, the spring coming down the hill. A nature serenade! Thank you for a piece of eternity that you shared with us.
Yeah kinda reminds me of the Pikmin games. It's a survival/strategy about post-apocalyptic Earth where you are a tiny alien and you have collect ship parts in the first game, collect treasure in the second, and collect fruit in the third. One of the biggest things in it is the scenery, which the third has mastered (because it's the latest one). I always get this feeling of bliss and happiness when playing them, and it reminds me of Spring when nature is flourishing: the leaves are swaying, the grass is green, the rivers are tinkling, and the climate is perfect. It made me appreciate nature a little more

When I was a child, my parents bought me a music box with a melody that sounded so melancholic and yet so beautiful... I'd always wondered if the melody had been created just for the box or if it was something that existed and so my mom and I did some research tonight and we found out it was this melody... it's gorgeous, really. It makes me want to cry, not necessarily sad tears, but not happy tears either. This music is really special (in a good way)

Well, this is actually a song. It means something like "Quietly my songs beg to you through the night". Maybe you can find a proper translation for this song with the line I gave you.
@@zeldaandTwink Then we Germans define it differently. In German, a "Lied", which means song, is a composition that usually has singing in it. A work of classical music would be literally a piece in English. I think you can say that in English too. Anyway, what I wanted to say is that no one has to wonder what this composition is about because you can read the lyrics!😊 My parents are classical singers (my mum as a profession, my dad as a hobby) and when I still lived with them I heard them often randomly starting to sing songs like this one, which is why I partly know the text.
I have listened to this and loved this piece of music when I was four years old and I tried to dressed up like Schubert with a towel as a cape and a pair of antique spectacles. Now I am 87 and think about time of eighty three years ago.

Anyway, what I wanted to say is that no one has to wonder what this composition is about because you can read the lyrics!😊
My parents are classical singers (my mum as a profession, my dad as a hobby) and when I still lived with them I heard them often randomly starting to sing songs like this one, which is why I partly know the text.
I have listened to this and loved this piece of music when I was four years old and I tried to dressed up like Schubert with a towel as a cape and a pair of antique spectacles. Now I am 87 and think about time of eighty three years ago.
