Love Hypocrisy ! I like em all, but my favs are Fourth Dimension, Abducted and Final Chapter.

Yeah man!! Got an original 'The Fourth Dimension' poster off Ebay a few months ago...should be framing it sometime soon!! Such an underrated album...lots of good dark and catchy songs on that one!!

That Gateway to Hell Slayer cover CD has some good covers. I like Sadistic Intent’s version of Necrophiliac, Evil Incarnate’s version of Die by the Sword, and Coffin Texts version of Crypts of Eternity.

Hypocrisy’s album from 1994 “Fourth Dimension” is a really good album in my opinion!

One of my all-time favorites!! Such a distinctive dark guitar tone, creepy cover art, and Peter Tagtgren's brutal vocals!! A very underrated doomy, dark, and catchy death metal album!! Even the red-toned band photo (on the back cover of the original release) perfectly captures the atmosphere of the album. I actually just scored an original 24"x36" poster on ebay last Fall for $20...going put it up on the wall one of these days -ha. Also, the non-album track 'The Abyss' on the Death Is Just The Beginning 3 compilation is one of their best songs!!
Oh, and your death metal playlist section is awesome man!! (Didn't see Disincarnate 'Dreams of The Carrion Kind' though...??? -ha)

      @@vesuviacorpseflower4828 Hell yeah!
I smoked some weed to the Fourth Dimension the first time I heard it and it sounded killer.
I didn’t mind the slower doomy sections, and you’re right, it was catchy as hell!
As far as my playlist, I didn’t realize I didn’t have Disincarnate on there! I love the demo and album!

@@MattC.98 Oh, I was just being a smart-ass man -ha. Another great Florida DM album was Resurrection 'Embalmed Existence' 1993 (great on headphones...Alex Marquez's drumming is so tight on that one!!)
What are some other DM favorites of yours man???

I like the Cradle cover of Hallowed Be Thy Name. I remember playing it at an old job when it first came out. There were a couple of older Maiden fans at work that fucking hated it. It just made me laugh when they'd complain. .

Nunslaughter covering Running Wild is one of my favourite covers. Sodom covered 1000 days in Sodom really well too. Bewitched with Thor's Let the blood run red also cool. Another question about covers. Any metal covers of non-metal songs that you like? I do find Sodom's Aber bitte mit Sahne a whole lot of fun. Carpathian Forest doing Discharge's The possibilities of life's destruction is another example that comes to mind.

Osculum Obsinum was one of my favorite death metal albums of all time. The 4th Dimension took a huge turn but, imho was still very good for what it was. I have too many fond memories of that album at that time.
Abducted I felt was one of the best albums of that period just because it was so different from anything else at the time. It had some really good songs on it. Final Chapter was also a good listen. After that I (IMHO) kind of feel off for me personally.
But, can not disagree the first two albums were the best they ever wrote. Without question.
Kind of like Dark Throne's Soulside Journey album. Another forgotten classic I personally love. However They moved on from that style to Transylvanian Hunger and from there on to some of the best Black Metal ever written. Even their crust punk type music is still very good imo.
Understand I was growing up in my teens and twenties and remember these albums being released. Which shows my age...

Masse left Hypocrisy because he cracked one of his eardrums during a show while on tour. Tagtgren took over vocal duties for the rest of the tour but Masse never came back so Peter became the permanent vocalist. You should watch the "20 Years Of Chaos And Confusion" documentary they made, it's up on TH-cam. Very interesting.

@James Bond I have heard the demos it's not bad but korn never did much for me. The only nu metal acts I would go far with were American Head Charge, Static X, orgy, fear factory and maybe Deadsy if you count them. Mostly the industrial type nu metal acts I can get behind. The rest not so much. Again I like more synth new wave and industrial acts more along with black metal and goth metal.
