I really hate elitists. Just because someone has never heard of a band doesn't mean they're not a metalhead. I've heard of a lot of metal bands but never heard them. People like what they like and if you don't like it, that's a you problem, not a them problem.
@@TheTransylvanian It really isn't. I'm not saying anything about "oh pungent stench bad" but listening to them is not necessary for being a metalhead. Are they good? based on how much you like them probably yes. Are they essential to be a "true" metalhead? NO. Everyone has their forte, stop being an elitist and saying "Pungent Stench is required music for a metalhead" because it just isn't. The only band that you maybe could argue is like that is Metallica because of how big they are, and even then, I don't think it's necessary to like them or listen to them to be a metalhead. Joshua is 100% correct.

The only requirement is if you enjoy the music, and regularly listen to it. Would you say that if someone listens to modern metalcore, groove, etc isn't a true metalhead because they don't know about Pantera? No, obviously not. Pantera is important to those genres, they're an amazing band, but you aren't a fake metalhead for not listening or knowing about them.
