- In Italy an 18th birthday is a huge deal. Usually big parties are held and everyone dresses up. But in these times of lockdown and restricitons it would be impossible to hold such an event.
So for Skyes birthday we just made it the best we could. Lots of balloons, lots of cake (to be shared out to family and friends the next day and also to be eaten by us for the next 5 days!) Lots of silver streamers, music and silly hats and sunglasses.. It wasn't what she had dreamed of but it was the best we could do and we all had fun.

Anyone complaining about not getting a reply to their comment needs to grow up. Your whole family has been SO generous sharing your lives with us. I know that your videos have been so helpful for me in quarantine when I feel so disconnected from the rest of the world outside my own home. I enjoy learning about the Italian culture and traditions from someone who is living it, rather than some fly by night youtube vlogger who comes in for a day or so and dashes out. My Dad's parents were raised in Austria and Italy - grandmom was Italian and Pop was German and their families moved to Austria - Salzburg, Grandmom cooked German for Pop but also Italian - taught my mother different dishes and also Mom made her own noodle pasta and Spaetzle - Nocla dropped dumplings - they were hard not soft and used in stews or with fried potatoes with cooked cabbage - very good. I'm second generation on Dad's side and love films made in Italy and Austria. I enjoy the pasta meals you all make - very simple yet very filling - til later MLA

Today is my 75th birthday but I live alone. In fact last year's birthday lunch was the last time I ate out with family. But I had 4 doorstep visitors yesterday (and it's icy cold here) bearing gifts :-)

I'm watching from Greece and it's only minus 5C right now. Love the scene of you sitting having your lunch outside on that beautiful swing and that background to die for!. I spent the afternoon shoveling snow and ice off my veranda and making a path out to my snow-covered car. Italy looks so lovely compared to the weather here!

Carlo we absolutely understand and appreciate the time it takes to make such vlogs and how impossible it would be to answer everyone’s comments. I think we are all lucky that we can share a little bit of Positano and get to share some of your lovely family time. Even seeing the lovely sunshine of a beautiful day cheers me up and reminds me that I will hopefully have the sun on my face again soon when I can travel again. @@NickiPositano Love the Drone videos - Carlo is really good flying the drone. - I love watching the cooking parts - makes me wish I had a garden of tomatoes, green peppers, herbs and cucumbers....but where I live, I'd have to plant in big planters that sit on patio - I do have marigolds planted in warmer weather. I am so happy that you and Nicki keep making videos. Your life is so different to mine! I won't be offended if I don't get a response when I leave comments but feel honoured that you would even show any interest at all in who your subscribers are. I have been completely fascinated by Italian culture since 1998 when my husband and I got the opportunity to do our first travel to Europe. Before that I had never been outside New Zealand and Australia. Rome was our first stop on a 'Round the world' ticket and by living for 5 days in the 'old town' part and then a week in Greve Tuscany, we got to observe the ancient beauty of Italy and the sense of community and culture in a country that seemed to always want to be sunny. I was completely smitten with Italy and have found ways to keep coming back to different parts over the years. For me no other country has ever managed to win such a special place in my heart.
What a delightful escape coming to your channel and being transported to another world where one can leave the “magic virus “ behind and enjoy your delightful company, beautiful garden, cooking and adventures to places we can only dream of. Thank You ❤️
