- Enjoy seeing people panic and getting hit by Ganondorf's up tilt? Then here's a video full of up tilt KOs.
This video contains pretty much all the fatal up tilts I landed in a month's time with Smash3DS. An interesting tidbit, I didn't really have to play that many matches to get all these, I've been seriously landing a up tilt about once in every 2-3 matches. I landed more Ganondorf up tilts in this video than I have in the thousands and thousands of matches I played in all the other Smash games combined. And this is even counting the many many matches I played against subpar and flatout bad players in the laggiest of Brawl wifi.

And people complain that this move is useless. This move is the very essence of Ganondorf. Patience, Power, Precision
People saying it's useless in Smash 4 are just going off the notion that "if it looks the same, it must still be exactly the same!", and never considered how physics/mechanic changes can significantly alter a move's usefulness, thus they never bothered to try using up tilt, especially when the more prominent Warlock Punch is still useless.
It's no joke when I say up tilt has gotten me among the most KOs of any move in Smash 4, with the majority of those kills being sub-100% kills. It's a seriously good move now.

I actually found this kick when I was trying to do an Up-Smash in SSB43DS' Smash Blast.
I got the highest score out of any of my other characters.
Best move ever.

I think I've got more KOs from the warlock punch thanks to people trying to Smash me out of it or bad rolls. However after looking at this it does seem that the up tilt got a very beefy buff in reach? At least it seems so cause some of the hits that seemed were going to fail connected anyway. (Both horizontal and a bit of vertical reach)

That exact thing happened to me once, I was playing as Megaman, and the match was really well evened out, both of us were on our last lives at high percentage, but then as I was recovering, the other guy set off the up tilt, and out of instinct I shielded-only to result in me getting dazed and this guy *relishing the FUCK out of the opprotunity* before proceeding to Warlock Punch me to death.
I'd have been salty about it, but honestly, I just laughed for a literal hour, it was that good.
Any Ganon that shatters a shield must taunt before smiting their victim with Warlock Punch.

Ganondorf's up tilt is not anywhere near the worst in the game, it's an actually pretty damn good move now.

I've never noticed how much horizontal range this move covers until now.
I use Ganondorf regularly and I almost never use his up tilt at all. After watching this, I think I'll start using it now! XD
You and me both, it covers most ledge options due to the range of the explosion. The only thing I can think of to avoid it is slow getup and letting go of the ledge, both of which give Ganny and advantage since he can punish slow getups fairly easy with utilt's minimal endlag and letting go of the ledge gets rid of ledge invincibility.

It's so funny seeing people just hold the Shield Button waiting for it to drop and do nothing, and then its like BAM! BROKEN SHIELD NEUTRAL B!

Actually, a well spaced up-tilt can cover most ledge options:
-Neutral get up -> Hit
-Jump -> Hit
-Roll -> Hit
-Get-up atack -> Hit
-Stay on ledge -> Hit
The only way, apart from spot dodge/perfect shield (as laggy as For Glory is, don't count on those ones), would be to drop the ledge, wait for the kick to come out, and then come back to the stage as fast as possible.
YiToSmash Yeah, up tilt is pretty legit for edge-guarding, especially if you're facing a panicky opponent.
I've never seen many Ganons actually up tilt on me. They always spam either down b or neutral b. That's why I main Mario, since his side b can reflect either of those, and down b can screw with Ganon's down b. I have a video of me recently taking down a Ganon because he went for a grab/down b combo and when he missed the grab, he still went for the down b as I'm FLUDDing him.

A while ago I would have been so salty from you taunting after breaking my shield, now I actually get the joke and laugh so hard from it. Besides, I've been the butt of even more disrespectful moments. One time I played against a Ryu player (the day the DLC came out) that would break my shield every single time I've pulled it out, then taunt like 5 times, and then KO me with a Shoryuken and run to the edge and taunt 5 more times.

Ah, I love Ganondorf in this game... He's still slow as fuck, but hits so hard, that it makes up for it... at least for me. Also dat super armor for his warlock punch is always grand.
I always called Ganondorf's up tilt the Crotch Rocket.

Rolling away is usually the safest option if you have time and have enough stage left to roll back (though it'll give up any chance to punish). Sidestepping can work but is very risky, as the hitbox has a decent duration and you'll die if you're not precise with your sidestep.

Finally someone else who understands how to utilize Ganondorf. I don't know how many times I've seen someone switch to Ganon when I'm whipping them with Ganon. It's fun to watch them fail.
Ugh that's one of the commonly occurring things I loathe. "Oh you use Ganon, I'll go Ganon too LOL!". Yeah it was amusing the first time, now it's just annoying when I'm trying to play Ganon seriously and instead get people trying to Ganon ditto me with their terrible Ganons. When explicitly playing For Glory on 3DS to get clips for this video, about every fourth opponent would try to Ganon ditto me, and only two so far actually had any idea what they were doing (a Falcon player named Skull I uploaded a couple of the matches with, and the Japanese Ganon in this video that actually got me with an up tilt). I ended up just going Dedede or another character of mine when someone tried Ganon dittoing me.
Surprisingly though, when I played a For Glory session for the first time on SmashU the other day where I always lead with Ganon, no one actually tried dittoing me (instead many opted to leave after losing, which is much preferable to wasting my time with a really boring one-sided Ganon ditto).

Yes, however, every now and again, when I'm having a bad day I like to see someone Ganon ditto, just so I can hand them their hides and laugh at them for even trying that.
Also you do exactly what I do when I get a shield burst with Volcano Kick. Taunt and then Warlock Punch.

With the move's combination of extreme power, insane range, shield-breaking capabilities, Smash 4 mechanics aiding trapping with it, and its general unpunishability when used right, this move would almost certainly veer right into OP territory if its startup was anything less than a few frames faster, especially in doubles and FFAs.
Very true! I had someone break my (Fox) shield with it and then proceed to jump over me and try to do a dair, miss, and then try to do another kick and that was just enough time for me to do a down smash.
Omega Tyrant Don't forget its vacuum effect. Enemies within a certain range are drawn in even while walking away.

Dear god. You're a damn good Ganon. Not meaning to complain, but i only one once in "For Glory".
The kick has a vacuum box and ridiculous range. And it baits people... it's legit.
But I cringed when the Shulk dropped into it without countering... >_< (1:30)
Most of these are just traps that you shouldn't fall into. If you watch, most of the clips are from people *intentionally* going in towards Ganondorf. If they went away, or used a ledge option that had more invincibility frames (or just dropping down from the ledge), they probably wouldn't have been caught. They probably still would've lost, because this person is a good Ganondorf, despite my criticism.
P.S. I don't play Ganondorf.
This video is hilarious XD Not saying you're not a good player (them combos tho), but some of your opponents are just...ridiculously dumb. For all those Marths, Shulks, and the other 6 or so that can counter, U-tilt should be no problem for them lol. They must be psyching themselves out :P

I remember when i used to hate Ganondorf in brawl, now for some reason i just love using him, in for glory mode or just games with friends. He's one of those characters that you either love or hate, he has the precision and power to KO even at low percentages and can be great for when a player leaves himself open long enough.
Don't get me started on warlock punch either, it spells humiliation when u KO 3 people at once with it considering that it is pretty useless most of the time.

I don't get the point of making more characters starter without adding any new unlockable characters. They should have just had everyone unlocked from the beginning, it's really pointless to leave a few, half of which are clones, to be locked).

I thought all of them should of been unlock-able. ESPECIALLY Luigi and Jigglypuff (they used to be the only characters who had only been unlock-able). I think it's weird to not have the third party characters unlock-able as well.

Ganondorf's Volcano kick is a instant ko or shield breaker and/or a canceler to some move's.
Not like moving but like this. Kirby used his up special and ganondorf used volcano kick to cancel it.

Aside from smiting shield breaks, when else would it be practical to use Warlock Punch?
Well if you catch your opponent using a really laggy single hit move at a stupid time, you could potentially utilise the super armor on grounded non-reverse Warlock Punch to tank the hit and strike back hard, but that's about it really for practical uses of Warlock Punch.

How do you do the volcano kick?
I wish I could do this attack as easily as you do. Every time I try to do it without jumping first I always end up doing the regular up attack rather than the up tilt attack. Thus messing me up and causing me to get pummeled by those freaking mega man attack spammers who only seem to attack from afar.
Turn tap jump off, and if you actually use tap jump, start using one of the buttons to jump instead.

I would, but you'll honestly probably never get to play me, as I don't really intend to continue playing the 3DS version when I get SmashU outside of getting videos for single player and AI stuff. On the day of SmashU's release when I was under the impression I was still getting it that day, I even grinded a few more hours in Smash3DS's For Glory so I could fill this video out with more clips because of this fact.

The new up tilt they gave him in PM is awful.

Yes, Ganondorf's up tilt is so much better than it's been in any Smash game that wasn't Brawl Minus, it's a seriously good move now. Its range is even more insane than it was in Brawl, its sourspots were strengthened, and most importantly, it instant shatters shields. Smash 4's faster falling speeds, air dodge landing lag, and altered ledge mechanics also significantly buffed it, as it made it so much easier to trap people with it.
