Is as simple as carry two backpacks: armor-plated and high capacity. Wear the armor-plated and loot everything you can and then swap to the high capacity so you can fast travel! Thanks for the vid!
I'm glad I saw this. I was about to start trying to get the hicap mod, but for the sheer amount of grinding involved, I'll stick to carrying my excavator pa around with me 😂
The refrigerated backpack does not stack with good with salt and lowers carry capacity. It also reduces spoil rates. backpacks can not be dropped or sold.
I watched this video to get the high cap backpack. As a bonus you showed me why I should not invest in it straight away, as I will get murdered into a puddle. Your wisdom is grand as usual.
Have done this event quite a few times now and have never got a possum badge. Yes I am possum rank, I have however got 3 badges from doing the daily from kiddie corner in the same amount of attempts..
They make you go through all that for a high capacity mod and then stick a huge debuff on it. Not cool Fallout, not cool. I guess just have it for fast travel. What horrible thing does the refrigerated backpack do?
I endure the debuff because I love to go around with 500 carry weight but don't make the mistake to go around without radaways. The refrigerator reduced your carry weight by 30 at level 50.
Debuff doesnt really matter to me with the 300 energy weapon mutation and chinese stealth suit with 1000 radiation protection. Also wouldn't popping rad x help as well? Or making rad shields?
I have done Campfire Tales eight times since completing the Tadpole questline and crafting my backpack, but have not received a single badge. I do get the occasionally via Stings and Things.
Surprised defenses can go into negatives, that's pretty wild. The energy resistance is more than countered by Grounded mutation, but for the radiation might be worth having a rank of Sun Kissed equipped - even then it looks rough and probably not worth it overall.
I love this event!! I do it EVERY TIME I see it pop up!! I wasted my few badges on the sleeping bag?!! Lol!! I didn’t know I could get backpacks! I didn’t even know how difficult it is to earn the badges
I honestly stopped progressing the Pioneer Scouts challenges as soon as I reached possum rank & got my backpack. My friend won't shut up about the refrigerator & armor mods tho, so I guess it's time to grind this out... As per usual, great video & thanks for the breakdown Marta!
I finally just got this backpack today after being a tadpole for a year I’ve been a possum for less then six month to 3 months Edit: well the increase carrying capacity mod 2nd Edit: it’s worth 8 possum tokens.
Pipboy - Data - shows exact time. The date is unreliable as we go through a time warp every few days, but the time si fine for day/night/sunrise/sunset I have all the mods posted on the forums (Bethesda) with all the details. Made it yesterday.
nice, eventhough i mainly use PA will definitely get the high capacity mod, one thing though can't you just unequip the backpack in battle and equip it again while traveling? (to mitigate the -dr -rd effect) i know i do this with 2 different PA (ex for traveling, x01 for battle)
That's clever. I just use the X01 because of the Rad resistance - but with those sweet 100 extra pounds of carry weight given by Calibrated legs (expensive but worthwhile).
You have no idea how helpful this video is. I did enough challenges to have 7, then tried to do electrician, and I couldn’t restore power to a power plant. Needless to say it was infuriating.

Not sure if they nerfed the droprate of the badges or somthing, i have done the event about 50-70 times and all i have to show for it is 3 badges. Considering the time investment in server hopping and so on not sure if its more time effective just to do the boring as hell challanges to get the badges. Or maby its just me having some insanely bad luck
This event is no option anymore. Its ridiculous rare and even if it appears and you complete it, it seems that it does not reward you with badges anymore. I've did it 4 times now and i'm still on 0 possum badges. Is there any other method to get 8 of this stupid badges without doing the stupid challenges?
Sorry if this has been said already but to trigger the event I heard it must be done after 9pm in game time (the pip boy data screen) going there at night has not been enough for me anyways! Hope this helps.
@@InnovSurvivalist tbh I read the event spawned at 9pm or after ONLY so therefore I have since then only attempted to trigger it at or after that time since I read that. Also I have not paid attention to whether or not the sun is setting at that time it could have been but I don't recall. Maybe it may be worth testing this theory to seen what time it's available from because I know I tried spawning around 5pm 6pm or 7pm previously and it never worked but now I do it only after 9pm and it spawns every time. Like I said just check the pip boy for the time and you can see what time it becomes sunset and if the event has spawned.

What's the trick to actually creating the high capacity backpack? I tried modding my current basic backpack, tried creating a new one & modding that, but nothing seems to work. I've gone back to Camp Adams, to make sure i bought it, & it's not there anymore, so i must have it.
The other two backpack mods don't come with a debuff. Both have max +30 carry weight rather than the +60 of the standard backpack. Essentially turning the standard pack into the Tadpole pack. +30 carry weight is still a buff even if the standard pack gives +60. If you use the Grounded mutation you get +100 ER from it and it negates half the debuffs. 4 perk points into Rad Resistant and pop a diluted Rad-X fixes the other one. Dhouldnt have to do either, dumb choice to give 2 severe debuffs for one mod but no debuffs for the other two.
My friend got 5 possum badges before completing the tadpole quest line. He still needs to complete 3 challenges. 5... And he's one week into the game and not even level 40. I've farmed those quest for weeks upon months and only received 3 between 2 my two highest leveled characters. He's only done the 3 repeatable dailies once each for the quest. Game hates me, I swear
I equipped and un equipped my modded high capacity back pack last night and according to the pip boy menu stats my resistances did not take a hit that it suggests it should take! Only -1 and +1 damage resistance for the backpack it's self when I take it on and of???? I will test again tonight though
I need to test it as well... But even if it doesn't display, I can see the changes lol it's quite noticeable. Maybe there is a display bug, wouldn't be new.
I bet the armor plated mod with deep pocketed limbs in your armor would be good. Deep pocketed limbs can get you up to 70+ carrying capacity without the backpack, and doesnt go into the negatives in defense
I’ve farmed this event a lot on a character with 13 luck and I have noticed a few times the badge icon popping up after completion but it never adds a badge. Is there a bug where badges appear in completion but no +1
I was trying to get possum badges to upgrade my backpack from 30 to 40 carry weight .Had no joy so went to my workbench and found I could craft a level 50 backoack that holds 60 .Amazing ! Have been changing to stealth build and dropped from 15 strength to 8 so far and this more than makes up for the 35 I ve lost.
I haven't finished the tadpole quest but still got some possums badges and got the possum plan bag back thinking it will give me the bag and couldn't craft it turning out it's a skin :/

No you're not, the Possum Badge rewards from the event are random. You can get it any time with Nia or the bugs. Look at 10:20 I got a badge with the bugs variation :)
Great video. Much needed clarification on the farming aspect. As for 1000 Limit on scrips it is ridiculous it should be same as caps, i am full already. Can you make a video on the backpack mods?

It makes no sense. I mean the refrigerator one yeah, you're putting a refrigerator in your backpack so obviously it will restrict storage but wth is with the decreased rad & energy resistance with high capacity? Are you strapping led barrels and batteries to your backpack or something? Sheesh.
An easier way to check the time is to use your pipboy. You can see it under every tab with the original view, if you switch it to HUD view then cycle to radio to see the time. In addition, cheers to letting others get hits on the Wendigo, most players are selfish and will just kill bosses and legendaries without sharing by allowing others to get a hit before they kill it.
Gave it a test and ran event 10 times today - pretty easy and straightforward after watching above video. Unfortunately badges didn't drop even once for me. Can anybody say they got badges from this after last update?
You may want to look at the patch notes. I skimmed through it a few days ago and rent something about: fixed possem badges. With that said, I did the campfire quest several times out of boredom and I notice I have 3 possem badges for some reason.

There are definitely at least a few people who needed that explained.
Doing these events may be the only realistic way to get these badges because many of the challenges are bugged and can't be completed.
True, I forgot to mention that... I did half of the Musician and then... bugged. That's when I started looking for alternative ways.

I've tried this so many times now, not a single one of them has triggered the event, so a 90% chance doesn't sound right.

I noticed some of the challenges stopped unlocking, and only started unlocking again onces I started tracking them from the Challenges menu.

To counter it a little you should get the Grounded mutation (+100 energy resistance)
Actually I just made a second backpack. That way if I need the extra carry weight I just switch
so if i use the regular tadpol bag with 60 add weight. fine...i want 120 and its going to reduce my resistance...thats kinda BS.
You can check the in game time on your Pip-Boy, classic view. If I recall correctly, 8:00 pm is when "night time" begins.
It starts at 6 pm due to perk cards
The final one you did, why it show you earned 31 possum badges but when you go to the machine you had a trial of seven???

Yes, if you press the Journal (quests) button, you get the time of day. 6 AM to 6PM is day, after 6 PM is night until 6AM again.

Yes, you have a slight change to get a Possum Badge, it pops every 4-5 events for me.

I'd use it if I needed to fast travel but was overweight. Then just switch back to the regular pack when done.

If you go to your radio tab in the pip boy it'll actually tell you the exact time on the bottom left

Yeah, I got the high capacity mod and its terrible for defense. I just use it when I get encumbered and to get to a place to sell my stuff.
That's what I think too but I got no other mod right now, so... Gotta use no mods or this one for the time being.

There used to be a bug right after release. I was bugged... but it got quickly fixed for me. Are you checking your badges on the Possum machines?
I checked the machine and I’m still at the same amount as before. It shows the possum badge emblem after completion but zero points.

I have terrible luck I've done the campfire tales 10 to 12 times and have yet to get a badge.
Wow that's not... nice... I think it also depends on your Luck. I increased it to 11 and I am getting badges so often I got 2/4 yesterday.

can we get an updated video or can you or someone tell me a better way to far possum badges? i have 3 and all 3 i got legitimately doing the challenges but its seriously tedious and campfire tales isn't 100% and the method where you can spawn it whenever you want is patched. Thank you :)
The camp event never spawns for me.. so stupid it's so hard to get these things.

Is getting the badges still as awful? The penalty from high cap?

It makes no sense. I mean the refrigerator one yeah, you're putting a refrigerator in your backpack so obviously it will restrict storage but wth is with the decreased rad & energy resistance with high capacity? Are you strapping led barrels and batteries to your backpack or something? Sheesh.
What about the one from the atomic shop what debuffs does that one have ?

An easier way to check the time is to use your pipboy. You can see it under every tab with the original view, if you switch it to HUD view then cycle to radio to see the time. In addition, cheers to letting others get hits on the Wendigo, most players are selfish and will just kill bosses and legendaries without sharing by allowing others to get a hit before they kill it.

Gave it a test and ran event 10 times today - pretty easy and straightforward after watching above video. Unfortunately badges didn't drop even once for me. Can anybody say they got badges from this after last update?
You may want to look at the patch notes. I skimmed through it a few days ago and rent something about: fixed possem badges.
With that said, I did the campfire quest several times out of boredom and I notice I have 3 possem badges for some reason.
So my luck on SPECIAL is ten will that help in any way?
