It's in his best interest to learn English, but it's not in his best interest to give interviews in English. If I could piss off my future opponents just by speaking my language instead of putting myself at a disadvantage and opening myself up to ridicule and trash talk by trying to speak theirs, I'd certainly use that to my advantage.

look here's the deal. conor cannot and i repeat he cannot out point floyd mayweather in a full 12 round boxing fight. he doesn't have enough experience to do that. all he can do is brawl him and beat him up and KO him. that's the only way he wins. that means he cannot try to box with him. he has to use his unorthodox stance as if he's fighting UFC and then hit him with a lot of body shots to slow floyd down and then try to KO him in as few rounds as possible. that's his ONLY chance

I like boxing and MMA, and think Loma is one of the best ever...but one man isn't going to save boxing. Times change. I'm 48 and watched some of the best fights back in the day, like Hagler/Hearns. There's just too many entertainment choices available nowadays for boxing. It isn't that people don't like boxing anymore, it's that they have a lot more things that compete for their attention.

It's amazing that this wasn't even that long ago and Loma didn't speak a lick of English. I don't hold it against him since he's never lived in America as far as I know. But now Loma speaks better English than some people that have lived in America for 20+ years. Those people should be ashamed of themselves. Loma is a genius though. I think he'd do well in MMA too with his boxing skills combined with his grappling experience if he ever wanted to venture out of boxing.
