My husband just had stents put in. He is an old guy, me an old gal!! Me 78 & He 79. anyway, I love you two. I love Tom’s youthful attitude but he is young and adorable, that is a compliment now Tom, you do great work and I loved hearing you explain and educate what you were doing with that horse. Yes, I love Gorgeous Sam, he is the cutest thing ever, but Tom is too. You both are hunks and if I was a younger lassy, I would take either one of you on age permitting! 😮😊

Ooh that’s just up the road from me, had some good lessons there. I miss my gypsy cob so much, he was my emotional support horse lol. Since losing him, my house and my health I’ve been very, very depressed, so have to get my horsey fix by watching you guys. Maybe one day I will be lucky enough to spend time around horses again, even if I can’t ride anymore.

Tyson seemed very curious….thinks he’s an apprentice! Do horse drool like dogs when get happy? I know feeding a snack can be hilarious! I went to a chemo ward to visit a dear who was dying of cancer. She had been unable to ride for some time, but loved her gorgeous Appaloosa mare. I had some little apples for after we rode. I was covered in apple bits, foam and saliva. It was so funny! Going into the hospital like that had everyone laughing. It was fun moment in a hard week for my friend

I live in South Central Alaska. I love the banter between Sam & Tom and of course the horses. We have same damp climate and combined with boggy permafrost it can be very expensive and time consuming to have horses. The long term commitment is often not understood and can lead to horrendous animal neglect if the romance of having a horse wears off. I appreciated your honesty on why you don’t have a horse of your own Please could you stress that horse ownership is expensive and involves more than just playtime Keep the blogs coming Horses have a rich heritage and connection with humans - id love to hear more about the variety of reasons people acquire the horses
Hey Deb!! Matanuska? Ketchikan here (rainiest place in all of the North American Continent) -- we had horses long ago- but hoof rot - they could not keep them here. I've been here 45 years, still see "Horse crossing" signs out the road, but no horses! Pennock - a small island across the way - they had cows! In the 1950's - 70's, I know the daughter (she's old now) of a man that would risk his life every morning to get the milk over to this island to bring school kids milk - "because he knew the kids needed their milk". God must have protected him, as we get up to 100mph winds!

I do like the fact that these videos feel more real life as if we were there in person with you, rather than a big film production like a "reality program" with all the bells and whistles with crew and staff. I am in awe of how much knowledge is needed and a little cross with myself for not knowing. You mentioned in one of the vlogs that you are doing your degree, which is great but it time must be a real b*** ache juggling everything but all worth it when said and done……all I see is a master at work so what is your degree in, there is always something new to learn, so enjoy it and keep us posted. I love it when Tom laughs at himself when Sam is imitating him. When you can laugh at yourself when someone you know loves/respects you and you can have fun and laugh along, that proves that Tom is a mature young man and a strong, self confident young man when he has gotten to that point of being able to be made fun of and laugh along. Way to go Tom. You can laugh at yourself. In fact, you have heard, imitation is the highest form of adulation, honor and respect for another person. I love it when Sam teases Tom, and Tom laughs and gives it right back to Tom. great fun.

In the wild horses walk all day to eat and drink. They naturally wear off their hooves. They’re not stuck in a stall and/or living in non-abrasive grass pastures.

Thank you for explaining about the nails. I've often wondered how you know what length of nails to use AND the angle to hammer them in. I can see how important knowledge and experience is to do it correctly.
