I never rolled one. The closest I came was in south east Washington. I was pullin an empty 53 ft. dry van. It was really windy and it was hitting me straight from the drivers side. I noticed something felt a little different and when I looked in the mirror, all of the tires were about a foot off the pavement. Just when I thought it was going over, the wind let up and the tires came back down... Ironically, my boss was in the same area about two weeks after my trip and the same thing happened to him, except he went over on the drivers side. It had been snowing and there was a couple feet of snow on the ground. When he went over, it popped the windshield out, and as he slid down the highway it packed the cab full of snow. He was trapped but fortunately there was another truck right behind him, so he stopped and dug him out of the cab. It was his first trip back after being off for six months because of health issues, AND he was in his new conventional Freightliner that only had 3800 miles on it. He decided after that, it was time to retire...
That's one of the things I miss about running over the road. Them food trucks in Laredo has the best food ever. During the 90's when I went down there that's the only food I'd get.
Bidets. That’s the auto butt washer toilet 😂😂😂 I moved from sleepy Chariton, IA to Detroit,MI. A real mild winter here. It was 70 yesterday, 58-60 today and tomorrow? 41 and flurries. Mother Nature needs to take her menopause meds! What can we do🤷🏼♀️ I hope First Class gets you there safely and it warms up some. Safe travels!
I finally went in for lazer eye surgery for that reason. Tripping over stuff or worse going from cold to hot or reverse glasses fogging up. I had it done 18 years ago and still one of the best decisions I ever made. Would pay 10X more than I did.
Mother Nature is going through menopause. Hot flashes and mood swings. You have had good travel weather for the most part this winter. I remember the trip with Troy where the trailer was lifting up. That was crazy. Thanks for the ride and sharing your lovely toilet experience. I'm so happy you enjoyed the go. Stay safe, and God bless.
Damn... That's a fancy truck stop. I've never seen one that had a bidet crapper. I wonder how many of the current generation of new "truck drivers" thought it was for washing their hands too LOL...
I’m hear, it’s march you have to expect up and downs weather, but we made it through the worst part of winter, good to see you out again and have a safe trip and prayer go out for you and your family and let the adventures begin
Today March 6/24 when I started my school at 6am bus it was -31 C (-23F ) thank goodness there was no wind . Monday it was -40 C , we didn’t run 🥶. Stay warm my friend and safe travels 🇨🇦🚌👍
+ Every time you mention that name ; ( Tapeeca ) Kansas ; Acts 9 : 40 comes to my mind, it's that dead young girl's name that St. Peter raised back to life. Maybe she is originally from Kansas ?! ( Ta - bee - tha ) is how it is pronounced in original languages !! 😊
Love those pipes, nice below sound . I had same on tractor I drove , International long nose like yours with a wet line . Only problem didn’t have a sleeper on it . Slept on pice plywood with 3” foam from seat to seat . How those pipes would sound out especially with the j break . I miss it for I’m retired now and can’t drive because of my hips.
Kurt you could always be trucking on Donner pass in Cali. And be looking at all the snow they got and more on the way. Especially when they had wind gusts close to 100 miles a hour
Hey Kurt ….i think it’s time to get some new chrome caps on those front rims ….polish the rims and grille surround and get ready for clean truck season ….love your videos buddy …I get upset when you have to go to those muddy drop lots of…I just hate that ….food plants should not be like that but whatever….guntren needs to get his trailers all detailed up for spring and summer ….be safe and keep up the great work !!!!
Kurt, I retired after 50 years of trucking.. I pulled almost every type of trailer but never a reefer. Are you responsible for keeping fuel in the reefer tank and who pays for that? Also you mentioned about Opies bed being hard.. Could that maybe part of his shoulder problems? Love watching your videos it keeps me from not miss trucking as much.. But I do really enjoy retirement.. Stay safe !! Love you and your family life!!
I had to get a blanket to finish watching your video! I’ll say one thing, your videos are never dull. Sometimes I even learn something 🧐 Keep on trucking my friend, and thank you for always leaving us wanting more.
When you get that feed at Saint Joe Missouri is that down there by the old truck wash? I think they used to call the feed store Albert's? We used to pick up feed there and bring back. But that was back in the 1970s . We always miss the star ⭐️ of the channel.
Whoa Kurt you should have put an R rating on this video!! Not only were you flashing the flesh( Super trucker bod) but your just experiencing a bidet for the first time and telling everyone about blow-drying ya butt crack🫣🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Used to love stopping at those Sapp bros centres so nice inside 😁 Stay safe drive 👍👍
Loved the video. I said to my wife hey I know right where he’s at… I used to pull batteries out of there right down the street from where you were in st joes!! Small world
That rocking in high winds you get with a Volvo is the cab air-suspension rocking with the wind. It's not the truck rocking at the chassis level. You get used to it. Try a European cab-over in cross winds. They are scary at first, but you get used to it, and after a while, you don't notice it. There is nothing to worry about, just the cab airsprings flexing.
+ A piece of plywood covered with a plastic bag strapped behind the cap so you don't have to lay down on the snowy wet ground, after a certain age we have to be more careful.
I know you have money to be made and other priorities that are more important, but I am wondering if you have plans for putting a new nice shiny paint job on the old girl any time soon. I enjoy riding with you very much, but I'm hoping you'll do something with the hood on the wonderful KW. Make her shiny again please.
I used to bring in a flag that big at a Gulf Gas Station I worked at. Two of us would usually go out to bring it down. But if it was windy it could be exciting. As I was only 110 lbs at 15 years old. lol It had taken me completely off the ground more then once.
One winter night many years ago I was parked in a truck stop in North Dakota. The truck was parked facing the wind and very little heat was coming out the heater vents. I had to turn the truck around to get heat. As far as the last minute of you video, is there a chance that you were in the wrong rest room? Just kidding. Safe travels.😊
I once had an Econoline 150 and the first time i drove it on a windy day, it nearly pushed me into a ditch. That was only a 30 mph wind. I can't imagine being in a semi in like 50 to 60 mph winds. I like to give semis a wide birth. lol
My sister has one those shitters , I was afraid to lift the seat.Come to think of it I haven't heard from my sister since I visited .Hell maybe I forgot to put the seat down. Keep the sunny side up.
6:39 - What is odd about this picture? A radio tower in a valley, next to a hill that's about as tall as the tower. Why wasn't the tower put on the hill?
I was wondering have you ever thought about getting a big shield for first class it might help you out with the wind by deverting it away from the front of your truck
Kurt, I haven't seen comment, did you get Antenna changed on CB ? If you mentioned in a video, I'm sorry I missed your comment. Enjoying videos in Georgia.
+ Animals in general; especially big dogs don't do well ❤️🩹 on the road, it affects their nerve system badly, they consider themselves responsible for your well-being but they see you talking to yourself ( camera ) const. make them sad . You have to; get a stuffed animal...
So how do ya like those backside washers?! When I was out there working on the bridge reconstruction in 2019, that's when I encountered 'em. Wasn't that a Sapp Bros. then? Anyway, I've been wondering ever since where I can get those for home! Lol! Stay safe & WARM!! 😂
You are in the fancy section! With a butt washer too? Wow. Be safe and hope you don’t get the snow storm that went through here over the weekend. 11 feet of snow on 80 at Donner summit
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 My kids made fun of me for getting a bidet to put on my toilet about 5 yrs ago. Now they have one and their tune has changed.
you had a vlog were your trailer tires were catching air a few times while it was windy a couple of years ago , or was that in 2020 ? anyway that was pucker factor right there just watching it

When it's cold, just recall your fond memories of the food from the taco trucks while in Laredo.

If it's menopause, I'm sure I'll say something with good intentions, but it will make it worse.
Awesome video Kurt👍👍👍
I'm not sure if you have heard the song, 'Got to Keep on Truckin.... Got to keep on...Truckin... Love your videos, hang in there, brother!
Yes I have
The toilets at the Petro in Oak Grove will wash your butt without even permission lol.
Love it when you talk truck.
That change in the weather last week in Iowa was brutal. Just Mother Nature reminding us that she’s in charge and it is still winter after all.

I was just up there this morning in Sioux City looking at some reefer trailers. Pretty cool place.
Nice video Kurt! Be safe…especially with this crazy weather 🌪️❄️🌧️ Can’t wait to see Opie next week ❤🐾

yeah ive been to that Sapp Bros. before lol!

Have you ever seen a semi called Topsy? Look up Edison Motors and look for Topsy. That's the way to make a diesel electric semi or any vehicle.

Kurt please stop pulling the reefer trailer around and start the hopper bottom content 👍👍👍OK
Hopper freight is cheap and bad right now in a lot of areas. But, I do love hopper though.

6:39 - What is odd about this picture? A radio tower in a valley, next to a hill that's about as tall as the tower. Why wasn't the tower put on the hill?
Being a truck stop, I imagine they charge you for using the bidet.
Mother nature does funny things at strange periods
It definitely does Wayne
Take good care of yourselves won't you Kurt
CHECK First Class passing trucks!! hammer!!
I was wondering have you ever thought about getting a big shield for first class it might help you out with the wind by deverting it away from the front of your truck
Oh no! The Canadian Air Force is on the loose. Watch out as they can get nasty.
Looks like the clear coat on the hood is going away.
Kurt, I haven't seen comment, did you get Antenna changed on CB ? If you mentioned in a video, I'm sorry I missed your comment.

Kurt I've noticed you never grind a gear when you shift...I grind gears when I drive my car and its an automatic
Keep it slow and steady.
. It really is a treat to listen to you shift that truck, absolutely smooth
do you ever use those mirror mounted fog lights? must be pretty bad when you have to?
I haven't since I up graded to the LED headlights

You loved that toilet the BDAY as they call them 😂
Lol, first time for me

Same ones
Trucking sucks in winter time
Who got you into trucking?
My uncle
was it a warm ass wash or a cold ass wash you forgot to tell us.
Was it warm water at least?
Dam near hot
Hate those ant eater trucks.
It is al ways worth a try to put your dog on a raw meat diet to help him out. Give it a couple of weeks at least.
You should be draining 😅your air system every day
Butt washer I mean
Don't you sleep there
Yup, usually out on a out road, but I needed to hide from the wind.
How many piggies does it take to make 43K of livers ? That just sounds like a lot of pigs must have had to donate their insides to fill that truck.
