Aurora is an incredible artist. There isn't a song by her that I don't like. If you want to watch another performance I would recommend "Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)" at the Noble Peace Prize Concert in 2015.

YES, it is so incredible! And she was only a child when she performed it.
The concept for this radio programme is that the artist comes in an hour before the performance, and doesn't know which song they'll cover before then, and that's the time they have to make the cover and rehearse it. The reason for the "nananananana's" is to desexualize the lyrics somewhat. Apparently.

Toto M. She doesn’t have any problem with sexuality at all, as you could get for some of her interviews. I guess she probably didn’t feel like the sexualization wasn’t part of her interpretation of the song
@@Halistermatify As an Aurora fan, my assumption was that she interpreted it more as feminine empowerment than sexuality. And yes, sexuality can be part of empowerment, but she tends to interpret female empowerment as something vastly more than sexuality. But as she has openly talked about masturbating in interviews before, that is definitely not a topic she is shy about. Her song, "Animal" is VERY sexual, especially if you watch the video.
Yes Toto, sexuality can be beautiful, but it is not everything. I don't think her interpretation of the lyrics are unfortunate at all.
@@DreamsInWild Agreed. She does this song in full blown and blossoming theological interpretation, in her own fairy way. The lyrics are actually very deep, and call also for this special interpretation. The One is not the God Above All, he's in She, the sentient, actual love. Kind of related with the "What if God was one of us" in that sense.
NRK P3 is a radio channel that has very young listeners.
I think the nahnahnah parts are because she wants to remove the parts of the lyrics that are overly sexual, focusing on female empowerment instead of just another "girl gives good sex" lyrics.
I think it was a time issue. P3 Live is a radio show and the artists do an interview and get to sing one of their own song and do a cover, but they do not know in advance what song they will be covering and only get to know that less than an hour before they go on live. In that time the artist has to make an arrangement, memories the lyric as much as possible and rehearse a couple of time, and then they go on live. Aurora has covered Wrecking Ball, Believer, God Is A Woman and Det Hev Ei Rose Sprunge (a German Christmas song form 1599 sung in Norwegian) on P3 Live, and you can see she has notes in front of her with the lyrics.
You should try reaction to her original song “through the eyes of a child” i recommend the Vivo live version. It’s the best

Another thing to note is Aurora only did this cover because of the program she was on. The artists are given a cover to perform and have an hour to practice it before going on. The song is not her style in how sexuality is expressed, but she did it her way and it's gorgeous. Softened into more spiritual and loving, imo. That is why she and Silja had written notes in front of them, and why she did nananana for the one line. :)
This is completely her own song. It’s more sultry to me, more intended love than just sexy. It’s lays out a very strong presence of ethereal magic, powerful gracefulness and femininity to that you really feel that God IS a Woman with a touch of innocence.
There’s so much magic in her voice. It’s so calming in a world of chaos.
When I see how many people love Aurora, I fell a little bit less lonely in this world.
Her live performances are better than her recorded songs. She is very expressive.
My recommendations are Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1) live at the Nobel Prize, Soft Universe, and All Is Soft Inside
Aurora doesn't give performances. She lives performances.
As far as I know, she didn't like the lyrics at this part, so she sang this nananana. As you can see, she read the lyrics from a paper. I also heard, they had about a 10min rehearsal to do the song.
30 minutes to rehearse... That's the thing in this radio show :)

Staffan Karlsson that just makes this even more amazing, it’s like watching real magic happen. Listening to Aurora for so long I love how much this performance just encompasses her spirit in the song.
I heard this with Aurora before I heard it with Ariana Grande and I thought it was her song. So yes...

These NRK shows bring in a band/singer and give them a piece of music they have not covered. They must prepare and rehearse then play in 1 hour. Aurora and her amazing band did this from conception in under 60 minutes.
Churchyard, It Happened Quiet, the Murder Song, All is Soft Inside - so many choices for you. One hallmark of her creations is the matching of the angelic vocals with the terrible and the violent. A darkness abounds underneath. Her view of the world, perhaps. If it's true, as one listener writes below (above?), that she had only one hour to arrange the God is a Woman performance, then I would say the word genius is not out of place for what she created.

AURORA Teardrop (Massive Attack cover) is great
Aurora sings with her whole body. It's why I love watching her live performances. Her gestures, dancing and facial expressions speak to her lyrics. She has said her early performances look odd to her now. She was terrified of performing at first, stood still at the mic, but the energy that went through her when she sang had to go somewhere, so came out as constant hand movements without her really realizing it. Now, of course, her movements are expansive and graceful.
Oh, absolutely, when I first saw this video, I thought it was one of Aurora's songs. I have never heard Ariana sing it, and am not sure I want to because I love the performance with Aurora and her band so much. :) As you delve into Aurora's music, you will see. All of her performances are marvelous. I will say that the Nidarosdomen 2017 Christmas concert was breathtakingly special. Not like the wonderful, wild energy of her usual concert venues (because of where she was, of course). But so very lovely. Please more AURORA'S !! Majority of the music she does are inspired by mother nature. I recommend you: "Warrior" (red bull session) "through the eyes of a child" (vevo lift UK) or "it happened quiet"
I've never heard Ariana Grande sing this song and I'd say yes, this is completely done in Auroras style. She does the same with Nature Boy, and Half the World Away. I don't know what the term is but the way she slides between notes is phenomenal and just so her. Also, she has perfect pitch so she hits note directly like you said. There's no need to adjust pitch to hit the note when you're that talented.

Haven't heard the original, so to me this is an Aurora song ;)
This performance was almost totally unrehearsed. Both Aurora and her backing singer had the words written out. But Aurora didn't like what one of the lines was saying - hence the nanananas.
Aurora is the voice you hear as "the wind spirit" in the song "into the unknown" from Frozen II

OMG yes. Infections of a Different Kind is her best body of work. You should check that out. She's an amazing artist.
I was someone who heard this song without ever hearing the original. After I'd heard it a few times I went and looked up the original and I left in about 20 seconds. The words are the same but it's a completely different song.
I heard Aurora's version before I heard Ariana Grande's original - and to me, Ariana Grande's songs sounds like a pretty "icky" remix.
I'm 52 and not much into most popular music so Aurora's cover was the first time I heard this song and I did indeed first assume that it was an Aurora original. I also thought the same about Nature Boy at first. 😍
Another thing to note, I have read on other reaction videos, from fans who have kept up with her, that she did this cover because of the program. She sings her own song on it, but apparently the musicians are given a song to cover and have an hour to practice it before going on. The song is more sexual than she cares to 'convey', thus the nanana on that one line. And thus the notes (the papers) she and Silja had in front of them. But, yes, she made it gorgeous, managed to make it a bit spiritual and loving...pure Aurora!
I didn't know that this was by Ariana Grande until you just told me today. I guess I can stop looking for Aurora's version of this now. Thanks a lot Nina.
We as people might have a lot of regrets. We might even despise the way history of the world went. But all of that, the entire package of good and evil lead each of us to have those moments, when you can just say: I want to keep that in me, I want the time to freeze so I can feel this feeling for the first time a little longer. That's what popped in my mind when I discovered Aurora.

She makes it her own. She does this to many other covers of songs. You should check them all out. Also, her latest release of the Frozen 2 song is beautiful!
You have to see her version of 'Teardrops" by Massive Attack. Its breathtaking.
I definitely think Aurora made the song her own. I recommend Running With The Wolves, I Went Too Far, Conqueror, Black Water Lillies (my ABSOLUTE favorite from her), Murder Song, Warrior, Queendom, Churchyard, Animal and Apple Tree

Aurora definitely makes her covers hers. I appreciate that. When many do covers they try to make an exact note for note copy of the original version. I like to see another artist interpret it as if it were their own.

Nina. Aurora is the next step I human musical evolution. I’m really not kidding.
Silja Sol is Aurora backup singer & is an artist in her own right & has released her own albums. Her voice is quite different sounding to Aurora's but very beautiful on its own & when paired with Aurora's can produce beautiful harmonies. The rest of her band are awesome too there's been a couple of different members other the years but they've all been great.
Magnus, the drummer/percussionist, is the only constant band member from the beginning.

But I also wished it had included more about her band members as well. I've always wanted to know more about the early days. Like how Aurora met Magnus, Silja, Odd Martin, & Selma.

I have listened to most of AURORA’s songs and I would say this one isn’t really her style, but she definitely made it her own. Her songs are generally more dynamic and emotional and I recommend you listen to as much of this very original and other-worldly artist as you can
This is Aurora song. After listening to this I searched for Ariana's original and I couldn't hear that for more than 10 seconds! Aurora is a great artist and she can sing the phone book if she's asked to.

I typically listen to the heavier varieties of metal (deathcore, slam, downtempo etc) but have an avid fascination with Aurora.
Have never heard the Ariana Grande version and feel I never could as I strongly feel this as Aurora's song

This show she is on, gives the artist the name of the cover they will do 1 hour prior to performance and they have 1 hour to arrange it as they want it. so they did this arrangement in one hour.
At last! I'll be waiting for more Aurora and your analysis. A suggestions for a new artist and the analysis of her voice, Rosalía, her voice is unique if we talk about she being more under the Spotlight now and comparing her with mainstream singers.
I hadn't heard this song until I saw Aurora sing it, I thought it was her own song. I then found out it was a cover so went and watched the original, and I think this version is way superior, and really speaks to the soul, when the original was just a pop song.
