Do Brave DB's even have the slight chance of being even remotely viable for speedruns or even in general? It's looking like the poor man's Brave LS at the moment.
Imo yes, I've tried both Striker and Brave DB on Valfalk and they delivered similar results, but in the end I went with Striker because I love that drill hunter art

Jon Aganekwu but the elemental damage does remain the same for all the hits you land, doesn't it? and on top of it being an art that hits ONE spot MANY times, and even more due to wolf's maw, it's crazy damage on more than a few monsters' heads

Pretty low, but i'm pretty sure u can deal insane elemental dmg since its stay the same and scales with hits and if wolf's maw procs on these its even more insane ^^
it actually has less because only one blade applies thunder element while the other para status, effectively halving the displayed element/status attack.
ah i see... but kirin DB has more thunder attack right? or you also looking for raw dmg too? i mostly use kirin DB for thunder attack tho, and how about Thunderclap works? thats thunder DB from event quest, that has a nice thunder attack too
I still don't have a clue about how Canta is doing that dash-spinning attack without a combo! I've tried doing it in Gen (as Canta has stated during stream that striker db has always been good) but I can never do it without entering a X+A+X combo. Can someone, if not Canta himself, please help me out? XD

Is it feasible to hit Val's neck while he's tripped? During rage mode, the head stops taking elemental damage, so you'd be doing more damage to his neck (40/25) than to his head (55/0).
True, but you're not using the HA on 100% of trips. I'm thinking more that spending time to walk around the head to get a clear shot of the neck might not be worth your time, but it's a small optimization that could shave a few seconds off.
It's a buffed state that is initiated by a designated SP Hunter Art or Palico/Prowler Skill, which provides bonuses based on the level of SP achieved and the Style of the hunter, which applies to all members of a hunting party. The different levels are achieved by SP being activated by different Hunters, Prowlers, and Palicos while another's SP is still active.

no, elemental damage has different attack count on different spot, it shame when you land not in weakest elemental spot, that's how elemental works

The only two Dual Blade styles I've seen in Gen in my 300 hours are Arial and Adept and like 2 or 3 guild.

According to Kiranico, his head has no elemental weakness when enraged. The forelegs and wing legs are still free game though

It only has a bit more thunder but less raw and no affinity, making it inferior overall unless you go purely for element

It's not as easy with Valfalk because 1. his frontleg hitzones are shit 2. you have to flinch it twice to make it trip.

The hunter art requires you to hit a weakspot, so there's that.

Well, that's what I did when it was enraged and the hunter art wasn't ready, but most of the time it was out of rage mode when tripped.
