    We rescued a dog who is pretty badly chaffed around the neck, but who is IMMACULATELY leash trained. He is such an amazing leash walker, but has major collar sensitivity, and now we know why (chaffing). We also suspect he was overdisciplined. I used your video to make him a gentle slip lead out of paracord. We've worked hard to build up his trust and he let me put the slip lead around him with no problem. This video was so easy to follow. Thank you!

      Yeah but that’s not the proper position for the rope, it needs to be right behind the ears I back of the jaw, I just watched a Cesar Milan video about this lol

      it would only stay tight if you keep pulling on it constantly. The beauty of a slip lead is that it will release to a point of comfort for the dog and not cause any damage. That's why there is the little locking knot to limit how loose the lead will get. And like @marmaidreefer said, you should keep the slip lead up behind the ears.

      If you are constantly pulling, then you are doing it wrong. Whether you use a slip lead or a regular collar, if you pull constantly you will cause damage. A slip lead helps prevent dogs from slipping out of a collar or leash, they are great safety and training tools when used properly. They are the only leash we use at my work because they are the safest when used properly.

    Does this come loose if the dog pulls? That knot seems like my dog would break it easy and hes only 15 weeks

    Where's the tightness stopper so you don't kill your dog

    • @ericay3225
      @ericay3225 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Your dog is the tightness stopper, lol. Unless you hang them in a tree or something, this isn't going to kill your dog. These are the only type of leashes we use at my work because they are the safest when used properly.

    that's a noose

    • @ericay3225
      @ericay3225 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, a noose is way bigger, tied differently and if done properly snaps a person's neck so they don't strangle. This is a great training tool. We only use slip leads where I work because they are the safest.
