18-8 IL 440 (60s) FWR

This run improves my previous record by 1s.
RTA time: 1m 55s 967ms (prev. 1m 56s 960ms by me)
Pretty happy to pull this off, 18-8 is a long level with many tricky strategies and precise movement. It goes without saying there is a lot that can wrong which is what makes this one of the hardest IL's in the game.
I made lots of small changes to make things generally faster or more consistent. Compared to the previous IL...
- spring jump directly to the pipe (I switch from circle-pad to d-pad for this 1 room!)
- noteblock triple jump (mainly for swag)
- shell wall carries with ONLY 2 Wall-JUMPS saves ~0.7s very technical as you need to maximise height of the shell carries (I won't elaborate but this is very difficult)
- big bounce on the bumper at 1:30 and jumping off the vine after instead of just propelling from vine for consistency
- Ducked pipe entries as fire and big Mario (to save RTA time) at 1:15 and 1:37
- Low walljump at the start of bowser.jr room saves ~0.1s
- not doing a wall jump at start of final room (saves at most 4 frames and usually only 1 or 2) so I deemed this not worth it
Mistakes were missing 1 conveyor jump 1:09 ~0.2s, wall jumping barely too low at 1:13 ~1s, losing a bit of speed jumping into the pipe 1:20 ~0.1s, and being a bit too far left coming out of the clown car at the end ~0.1s.
still impressed I was able to beat the previous IL with the big mistake at the end of the fire room. That being said I will be going for a 441 in the near future to try and get the sub 1 minute on this stage.
