I did the same thing. Return the fulaim and purchased a DJI. My main reason, anything, and I mean anything gets in between the transmitter and receiver, the audio gets broken up. Yes, I could use the internal recording but as you said, that is just a pain. So far I have not had that issue at all with the DJI. I can tell you for me. The extra money was well spent. Thanks for the video.
Useful to hear your reasoning. I'm hearing a lot of crackles, or maybe distortion from slight peaking on the first few sections there (listening on a MacBook Pro) it goes away when you switch to the internal recording- so perhaps it was volume levels on the receiver/camera? Incidentally I preferred the "unedited" audio, as the compressor/mastering tended to emphasise the room ambience and lost some of the naturalness. *edit* Ah, I see others have said the same, glad you have figured it out.
Hi Amy. I think your regular studio mic sounds better in the studio than the DJI wireless mic. I thought the audio from the DJI mic sounded a little drab, with not much depth. I didn’t think the recorded audio from the transmitter sounded better at all. You might check to see how adding basic EQ adjustments on your audio track in post could help. 👍🏻💜👍🏻
This entire video is recorded with the DJI mic. I personally think when I had it connected to the camera, sound was blown out. I have to turn the camera volume down. I thought the internal recording sounds great tho
Did you knock the sound source off on your camera? I think you may have to do that in the settings of your camera for the DJI to take over as the sound source 🤔
I don't know which camera you have but I know in my experience anytime I used a mic plugged into any of my Canon cameras as long as I had my canon volume at 1 to 2 from the left side the camera preamps would interfere much with my external mics settings, that said volume/preamp issues happen keep it up @@AmesWay
Sorry, but you actually call the sound quality that you've recorded and that I'm hearing,.... good !!?? It sounds terrible, and very tinny, and have heard lots of pops and crackles, up until time stamp 5.07 and then it sounded far better. I've got the Fulaim x5 and they are as good as my Dji mics and Rode and I use all my microphones for my job which has to be done professionally and tbh you really have to listen hard through a decent pair of headphones to notice the tiniest sound reproduction differences of the Fulaim x5 compared to the DJI and Rode mics..... but the kicker is that I've got a pair of £29 (yeah I'm a Brit) and even though, they don't kick ass with any of the Microphones mentioned above, nor do they have the 4gb onboard recording or any other fancy stuff apart from NC, but to be fair to them they aren't far off the reproduction sound quality of the more expensive Microphones listed above and yes for £29 !! You also forgot, that the Fulaim x5 cost a considerable amount less, than the DJI Microphones, which makes the Fulaim X5 Microphones a bullet proof buy at the end of the day, and I actually prefer to use the Fulaim X5 over the DJI or the Rode Pro Microphones, simply because they are so quick and easy to get up and running and its sound reproduction quality remains fantastic.
In my use case, I think they sounded great when I attached the receiver to the camera. I believe that’s when the sound in the video also improved. When I used it as a stand alone mic with the onboard recording, it sounded pretty bad. That’s just my experience with them but I’m really glad they are working well for you!
Ahh gee, sorry to hear the X5 didn't work out. Mine finally showed up and I'm pretty happy with it, even did my own review on my channel 😀 But totally hear what you're saying, the X5 is good value for money, but there are some compromises to make that some folk might find a dealbreaker. Fair call and appreciate the honest follow up video.
Thanks - ill check out your video - I wonder if this was a bad product because I haven't heard the falcam as bad as that on other videos (except one now I think about it).
You bought the fulaim x5 without reading or watching reviews online? Did you even bother to read the full specs and capabilities of the fulaim x5 before purchasing ?
@@AmesWay so why did you buy the Fulaim x5? So the title of this video is just “click bait” right? It is concerning when you post that title and then I’m the video promote another wireless mic. fyi tye fulaim x5 is a wireless mic for those who can’t afford the dji . That’s a fact!
@@quevedz7619 well…95% of the videos that I watched on it all said really good things about the mic and their sound quality was excellent. However I could not get it to sound the same way. Not click bait. Just sharing my thoughts thanks
@@AmesWay you said you returned it for a couple of big reason if I’m not mistaken. Then you promoted dji. Do you think a cheaper wireless mic has the same functions/ capabilities than the more expensive leading brand?
I personally feel that your audio was quite bad this entire video no matter what you were using. I'd be willing to bet you have some setting in your camera that aren't aligning with the audio being recorded. Something is definitely not right, I have heard both of these mic setups on multiple other videos with far superior audio quality. So I'm certain that it's not those mic systems.
I heard other youtubers using Fulaim and it sounds amazing, way better than you recording in this video, which makes me think the problem is not the product.
Yeah me too that’s why I bought it. If I plug the receiver into the camera it sounds good but if I just want to use the internal recording then it’s pretty awful
Does the DJI sound that bad, even after you worked on it it became worse, my only problem with X5 is the volume level, once you use a lavalier mic it is really bad, and i would love to tag my files
Judging by the terrible sound you describe as being a "good sound" I believe the problem is your poor Audio Monitoring system, the lack of technical knowledge about audio, or both. Since one of the audio problems of this video was a complete noob mistake (you didn't adjust the audio in the camera) and given the fact that the edited sound was even worse, I think it was both. Likewise, I think that your disappointment on the Fulaim X5 (which I own and although not an amazing audio device, it is pretty decent and very close to the also not-so-amazing DJI mic) was due to the same limitations.
The current sound reminds me of an old plastic radio, edited is even worse
I agree. I’ve finally found a happy medium with the sound after playing with the equalizer
true

you're clipping
Big time!!
your mic is very distorted and or hot then at 5:07 it starts to sound wonderful
Yes I agree. I think I had the camera volume up too high. I redid a test yesterday with it and it sounded much better

Should have bought the Sennheiser EW 112P
You really need to delete this video 😂😂. Sorry but your audio is so bad. You stuffed up somehow in Recording it
I leave it up because it keeps getting views!
