The car exists as a terminal of the transportation system. The value of mobility is created from the matching of the two. The 1927 movie “Metropolis,” which coincided with the construction of the German Imperial Autobahn that began in the 1910s, depicted a mass of vehicles flooding a futuristic city 100 years after that time. And the GM “Futurama,” which became popular at the 1939 New York World's Fair, depicted a huge diorama of the transportation system connecting mega cities and suburbs. Norman Bel Geddes (1893-1958), the first generation American industrial designer who appears in the video, was a stage designer turned designer who created many futuristic designs, and he also designed the GM Futurama. And his 1940 book “MAGIC MOTORWAYS” was a major driving force in accelerating the development of the nation's highway network. Furthermore, the 1964 New York World's Fair “Futurama 2” created a diorama of the future of mobility on the ground, at the poles, under the sea, and in space. However, times have changed to reflect the image of the future as a dystopia, and in the settings of each decade, such as the films “Blade Runner” 2019, “Akira” 2020, “Blade Runner 2049” 2049, and “Minority Report” 2054, the image of mobility is quite dark and change. And even further into the future, in “The Fifth Element” in 2263, no ground vehicles appeared, and mobility was depicted only as aerocars that traveled in large numbers on the grid layer of mega-cities. However, the sight of a human driving an aero car, even in the 23rd century, is quite disconcerting. A bit off topic but to have a look at Metropolis with a well fitting electronic soundtrack I recommend the video’s on TH-cam where Synergy / Larry Fast music has been added. He’s one of my favorite electronic composers.
Imagine how sick one would get if a car would be moved like the one in that last scene (Minority Report if I remember correctly). Even Tom Cruise would stop being cool! 😂

Thank you for providing useful information.
@@gadgetlabo Hope you like it. 😁

I think the operational image of maglev (magnetic levitation) depicted in the film lacks realistic considerations.
@@gadgetlabo That’s Hollywood for you. As long as it looks good it’s OK,
