How to fix Samsung refrigerator not dispensing ice

- The Samsung refrigerator model rs25j500dsg/aa 01 was dispensing water but not ice. After Trowbleshoting found one of the conector at the top of the refrigerator was not secure. Hope this can help some one out there. Like if it help you

Have this exact same issue - about to go check my switch and praying this is the issue. I bought an entire ice maker replacement from Samsung and installed…. No go…. But now I just found this video and about to go try again. !! Fingers crossed
I have a frigidaire gallery and this same situation happened. Water dispensed but no ice was dispensing from the door. I have tried everything and was about to order an auger motor. Watched your video and took the bracket off the top of the freezer door hinge and unhooked everything and put everything back. MAGIC!! IT WORKED! THANK YOU! I NEVER would have thought about that.
Wow, this totally solved my problem. Turns out my switch wasn’t properly being compressed when the door was closed. Thank you so much!
TWO YEARS without the dispenser and I fixed it after watching your video. I had no clue the electrical connections were in the hinge. My problem was the door switch was popped out of place. Snapped it back in and it worked again!! Thank you!!
Great video. My wife and I bought this fridge it was great for 3 years and quit blowing cold air had to buy a new one
Damn! This solved my problem too. I guess it just came undone over the years. Maybe the door was over extended and pushed open too far that popped off the connection. Oh well I'm a happy camper now. Gracias Andres!
Thanks, on mine the little piece on the bottom of the screw broke off, some super glue and back in business.
Every other video tells you to defrost and melt ice, I was glad to find yours.

Opened the top, and the connector was secure. Was bummed. So I just disconnected it and put it back and oddly enough it worked.
I just got a buy out from my Home Depot insurance lol part/ taking months to get it I’m

I’m having the exact same problem. But I have a paddle for the water and one for ice instead of a switch. I’m having a problem finding the switch that you reconnected. It’s hard to tell from your video where the switch is located. The only thing I see with screws is a panel that goes from one side of the top of the refrigerator to the other side. That doesn’t seem like a place for any switches. Refrig is full of food and sort of hesitate about removing anything I’m not that sure about. Can you post a picture of the location of the panel? Thanks.
Hello friend. The wire connection I found is on top of the refrigerator at the left corner of the door. You will find 2 switches. One is a proximity switch and the other one is a press in by the refrigerator door. It was only one screw to remove and the problem was the hardness disconnected like I show on the video. Did you check your paddle switches?
@@andrespipeaxn After farther research, it appears that the ice paddle switch is working properly. There's no clicking when it's depressed. Thanks for replying!!!
Top connections were not loose on mine but I took them apart and back together. It works now but I am only getting crushed ice. On both settings it just comes out as crushed. Any ideas,where to go from there?
Pull the ice reservoir out and there is a metal rod with a spring on the under side of it....make sure it isn't frozen in one position. The rod operates a door that pushes ice into the grinder for crushed ice. The rod should move in and out about 1/2-3/4 of an inch. I had the same problem on mine.

Top Door Switch and Reed Switch are good and tested.
All wires are intact. But pulled out & reinserted.
I can get water. Just no ice coming out.
Still no luck. It is making ice & dropping it drown.
Hello I have the same exact fridge, it makes ice but is not dropping it from the dispenser I have to open it and manually drop the ice :/ any ideas
Are you able to get water when you press the paddle? If so check the connection I fix on this video. If it’s not the connection check the auger motor it should be 110v ac witch makes it very simple to test at home. Good luck and sorry for the late response
Try replacing the thermal fuse and also temperature sensor located on the back panel of the freezer, on the evaporator.
My freezer overfrozed last night and I had to disconnect the refrigerator to thaw it out
My fridge is the same samsung, makes ice just fine, but doesn't drop it in the bucket itself, any ideas? How to test with avometer I don't know! Thanks
Replace the thermal fuse and temperature sensor. That worked for me. Now it drops automatically.
Bishoy I wish I checked my comments before. If it’s not dropping the ice test the motor. I didn’t include that part in my video before all tho I mention I did tested the motor.
Having knowledge about the multi meter is essential for troubleshooting electrical circuits.

Nope. The switch is intact. Water is flowing. The ice dispenser is working but not producing ice.
Having the same issue on mine, same model, no producing ice or producing very little, like 5 cubes in a day, have you found a solution
